  • loved the shine on you crazy diamond in the end haha

  • * * * * *

  • ivanbulic. I hear you. And many other songs from pink floyd have helped me down the trail a bit. The whole Animals from start to finish extremely loud helps me get a glimpse of who I am and how I might relate to others.

  • Saw delicate sound of thunder in Seattle WA (87 tour). It was the "Momentary Lapse of Reason" album release, but they Played for 5 hours. We laughed, cried, felt the spiritual energy through the spirits in Dome which was over capacity at 50 K+.People became family including the band. No fights. Will always love those songs that dig right to your deepest emotion's, and thoughts. As a guitar player in a band at that time every song I played had Hint of Floyd to it for 3 months. Who's Rhiana? LOFL

  • only floyd

  • One of the best.

  • Pink floyd World Heritage....!!!!!!

  • 28 people belong to hell.

  • OK FUCK EVERYONE!!! How the fuck does this stupid bimbo rhianna get 30 mill hits in just a few months ? I promise everyone that in my lifetime I will be hitting this video 30 million times... Live and let live floydians!!!!

  • @MATTYcosgriff You spent your whole comment berating everyone who frequents today's popular music scene, and then you said "live and let live." Do you know what that phrase means?

  • @Jig1123 "You spent your whole comment berating everyone who frequents today's popular music scene..." No he didn't, just the pop drones who listen to Rianna! Don't get the "live and let live" part either though.

  • @MATTYcosgriff now.now one should not berate the simple minded, they are not capable of better understanding

  • @MATTYcosgriff between us we can make it 60 million times.. :-)

  • chulada de cancion ....

  • Stand Still Laddie!

  • Woww I love the World War 1 scenes!!

  • Out of words... Really! Magnificent song.

  • Thank you, thank you - thought I'd lost this original music when EMI pulled the plug on the other video. Can't say I like the video on this tho.

  • @sprocket1942 this is from plink floyds movie the wall. just so you know

  • This sounded familiar. This was played on the radio before. I didn't know Pink Floyd did this.

  • Well done, well done

  • favorite tune on momentary lapse of reason !! but how could you say you had one all time favorite floyd tune from all the great songs they have done ? roger and the remaining two get back together permanantely we saw how could it could be at live 8 !! lucky enough to have been there and countless other times watching floyd musy say my favorite was roger waters !! the wall in berlin fucking crazy !! keeo rocking floyd one of the all time great bands !! listen and enjoy a great tune !!!!

  • good work on the intro; nice editing... couldve used some pieces from Several Species too maybe? (but, as my username reveals, I might bi biased) ;) but really it's great as it is :)

  • 5:50 The Best Part of Video

    Listen and enjoy! ^^

  • It appears he's got a coat, that's a bit of a joke.

  • Oh dear, talking about an epic fail. Reaching for the images out of the Waters era you forgot to put in the fabulous Waters music. The same guitar mixed with real poetry that is.

  • Pink Floyd cannot be compared to anyone. They are unique and will remain unique which assures their place in music for decades to come.

  • Is this song from The Wall album?

  • @erikscherer22 No, its from Momentary Lapse of Reason. But the video footage is from the movie The Wall.

  • got 2 say i like the intro pretty unusual!!!!

  • What would our world be worth without Pink Floyd? About the half ...

  • I love Pink Floyd guitar solos. They are proof positive that you don't need to play at a million miles an hours to make a great sound.

  • when ever i have some problems in my life,i just listen to this song...and it brings me back my hope, hope that everything is going to be ok!

  • guitar solo is one of the best I ever heard

  • FANTASTIC TUNE FRONM ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREAT BANDS !! WHO R THE 26 FOOLS THAT DISLIKE THIS ? STICK TO JUSTIN BEIBER YOU FUCKING IDIOTS !! LEAVE THE REAL MUSIC TO PEOPLE THAT APPRECIATE IT !!!

  • ˙·٠•●♥ღ.*♫•* ♫♪

  • sweet

  • SOooo Much feel ....GOD this is STUNNING

  • pink floyd is this pink floyd is that... just enjoy the music.

stereotyping anything is so primitive it makes me sick.

  • Hi I'm 26years young and from Biesenthal(Germany) and I've heared every song much often than 150 times. In my opinion "HAVE A CIGAR" is the most delicious song of all. But if you aim the Albums it's no matter: THE first is "THE WALL", and if the WALL is tracking you than I only can promise: listen (followed) THE FINAL CUT. There is not much to say against, but the main thing is: LISTEN THE SOUND OF THOSE FANTASTIC MUSICANS AND SHOW IT TO THE FOLLOWING GENERATIONS. Thats all, folks, by Armin

  • simple outstanding song, i love you all pink floyd thank hyou for your legacy, im a thankfull

  • im 30 and my plans is to be about 90 atleast, but when i die i want this song carved on my stone! This is the pf song i tell people to listen to first when im spreading my Pink Floyd propaganda!

  • @f04a06 My husband died 10 years ago now but at his funeral we played comfortably numb as he requested. Shine on Bob

  • best post Waters Pink Floyd song

  • Comment removed

  • Man, I could listen to this guitar solo a hundred times in a row and never tire of it.

  • @1danrobbins Gilmours solo's tend to do that

  • this video isnt for this song... This is from the movie The Wall, two different albums going on here

  • no words juat amazing and never get tired of listen to their music

  • OMG... Simply amazing.. i haven't words

  • Why would you mix the art of (predominantly) Roger Waters with something like 'On the turning away'? Something which had nothing to do with Waters. And actually symbolized an attitude that sat in direct opposition to the Waters sensebility. Especially at the time of its release. This is not just some space cadet glow, or the warm thrill of confusion. The shit MAKES SENSE! Its not just something to enjoy after smoking a joint. And neither are the Doors. Frusterated. The fans are idiots.

  • @SCORNDOGGMELACH You are so right. Don't get me wrong, i loved the genius of Meddles, Relics and Animals but, as soon as Waters departed, PF evolved to a higher plane they would have otherwise never reached. Alas, they learned to fly.

  • @sparknpa interesting comment. Had not considered that.

  • @sparknpa i honestly liked the band with Roger but its all good

  • @SCORNDOGGMELACH I agree... I didn't understand putting this video to that song... it's a complete mismatch.

  • not enough to just stand and stare, ive been loving floyd since i was 13,and im 45! it just never gets old!!

  • Like I told my employees 20 years ago: "Have you hugged your Pink Floyd today?"

  • Trancendental Bliss.

  • fuck that was awesome..goosebumps man..Pink Floyd forever..

  • ...As the daytime is stirring Where the speechless unite In a silent accord Using words you will find are strange And mesmerised as they light the flame Feel the new wind of change On the wings of the night No more turning away From the weak and the weary No more turning away From the coldness inside Just a world that we all must share It's not enough just to stand and stare Is it only a dream that there'll be No more turning away?
  • On the turning away From the pale and downtrodden And the words they say Which we won't understand "Don't accept that what's happening Is just a case of others' suffering Or you'll find that you're joining in The turning away" It's a sin that somehow Light is changing to shadow And casting it's shroud Over all we have known Unaware how the ranks have grown Driven on by a heart of stone We could find that we're all alone In the dream of the proud On the wings of the night...
  • Man how right you are ! the best song ever , i can't quite agree because some other ones like Alan Parsons or Dire straits deserve attention too. But i completely agree it's a masterpiece and a great moment of emotion. PF improved as time was passing by and since a collection of antics. I note many images are extracted from the Wall am i right ?

  • 10 minutes of goosebumps.....

  • ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE CAN LICK MY BEANBAG. THERE JUST TRENDY ASSHOLES... I DON'T THINK ANYBODY READS THAT RAG ANYWAY....THE THOUGHT THAT SOMEONE WOULD ACTUALLY BUY IT MAKES ME LAUGH....

  • Eargasim!

  • Pink Floyd is more than just a rock band. Pink Floyd is more than just an ensemble of the most talented musicians in rock history. Pink Floyd is a transcendent spiritual experience. They offer those who find traditional religion too insipid and irrelevant, an outlet to an otherworldly experience. If there is a heaven, and Pink Floyd is not played there, then it is simply not heaven.

  • this song is absolutely amazing Pink Floyd is forever in our hearts and ears

  • Pink Floyd wasnt on rolling stones list of 100 greatest artists ever. what a joke

  • @mystro810 fuck the rolling stones a bunch of communists own that shit.

  • its a piece of art....matchless..long live flOyd

  • no band on earth has ever shined as much as PF. Syd, David, Roger, Rick, Nick. this is true core performance. i only wish i had been born 50 years ago so that in my youth i would have been to one of this concerts. still, we have lots here on youtube, i hope heaven has PF, if i even go there

  • bello!

  • love is for ever one word

  • Thanks for the video, great song.

  • I recomend for those who havent seen it, The Wall, the movie.

  • very impressive......

  • never gets better than this

  • Queensryche and Pink Floyd are the only tow bands where the music tells a story

  • @free2bekirk There are others, but few do it as theatrically as Pink Floyd. The Wall movie can overload the mind at times if you're paying full attention. There's lots of layers to the story than what meets the eye. I first saw The Wall when I was 12, and have seen it many times since, and still find more things every time I see it

  • pink floyd is forever

  • SUCK ON THIS BEATLES !

  • @DaniRami15 youre a fucking idiot

  • MASSIVE track.....

  • Love this video and also the description!! <3

Although it's not about "The wall"

  • Is that Bob Geldof???

  • @supertruckertx

yes, OF COURSE he's Bob Geldof <3

    this is "The wall"

  • @supertruckertx Yes it is!

  • @supertruckertx bob geldof in the movie, Cyndi lauper, Brian Adams, mick jaggers wife or ex, and many more famous musicians play with Pink floyd in (The Wall Live In Berlin), truelly an epic band, I almost cry every time I hear wish you were here or on the turning away,

  • @supertruckertx oh, and don't forget "The Tide Is Turning" tear jerker of a song and even more relevant now than it was back in the day

  • trippiest first two minutes ive ever experienced in my entire life

  • Pink Floyd Forever

  • @ThePaulaangel

Agreed! Pink Floyd will live on generation to generation.

  • An apostate? Maybe, but never of of this music. RIP Richard Wright

  • where did u get the audio??

it's awesome and i never heard it before

  • where did u get the audio??

it's awesome and i never heard it before

  • this is not the best song ever but that is a great song

  • PF are the best! Music is one of the best gifts we could received, from architecture that inspires my hearth to the sound coming from my sound system, I am inspired to eternity, to look for the space between music and architecture!

  • You used the Wall classic Album/Film to a shit Dave Gilmour song. and you think it's the best song ever? what a moron.

  • @TheUtubesuxass Scumbag

  • @LINTSWD dont worry he just can not handle opinions or truth

  • This is one helluva mix!

  • did they make a momentary lapse of reason movie like they did with the wall. if not what vid is this?

  • @ctjazzking it looks like he used clips from the wall for this vid

  • love this song

  • when ever i aqm asked what i would have if i was straded on a desert island i allways reply my collection of jimi hendrix, pink floyd, ledd zepplin and rush and a awseomn stereo, and if they say well cds dont keep wyou living, i say well obviously you have never heard floyd and slap them in the face

  • god love this track as all of pink floyds, well done dude..

  • wtf u think he wus on during this vid make

  • Absolutely one of PF's best songs!! What is this vid from?

  • @GrinnellMystic The Wall

  • con questa canzone vedi il paradiso

  • by far one of the best pink floyd tunes. gilmour has more soul in one cord of his guitar than most have in a whole song. shine on!!!!

  • @12wsatye -SHINE ON and may good Lord give his care for all who loves and feels.

  • well done

i like this video so much

    thank's

  • one of the best rock songs ever bottom line.. def on of my many favs by pink floyd

  • Its about turning away from the worl and your heart dying

  • Possibly, in my humble opinion, one of , if not the, best all-around songs ever. Any true lover of this genre has to be mesmerized by this video and the beauty of David Gilmour's solo.

  • @1danrobbins Amazing!

  • Roger just wants his mum....

  • A weak album by Floyd standards, but this songs is definitely a highlight. And a poor Pink Floyd album is better than most music today at any rate.

  • @evilemperordude how is this a weak album?

  • Pink Floyd is far from being just music. Pink Floyd is obviously a genre. Stands alone in a music level, the highest one. Every PF album is a story. If you pay atention when you're listening to it feels like you're reading a good book. I recomend for those who havent seen it, The Wall, the movie.

  • favorite movie of all time.

  • @jptpsm fuck that movie is the shit, iv watched it at least 400 times

  • @jptpsm Thats a great comment. Pink Floyd are a genre

  • @jptpsm Roger Waters is a genius

  • @jptpsm

I totally agree with Pink Floyd having their own Genre...I've been naming them a "timeless" genre for years. There are a few other bands that can be included in the timeless genre as well, but not too many.

  • @jptpsm Don't dislike the song, just the 4 plus minutes wasted at each end

  • Love this song too ,have to listen to it at least once a week, also like Carl Sagan Pale Blue Dot version .

  • I love this song <3

  • People need to listen to pink floyd more. Every song can be taken into a different context than it was intentionally put into. All pink floyd songs truly explain life. My favorite song by pink floyd is high hopes. Pink floyd should be considered its own genre. Shine on you crazy diamond. --Jared--

  • They are considered their own genre. No one has been able to match the genuine, original sound that is Pink Floyd.

  • Hey Up ThePunx333 -

We are in absolute agreement. Having 'come up' under older siblings in the '70's who were into them, I dismissed them as 'Hippie" music (I know: "How ignorant can one be?") because I saw their long hair; and several of the mates who listened to it were burn-out types. And Punk Rock was just coming around, so... I patently discarded them without really listening to their lyrics. At about 20, I ate LSD, sat down with 'Dark Side', & really HEARD the best poetry of our era.

  • Just loves Pink Floyd... Mega-super music.. stoner...

  • @FirCorred - You're right, my friend, it's Geldof - no 'r'. "Once upon a time" was 1979 when he was front man for 'The Boomtown Rats". It was only 30 years ago, but to some, I suppose (except us old farts) it was the dinosaur age. (No offense taken, or intended!) :)

  • my answer was way over the limit, hope you don`t mind the personal message, don`t know what got me babbling all of a sudden. Thanks for your patience

  • All have fantastic qualities, David Gilmour as well as Roger Waters, as well as Rick Wright, Syd Barrett and Nick, all in their own special way.

And all together were the most fantastic band that ever played. May Rick and Syd rest in peace. And may the others go on playing.

  • Amen to that!

  • I find it funny that you can bill 'On the Turning Away' as the best song ever, yet bury it in the claptrap of clippings from other albums. The song is one of the band's better tunes and has enough quality to stand on it's own.

  • its true roger waters cannot sing just compare comfortably numb with waters and gilmour. gilmour is 110 times better than water can ever dream of being

  • Roger Waters can't sing! All he does is scream. On the other hand, David's voice is heavenly!! :D

  • u r a fuckin retard. bands like job for a cowboy scream! ive seen roger waters live 3 times and im only 21 and i am blown away by his vocals expecially at that age! u have no clue what singing is if u say roger waters just screams
