  • I think I see an ornithopter....

  • this is dumb as fuck, the Jace player gets to activate his planeswalker once before the other player is allowed to respond with a non-counterspell

  • what game is that

  • Thumbs up if you miss the Zendikar lands.

  • I wonder how you guys feel, now that Jace is banned.

  • @TheNN To cheer myself up I think about how there has to be at least one dude that actually forked out $320 to get a playset of jace a week before they banned it in standard and I proceed to laugh my ass off about that dudes misfortune.

  • @Enochthepure *laughs* That deserves a thumbs up. Yeah, that would be a nice thought to cheer yourself up over.

  • Every single expression on Graham's face is priceless in this video.

Seriously, pause it any time Graham's on screen.

  • @DysprosiumJudas umad bro?

  • Seems like a very expensive hobby.

  • @SuperAntx it is...

its a lot of fun though...

  • should have bolted that architect that thing is so damn annoying

  • @rory4231 I think jace would have become more annoying :P

  • @vampdow nope, cost gets paid before anything gets put on the stack (they have no speed, they just happen) though since the plainswalker abilities are sorcery speed you could probably still lightning bolt it (I don't remember if you can respond to something resolving into play or if they keep priority, I know you can respond to someone playing something, but that's not the same)

  • RED MANA for the Win!!! All Hail Chandra!

  • what is this game??

  • @knives4cash Magic The Gathering

  • This I why I gave up on blue and went full red burn

  • Why is Walk the Dinosaur one of the related videos?

  • FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  • GOddammit, after looking at how awesome the card is, now I want a Jace the Mind Sculptor

    £75!

Thank god I bought a red+green deck anyway

  • I like that Graham has an ornithopter on the field :)

  • @retteretter I saw a Memnite on the field too, kind of a surprise seeing that Alex is still alive.

  • While video is playing, press 9.

    Repeat ad infinitum.

    ???

    PROFIT

  • @Azaghal01 i did this and shit myself laughing.

  • The last bit of this video destroyed my speakers. They now can not stop mooing.

  • Alternatively the lightning bolt could be killing graham directly, making the Jace irrelevant.

  • ...lightning bolt?

  • Wait, so you actually paid $80 for that card?

  • I've been watching this every so often just for Alex at 0:45 - Just watching that second makes me laugh for a good hour or so.

  • One of these days I'm gonna have to play solitare or something and see what the rage with card games is all about.

  • This is why I play Yu-Gi-Oh....

  • @PSNLanceManley agreed but comedy is also nice

  • @PSNLanceManley YGO is just as bad, there's a lot of common cards that can kill off higher priced cards. Like Solemn Judgment being nuked by tools

  • This one was kinda...yeah.

    *bursts out in laughter*

  • This is why i dont play magic all my game end up like this XD

  • Where are you finding Big Jace for $80? He goes for like a hundred everywhere I've seen.

  • @WeaponMasterJedi I dunno. 80 Canadian dollars, perhaps?

  • @WeaponMasterJedi $80 is what it is worth. $100 is what card shops sell it for, and people who think it is actually is worth that. A foil may go for $150 at card shops, but I am only expecting $100-125 when selling mine, so there is just a range where (especially on ebay) people want the absolute highest price and the lower priced cards are snatched up quickly, so you only see those high priced ones no one is actually buying.

  • Good news, Graham! That doesn't work!

    It's complicated, but here goes:

You play Jace. He hits the field.

Then YOU receive priority, being the active player. Activate Jace's first ability, adding 2 counters is the "cost" of the ability. The ability goes on the stack, and a lightning bolt, even in response to the ability, will just take him to 2 counters. We've answered that question a lot around here.

  • @SargeMako

You are correct. However, as we state in the comment, excessive gloating counts as passing priority. His hubris was his downfall!

  • @crapshotvideo

    Ah. I stand corrected.

  • @SargeMako But wait: wouldn't a lightning bolt played in response to it coming into play still kill it? instant beats sorcery speed...

  • @SargeMako I thought planeswalker abilities are activated as sorceries. A Lightning Bolt, which is an instant, would resolve before Jace, dealing 3 damage, killing it. Also Lightning Bolt deals 3 damage, Shock deals 2 damage.

  • @Retr0Warrior But he has priority, so during your turn you play Jace and then you can decide wether you want to continue playing spells or you let the Lightning Bolt resolve. He could even brainstorm with Jace, draw a counter spell and counter the lightning bolt before it resolves. Basically, it's your turn, and you can play as many spells as you want before your opponent spells resolve.

  • @SargeMako ooooor just use 2 lighting bolts...

  • @SargeMako That's why you splurge and spend that extra 25 cents on a second lightning bolt!

  • @SargeMako You started with "Good news," so I read your whole comment in the Professor Farnsworth voice.

  • Spendy game indeed...

  • I'm Still laughing xD

  • Lol you can really see how Graham doesn't want to twist up his cards but wants to be angry so has to throw them instead :P

  • love the vid, but you cant bolt a jace since it is not a creature or a player, its a planeswalker

  • @KardKid1996 Uh yes you can. In the comprehensive rules it states that a planeswalker is treated as a player.

  • This is without a doubt the best crapshot made thus far.

    Excellent work mentlegen.

  • HAHA XD Best crapshot yet!

  • Ahahahahaaa, I totally saw the lightning bolt coming XD

  • It saddens me that I noticed that Graham tapped five mana for a 4 mana card

  • @JamaiusYan No he didn't. He tapped 4 islands.

  • HAHAHHAHHAHA 25 cents well spent!

  • 0:44 I think I found my new ringtone!

  • @foobula And I need an animated GIF of that. Now.

  • Crazy Graham reminds me of myself. On a good day.

Instigator Alex reminds me of myself. Every day. On the internet.

Also, I think excessive consumption of your opponents' card(s) counts as negation, so I'm not sure where we stand as of now...

  • Lightning bolt.

  • was Graham leaking or boiling at the end?

  • What happened to the spending limit? Oh wait, nvm, that was covered. You're all bad friends to each other sometimes.

  • "Excessive gloating counts as passing priority." ...I'll keep that in mind, because Grant really should've used that +1 ability ASAP just for the reason shown.

  • surely the best thing against the mind sculptor would be something with no brain...

but apparently lightning bolt works as well...

  • the rule nut in me was to point out that alex would not be able to cast any spells until graham has decided to use or not use a planeswakers abilities right after playing him.

  • @trymantha As we say in the description "Excessive gloating counts as passing priority". We thought of everything!

  • om nom nom nom nom nom

  • this video reminded me of the game.

    ye, you lost it again

  • Now I enjoy magic quite a lot (and even have a mind sculptor of my own) but I can imagine non-magic fans getting a little tired. I know it isn't the only thing you do, but it feels like their are a few too many.

Although have you guys perhaps approached Wizards to do shot sketches for them? Might be a long shot, and I know you already have a ton of work on your plate, but it would be cool.

  • @porgy29 I don't know anything about magic but they make it hilarious :p

I think as long as they keep getting new ideas then it's fine to stick with magicjokes

  • I do hope there was a sleeve on the card when it was in Alex's mouth... and that the closed end was being eaten.

  • Jace the Mind Sculptor? Shit I need to get back into Magic.

  • Probably one of the more random Crapshots.

  • are we still not over recycling ancient memes? ^^

  • OM NOM NOM

  • I think the Graham's boiled, better take him off the hob

  • that hits a bit close to home the number of times i've put down a powerful card to have it just swiped away by a spell

  • Zat was delicious!

  • Crap, I really did hit dislike by accident :(

  • ROFLMAO.

  • OM NOM NOM NOM NOM

  • Amazing.

  • Oh no Alex, you damaged Graham's mind and his wallet! all with 25 cents

    well played!

  • @webrunner42 Walker powers are used at sorcery speed, so a bolt would simply count as an interrupt.

  • I'm pretty sure you can use a PW's + ability as soon as it hits to take it out of lighting bolt range (it's a cost so it's immediate)

  • @webrunner42 You are correct sir, the only time an opponent get's a chance to cast the lightning bolt is in either in response to Graham casting Jace, or when Graham uses Jace's +2 ability, and since putting the 2 loyalty onto jace is a cost, Jace would not get downed by a mere lightning bolt. Now if Graham had cast Jace, then decided to do something else before using the ability, or decides to use either of his other 3 abilities, then bolt wins.

  • @Seraphas84 YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF GAME MECHANICS WILL NOT STAND IN THE FACE OF CRAPSHOTS! TO THE DUNGEON WITH YOU!

  • @Seraphas84 But as the description clearly says, excessive gloating counts as passing priority, so Alex cast in response to the summoning.

  • Dude. You're playing blue and you have three open mana. Bolts are never a problem.

  • 0:00 - 0:45 - okay, okay

    0:45 - wat.

  • @C4azyMik3 Adam reference?

  • I think Graham sprung a leak.

  • And that, my friends, is why I limit myself to budget decks =D

  • Wait wait, can you really lightning bolt Jace? I thought you can only hit a creature or player. Jace is a permanent...

Or am I just doing it wrong

  • @Makotousaki I'm pretty sure anything that affects a player can affect a planeswalker (since the player is a planeswalker). Such as when you attack you can choose to attack either the player or their planeswalkers.

  • @Makotousaki To hit a planeswalker you aim at the player, but can choose to apply damage to either the actual player or to a planeswalker.

  • You have a Jace?

    Niiiiiice

  • Something liek this happened to me.

Play yu-gi-oh, my mate had some metal dragon thingy that cost him loads, he boosted it up to over 5000+ atk & def and i just flipped black hole lol

.. then removed it from play just to add insult to injury

  • om nom nom nom

  • I'm a lucky mother. First magic cards I ever bought, was the WorldWake starter pack. In the free booster that came with it, Jace the Mind Scupltor :D

  • Reminds me of when I used to keep casting Naturalise on my friend's artifacts. Never got a reaction quite like that, but it still annoyed him.

  • LMAO yeah I hate stuff like that. Man Eater Bug in Yu-Gi-Oh always pissed the crap(shot) outta me.

  • Best. Ending. Ever

  • You've just explained the reason why I quit playing trading card games in 50 seconds. Well done.
