  • Bret Hart Heroe por siempre ...

  • thats how you counter the million dollar dream

  • Austin looks genuinely upset to have lost.

  • Then The Number 8 was no longer on Harts' side, as Piper Defeated Hart, For The IC Title, February 8th 1999, In Buffalo NY ,

  • worst ending to a match ever bret shouldve at least won by using the sharpshooter

  • @shredmaster100 bullshit, that was the perfect technical move mixed with storytelling. how austin bragged he would put bret to sleep with the submission, and bret just showed austin why you cant submit the master himself

  • il give u that bret hart was one of the best wrestlers in the wwe/f but because of vince mcmahon he left and in my opinion vince has ruined wrestling today

  • @shredmaster100

That would have ended the storyline. He beat him with the sharpshooter at Wrestlemania

  • yeah my bad lol

  • Best match in the History of Survivor Series, Without a doubt,

  • @BipolarKid420 agreed

  • This was on Madson Square Garden ?????

  • I love long matches. Today's generation JUST DON"T KNOW!

  • I think Bret in his prime would have no trouble getting out of the Masterlock challenge. He has too many countermoves.

  • @kmg4 dude its fake

  • @MrJarvishead What an insecure dumbshit you are. You think you are pointing out something that no one else has.

'Scripted' is not the same as 'fake'.

    Dumbass.

  • To see bret win after all the effort that stone cold put into that match.. pissed me off -.-

  • I didn't know Stone Cold knew how to do a Texas Cloverleaf. I knew he was great but man that was great to see that move.

  • @eknouse he said Bret got the best out of him

  • I'm going to go against the grain and say I didn't really enjoy the match.. to much brawling and punching, not enough actual wrestling moves.

  • One could argue that this is a better match than their match at WM13. I'm not saying it is, but then again I'm not saying it isn't. Both, are just incredible matches.

  • yoko sumo?

  • This is definitely one of my favorite matches.

  • Dude This Match Was Awesome!!!

  • bret could put on a 5 star match with a wet towel

  • q buena pelea TERRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • That's how you sell the stunner. Not an overblown, goofy oversell like The Rock used to do.

  • People who underrate austin's wrestling abilities should watch this match. As well as his matches in wcw.

  • Definitely a top 3 WWF match of all-time. Two legends at their peak. The ONE gripe I have is that the Stunner was used as a throw away move, essentially. Other than that, this was a total classic. MOTY for 1996, quite easily.

  • BRET IS GREAT !

  • what a classic match!!!

  • Even though Austin lost the match, he did give the Hitman a beating of his life...here & in their Street Fight match after WM 13...AUSTIN 3:16 FOR LIFE!

  • awusumnessssssss

  • One of my favorite stunners. Bret sold it incredibly well. I hate the Razor Ramon-style flying 20 feet in the air or the The Rock-style doing 3-4 flips. This one looked like it actually hurt.

  • @Trunkington Its because i think it did hurt, his head jerked back lol

  • Unfortunately, it is the end unsuccessful. The game was nice

  • This is why Austin & Bret are bigger and better than Hogan

  • @86Stooy Different eras, different situations. You cannot say that.

  • Wow, you don't get matches like this anymore!

  • JR SAIDS AUSTIN AT 3:16

  • HITMAN

    3:16

  • Bret sold that stunner real well. Even I cringed.

  • this is fucking classic match

  • bret taped at 1:10

  • @ckehler It wasn't the rule back then.

  • Every time these two got in the ring it was awesome. What wrestling should be.

  • kills me that austin couldn't beat brett hart

  • "bret the hitman hart"- LEGEND

  • There was 2 four counts in thisn

  • Great match, two great fighters, but prevailed ability of Bret Hart.

  • stone cold owes his fame and career to the hitman, bret made him famous in this match and at WM 13

  • bret is awesome

  • GREAT...THANKS 4 posting

  • McMahon was a good commentator UNTIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLL HE STARTED SHOUUUTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING AT THE END OF MATCHEEEEEEEEEEES!

  • @GwresYnKernow Lmao....

  • @GwresYnKernow

I actually liked Falsetto VKM! LOL...ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNE! TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YESSSSSSSSSSSS! YES! YES! HE GOT 'EM!

  • Same way Bret beat Roddy Piper at WrestleMania 8.

  • @DSIR1 Two serious contenders for my favourite match ever (but the honour still goes to Bret-Austin WM13).

  • @DSIR1 Austin and the Rock used the same spot at WM X7

  • @DSIR1 At 39 years old I bet it was a bit more difficult to do this time.

  • @rmathew2 I agree. Though SS '96 was only 4 1/2 years later, Brets body endured a lot between WM8 and SS '96. I'm way younger than 39 and I would have a tough time not breaking my neck with that reversal off the turnbuckle.

  • @DSIR1 I guess its the way he was trained by his dad, a high threshold for pain.

  • @DSIR1 Thanks for ruining it

  • @StewartDrive It's a pretty old video. I assumed anyone watching this would have seen it 15 yrs ago. Sorry about that.

  • @DSIR1 Aye!

  • This match was awesome.

  • wht the hell is stone cold looking at bret after he loses in the end as if in next match he would win bret hahahah next match again wrestlemania 13 bret kicked his azz so brutally. he did sharpshooter stone colds ass for half an hour till he past out.

  • guys did u see bret kicked out of the stunner also . damn bret was great . stone cold cant bloody win bret hart in his 10 lifes.

  • Yeah the ending kinda blew, but the finish for their rematch at Wrestlemania more than made up for it.

  • worst ending ever to a great match.

  • @Deetchmaster I disagree. I think they had to end the match in this way... You want to give Stone Cold a major push, but you don't want him to lose his steam when he's in the first big main event match of his WWF career by being decisively beaten...and you don't want a returning Bret Hart to lose either... Either way, this was the only way they could have ended such a great match.

  • stone cold disliked the vid.

  • Hitman taps @ 1:04.

  • @beowulf20062006 holy shit, he actually did. austin won!

  • @kevc222ud tapping your hand on the mat didn't mean "i submit" back then. Not sure when it started to though...

  • @beowulf20062006 Back then, he had to say that he gives up.

  • lol pathetic finish after amazing match -__-

  • This finish was just a copy of Bret/Piper at WM8.

  • @the1musiclad yea except Austin didn't lay there like a dead fish lol

  • not a big fan of that finish, but a great match.

  • man i missed wrestling matches like this where they told a story in the ring. The flow of the matches were fantastic. These days its just random moves after another with barely any story telling in the match.

  • Would it have been a better finish if Austin didn't let go of the hold even after he was pinned and Bret lost consciousness and it took several officials to pull him off ?

  • @1MoreRoundbrother i dunno how bout u get a time machine go back to 1996 and ask them

  • darn

  • how vince doesn't allow matches like these to happen anymore? i will never now.

he will NEVER recieve these kinds of pops again. the NY/Chicago/Toronto crowds rip the faces/untalented wrestlers apart every time. if mcmahon actually listened to his fans, WWE would still be coasting on the attitude era.

  • Only HBK, Sycho Sid, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, the Rock and Kane kicked out a Stone Cold Stunner

  • @MsVladwin HBK has never kicked out of the stunner

  • @MsVladwin So has Triple H

  • @MsVladwin And Bret Hart 2

  • after the jake the snake match, this match made stone cold

  • Okay the end of this match was awesome, but Austin could not hang at the beginning. He looked out-of-place even wrestling someone 10x his ability. BTW, it was supposed to be Bret vs Shawn, with Bret reclaiming his belt and avenging his loss. The main reasons being that it would've established a long-term rivalry between the two of them and because Shawn's steam was running-out. Shawn backed out because he was jealous of Bret and didn't believe he should have to face losing to him.. Dick

  • Cant argue with this match up at all - pure wrestling clinic - had everything - brawling - wrestling - hell even the announcers were great - what an stable this would have been - Austin/Rock/Hart/Benoit/HHH/Kane/Taker with Ric Flair managing them

  • @mpazile I think its on youtube man..

  • Such a good match.

    I love it!

  • THIS WAS WRESTLING MAN!!!!!!!

  • Austin/Bret Hart's feud is my favorite I think.

  • Bret Hart is one of the few guys to ever cleanly and legibly kick out of the Stone Cold Stunner. Even Taker can't say that.

In fact, when you compare two guys that are so evenly matched in rivalry, like Steamboat/Savage, Benoit/Booker, Angle/Lesnar, it would be wise to add Hitman/Stone Cold to that list. When you have those 2 in the same ring with something important on the line, you can do no wrong.

  • Great match.

  • Thats the same counter move that Bret beat piper back in wrestlemaina

  • Austin was a great technical wrestler he doesn't get enough credit for that

  • These two were probably the overall biggest 2 guys in the whole 90s imo. Nobody could touch them.

  • BEST STUNNER EVER at 0:02

  • Good match with immaculate commentating.

  • Austin looks intense @5:34 backing into the crowd!

  • quick three count

  • Bret always got the best of who he was working with. Austin was great in this match. WWE take note: fans want good, clean matches like this again

  • Bret owns stone bald

  • back when wrestling didnt suck

  • Bret under performs again.. only just getting a win.

  • One of my favorite matches ever. I wish this match would be put over as much as Stone Cold vs. Bret at WM 13.

  • @HBKvsTazMUDM i wish that to, but in historical context the wm13 match is so important for the company that it will always be put over in ways very few matches will ever be. their wm13 match along with wm14 main event and wm3 main event are probably the most important matches in the companies history

  • @ovafiend Yeah those 3 matches shaped the company into new era's and important moments for WWE. WM 3=the impossible win after Hogan slammed Andre. Made WM a phenomenon. WM 13=match that made Stone Cold into the biggest baby face in pro wrestling history. WM 14=Austin becoming a world champion after many set backs in WCW and not enough time to become a credible champion in ECW. WWF was saved by Stone Cold's gimmick and how popular it was. B/c of that WWF was able to drive WCW out of business.

  • aww no sharpshooter

  • bret did a fantastic job in putting over austin

  • bret was great wid stunner

  • I always feel like sometimes this match is overlooked because of the match they had at Wrestlemania 13 which was awesome as well. But really this match is epic in it's own way, it's really the start of a classic feud between two terrific talents. One of my favorite feuds of all time.

  • i like this match but the submission match whas awesome.

  • Pre-piledriver Austin was a fantastic in-ring worker. It's a shame his peak came post-injury. He became a horrid in-ring worker that got over solely on mic work and pulling off a great gimmick.

  • Bret was tapping at 1:05. Austin was screwed.

  • @Rocnie nah Bret wasn't tapping he just made a movement with his hand that looked like him tapping but trust me he wasn't cause usually when a person taps out they tap out longer than that

  • @Rocnie he wasn tapping idiot

  • @Rocnie he wasnt tapping idiot

  • wow what physical match it was . saw all four parts exactly why we all respect these 2 so highly.

In their Primes i can keep talking on debate who is better aka Best Ever xD.

  • @kshitijkumar89 = I would have to say Steve Austin was probably in his prime here (96) as its prior to the neck injury which slowed him down considerably. However Bret Hart was almost 40 years old in this match, which probably means he's at least 7 or 8 years past his prime.

  • @mjp102 lol but looking at the intensity & performance by bret he don't look like 40 in this :),instead it feels like he faster, stronger, athletic than most of the guys we see these days in their prime :)

  • Slava to Bret Hart

  • @blobbber88 Vince never puts anyone anywhere..It depends on the guy himself..

Bret had everything but until he earned that charisma in 1991, he wasn't worth anything in pro-wrestling..

  • @blobbber88 yep, but he really couldn't make it to the top..

  • This is a 5 star match for me

  • so bret hart was the first to kick out of the stunner?

  • @natedagr808 Yeah I think this was the first time anyone ever kicked out of the stunner. And if I'm not mistaken....nobody else did until The Rock at Wrestlemania 17.

  • @KennethKaniffFromCT well rock did at wrestlemania 15 after the ref ran to the ring, and triple h did at no way out 2001 if those count. but thats it til rock at wrestlemania 17

  • What an awesome match! It had everything! Brawling and technical moves! Two WWF legends!!!

  • how was it a huge mistake if stone cold pulled bret away from the ropes???

  • @bigmoneyluke2 J.R. means Austin should have tried to pin him right away after stunner, but then Bret could just put his foot on the rope to get out of it.

  • absolutely awesome. thanks for posting. too bad they don't wrestle like this anymore.

  • Excellent finish IMO. It almost reminded me of the Undertaker-Angle match that would happen 10 years later at No way Out. I always like it when a match ends cleanly, without the winner having to do his five moves of doom.

  • stone cold is skinny

  • austin didnt become a lame brawler because of vince or himself, he became a lame brawler because your only as good as your competition.. hbk owen hart steve austin and many others have wrestled their best matches against bret hart

  • This is one of those rare matches where Austin actually shows a few wrestling moves...

  • @dciguy01 Don't underestimate Austin's wrestling skill. He may not have shown it much during his time as the big dog in WWF, but Austin actually had some pretty solid technical skills--not as much as the likes of Benoit or Malenko, but he was damn good nonetheless.

  • @dciguy01 austin had to turn braller after that pilldriver owen hart gave him

  • TEXAS CLOVERLEAF FUCK THE WORLD

  • Its seems ever since Bret made his comeback in 2010, he has earned millions of more fans and it shows here on youtube..Earlier i used to get crazy when it was only austin ,rock, cena or hogan everywhere..

Now finally the kids have realized who is the real daddy of pro-wrestling!

  • This match was awesome.

  • Awesome match with an great ending...

  • 038 that was 3

  • stone cold is skinny

  • @haad999 He was in pretty good shape at this point, beginning of his WWE venture

  • @jpk823 nope, but at 4:24 now that was 3

  • Classic

  • Austin knew how to apply some submission holds through his time in Japan in '92 and '95.

  • A great, great match... Austin before the injury at summerslam 97' could really wrestle.

  • true....after that he became lame brawler....hate it...

  • Great match.

  • thats how you take the stunner, not like the rock flip flop bullshit

  • @angus506 ...damn straight! Bret always took a good stunner

  • Ithink he only took 2 stunners

  • Genius ending to match. This was an awesome match.

  • great match

  • As far as technical mat skill, this match was their best. But as far as brutality and no-holds-barred action, their submission match at WM13 was a classic, no question.

  • Bret didn't lay down for the chin move, stunner, nice! Austin could wrestle good back then though, clover leaf, basically a sharpshooter, good hold

  • Comment removed

  • The only time I've seen a Stunner sold properly...

  • Stone Cold Stunner! 0:00

  • @idkmybffjv LOL damn right great stunner

  • @idkmybffjv yeah after that it became more scripted cause vince had to get more ratings to win the war anyways there were the good old days.
