thats cuz hes not using a double pedal...he uses his floor tom to sub in for some of the bass hits.

Haste the day has been one of my favorites for years. The improvisation on the floor tom didn't quite sound like the double bass, but it sounded great as a new way to play it!

DW kits come with a built in pillow...i also have a small one in there touching both the batter head and the resonant head...without mics, it still sounds amazing, but with mics and EQ'd it really thumps...i love it...the DW quality is uncomparable.

@Danz2003 it wont make that big of a difference because u can tune the drums to make that sound. Btw i think hes using triggers cause the bass drum sounds unnatural

no trigger...just an audix D6 mic, the dw pillow, and another pillow...that's it

i use Audix i5's on the toms and snare, and an Audix d6 on the kick...with a Mackie 1642 mixer

i don't know when they started doing it, but mine came with a black dw pillow that is actually velcroed to the kick drum...you can choose to leave it in, or remove it...
