I liked how everyone's voice in the original game had that echo over it, it really added to the atmosphere of Shadow Moses and how cold and dark it was .
Twin Snakes as a much better dialogue. This translation isnt so good.
The interpretation here is more direct, the other had some flipflops of liquid that could be avoided, but i still think its a better dialogue in TS. And saying that Cam Clarke was reading a board is ridiculous. Here Liquid is angry, in TS he is enjoying confronting snake with the truth.

The original is better because everyone remembers the pauses between conversations like at 1:58 lol and that little suspense sounds right when something big was about to be reveled just like at 2:39 and running around in the snow watching the gaurds follow your footprints and watching the craziest cut scenes ever.. I was never supporting the theory he had blonde hair...I was against that idea. I've seen the briefing in TTS, despite the fact I disliked it, and Snakes hair looked dark. No blonde highlights there.

That's because in the Twin Snakes, Grey Fox don't sound as tormented and as insane as he did (and should) in the original. He sounds like an old man, but maybe you would sound like this if you died and revived through drugs. And for the accent, Frank Jeager is half-Vietnamese, half-German-American, so it's normal that he got an accent.
1:05 to 1:10 has nothing to do with David Hayter being a bad voice actor, the problem's in the script itself, but that's alright cos the script was originally japanese to begin with and emotions usually tend to get 'lost in translation'. It's like telling a japanese joke to non-japanese people ... they won't get it

lol, it does. All the Metal Gears look funny though. Metal Gear SS-1X and Metal Gear D (from the first to MG games om the MSX) look like mechs, made me think of Megatron^^. The Rays look like scorpions. The Potable Ops trailer shows some kind of 4-legged spider on top of a rocket. The gekkous make cow-noises in the MGS 4 trailer.
So basically, Kojima just tries to bring some humor in it as well.
They look like mechs because Otacon loves Japanese anime. but that doesn't explain how the first two Metal Gears (SS-1X and D) from the MSX look like that.
In MGS3, the Shagohod does a sound like that when it falls from the bridge, but I think that the sound came from the bridge straining under the weight or something. MG-Ray looked funny... While the MGS4 gekkos deliberately make animal noises (mooing and stomping on the ground, along with that weird noise when Snake used his camo in E3 06) to psychologically affect their enemy. eg. Make them scared, or give them a false sense of security. Probably the earlier MGs were the same

The cow noises are to scare their enemies before they fight them. Give them a psychological boost over them. The noises the MGS4 gekkos make are just them playing toying with their enemies emotions (make them feel scared, etc) Koj said it himself, and that it's going to be in the gameplay as well. Good theory you got there, cos Koj is mental enough to put those noises in the game for comedy. And Hideo has always said that a stealth game needs to have tensr moments to be what it is. He also thinks that makking the game serious and tense 24/7 wouldnt encrge ppl to play. so he puts in comedy moments to ease the tension and keep the player interested
i think he knew that. i agree too, look at twin snakes, all that matrix bullet didging missle hopping crap. still an amazing game, and im glad for the remake, but my heart will always lie with the crappy computer version which was moderately better than the ps1 version, but nowhere near that of twin snakes.

In the PS1 version of MGS, Ninja's voice actor is the same voice actor for the DARPA chief.
In Twin Snakes, there are two different voice actors for those two characters.

While the MGS4 gekkos deliberately make animal noises (mooing and stomping on the ground, along with that weird noise when Snake used his camo in E3 06) to psychologically affect their enemy. eg. Make them scared, or give them a false sense of security. Probably the earlier MGs were the same

Ehm... well, they probably look like mechs, because they´re robots. Well, sort of robots. And as mechs and robots are family, I think that´s why they look like that. Besides that - animal noises just sound cool (except for the cow noises, that's just funny).

The cow noises are to scare their enemies before they fight them. Give them a psychological boost over them. The noises the MGS4 gekkos make are just them playing toying with their enemies emotions (make them feel scared, etc) Koj said it himself, and that it's going to be in the gameplay as well. Playing mind games with mechs called moon light as an old man with a tobacco addiction. Interesting...

yea, I know. But I´m talking about Rex and Ray and stuff. I think they have those noises, just because Kojima thought it would be funny or cool. But I do know that MGS 4´s theme will be sense, and that it will be about Solid Snake feeling old and wanting to give up battle, and all psychological and stuff.

Good theory you got there, cos Koj is mental enough to put those noises in the game for comedy. And Hideo has always said that a stealth game needs to have tensr moments to be what it is. He also thinks that makking the game serious and tense 24/7 wouldnt encrge ppl to play. so he puts in comedy moments to ease the tension and keep the player interested

Erm, they are actually the sam game. The twin snake is the remake of the first MGS on Gamecube

i think he knew that. i agree too, look at twin snakes, all that matrix bullet didging missle hopping crap. still an amazing game, and im glad for the remake, but my heart will always lie with the crappy computer version which was moderately better than the ps1 version, but nowhere near that of twin snakes.

i know. but im glad for the pc version which was just a step up from the ps1 version, which had low resolution, etc. the PC was the old version, but better resolution, and not the cheesy matrix cutscenes...

It seems that the subtitles fade in slowly, sometimes in the split second before the sentence was finished by the character. But anyway, it was cool.
