There is a tunnel built by Iran, but I believe it is on the road towards the south. This is the road to the north.

I think the first tunnel is actually Iranian-built, a friendship tunnel built after TJ's independence.

The water is clean in Tajikistan, thats why Samarkand city in Uzbakistan has the same water because it comes through the Tajikistan, actually Samarkand used to be part of Tajikistan. Whole uzbakistani land (not tashkent) used to belong to the Ancient Tajik people for many centuries. By dumb ass Russians Lenin divided the Tadjik lands into two country.
