  • working on his balance will improve him tremendously as a hitter. He has great hand to eye coordination now if he is balanced and uses his hips he will put an extra 50-100 feet onto the ball.

  • another thing he does is when he lands with his front foot he lands with the heel first instead of the toe. This is natural for kids as they have been taught this all their lives through walking. However, in batting the toe touches first and then the heel follows. The reason for this ofcourse is cause when you push your weight onto the heel you fall over. You will notice after every swing he is falling over, the reason is cause he is off balance. Toe first than heel.

  • he could hit even better if he had better mechanics , right now his back foot is facing back to the catcher. This causes the weight on the back foot to be on the outside part of the leg instead of the inner thigh. In other words he is hitting that well without using his hips. Simply get his back foot pointing straight and make sure his back knee is in front of his back foot and this will help keep his weight on the inner part of his leg.

  • this kids amazing. 1 small concern though, i noticed on his step a few times he steps to the side or "steps in the bucket" try to get him out of that habit. there was one year i stepped in the bucket for the 1st half of the season batting about 250. and then i stopped and i finished batting the second half batting about 470. this year i didn't have the habit at all. i finished spring and summer ball 420. 1 HR and 11 RBI's not stepping in the bucket 1 time

  • that kid is awesome question: how fast was the machine?
