  • you should do a 0-60 of the 2012 passat tdi

  • @1Pueblito Yep ... just as soon as we can!

  • Just a heads up, someone else stole the video, and put it up here: /watch?v=vWW07yo-EnI

  • @creamnpuffs Many thanks for the heads up. Looks like they are stealing many videos. YouTube doesn't look kindly on content thieves.

  • I had this car for 3 days. 2gear went to 75 kph 3 to 130kph. Did u shift to early? Red line is a lie.

  • 8.3 seconds

  • my dad has one of these and he gets 55 mph thats 600 miles per full tank of gas!!!!

  • @5400570 600 miles per full tank of diesel you must mean

  • @BERLINGO4255 yea i meant 55 mpg (not mph)

  • why do you drive with your high beams on they shine in the eyes of other drivers

  • @counkev Because you know, sometimes the roads are all clear of drivers...

  • Ahh my goodness... clean tdi diesel!!!! so much better these days!!!

Say no too gas :) lol (even though imma be picking up a subaru impreza next week :X)

  • wow 4500 rpm just seems so much for a diesel...

  • That's some fast shifting done by the transmission. Nice.

  • 08,17 0-60

  • 0-60 in 8.34 seconds pretty good for size of the truck. Bit quicker than my 06 Charger V6.

  • @josh1303 Truck??? It's an A3... that's a compact car.

  • @josh1303 size of the truck, what do you mean ?

  • Wow it red-lines hella early.

  • @NigguhJason cause its a diesel.

  • fast shifting !

  • @MrCosmin94 its an auto with DSG :D

  • look at how fast the Tach Needle is....i like it when they are like that and dont Lag Behind

  • Too bad the VWs we get in the US are built in Brazil and Mexico and aren't reliable.

  • @ghrpdx the VW made in Romania or Poland aren't reliable as well. Same thing for the Audis made in Bavaria :p

  • lol floored it and still managed 38.9 mpg, now that's why more cars should be diesel

  • God bless germany technology !!!

  • great car...

  • These cars are pooor id rather have a 1.6 3 door ford focus just as fast but alot cheaper

  • my jeep is faster than this. come on audi...... I have the 4.0 inline 6 that does 0-60 in 7.5

  • @drippinblood28 Put a 6 liter hemi in your Jeep and report back, including gas mileage this time.

  • @mnhsty you mean the srt8? that thing is beast and has the same mileage as any other comparable suv like the porsche cayenne turbo which is actually slower

  • @drippinblood28 your rubbish jeep does 14 MPG, this does 45.

  • @volnick1986 ok, first off can you take this offroad? no. Second, your Audi isn't half as reliable as my 4.0 liter jeep. My car will last 400k if not 500k miles like many Jeeps with the 4.0 liter inline 6. Third, all your expensive repairs for you "luxury" car (the interior isn't anything special) will meet up to the same costs you save at the gas station. In addition, I can tow much more. Ohh,, and not to mention disel always costs more at all gas stations. Btw, new 2011 jeep gc is awesome

  • @drippinblood28 in europe to own a 4.0litre jeep is rubbish and insane.

1.costs on repair for a VW 1.9 or 2.0tdi are cheap in europe

2.everybody knows the interior of American cars (Jeep, Dodge,Chrysler) is crap.

    3.VW tdis do also 400K mi+ I saw 1.9TDI on taxis with 500Kmi

4.in europe diesel is cheaper and you can find it everywhere.

    5.if i want to go offroad I take the Touareg V6TDI 18c/25h

  • @volnick1986 I've heard from people in europe that jeeps are considered rare and expensive. I guess the repair costs are much different to those of the U.S. so for me its cheaper to own one. For you, its better to own an audi because you live in Europe so the repair costs are low for that car. Btw, you're lucky cuz diesel is cheaper in Europe. And everybody knows that touareg's suck offroad...a jeep is superior for sure in that category. As far as interior, take a look at the 2011 jeep gc

  • @drippinblood28 Jeeps?? Expensive??? Now this is a good laugh. Rare they are indeed because almost nobody buys them. They are way more cheaper then Merc ML, BMW X5, Q7, Cayenne or XC90 Volvo. 99% of Jepps GC here have diesel engines powered by Mercedes Benz. It's very very hare to see a gasoline Jeep on the streets. Only crazy people buy gasoline Jeeps here.

    Look at the new 2011 Touareg 2. That's quality and design! The 4.2 V8 TDI with 340 PS and 590 lb·ft (800 N·m) kicks your ass. 0-60 5,8secs

  • @volnick1986 Yes, I've heard Jeeps are considered sort of luxury in Europe. The diesel jeeps are still great, but the 4.0 inline 6 is literally legendary (it's been in production for like 20 years). The 2011 touareg is a nice car, but not for offroading. And a supercharged srt8 jeep beats this sucker easily with a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds so there. But seriously take a look at the 2011 jeep gc. I thinks the jeeps are much better for the price than a merc ml, bmw x5, q7, or cayenne.Volvo is great

  • @drippinblood28 You like American, I like German... end of story!

  • @drippinblood28

Most American cars are considered to be pants in Britain, probably the same for the rest of Europe.

Although a mate of mine has bought a mid 90's lincoln town car V8 thing. Whilst it's painfully big and lazy (almost barge like) it's ridiculously comfortable inside!! Like sitting on an old leather couch in your living room (probably bigger than my living room actually lol).

  • @G5een Sounds reasonable hopefully that will change with the burst of a dozen new 2011 models. Sounds promising and i hope it will be. I hear the ford fiesta is a hit in europe or something. Anyways, the 2011 jeep grand cherokee and 2012 srt8 should be sweet!

  • @drippinblood28 Jeeps in europe rare and expenisive? They're pretty much considered a piece of shit brand. if people want an expensive SUV in Europe they buy Porche Cayenne Turbo, Range Rover, BMW X5 / X6 or Audi Q7

  • @fentonjd I was in Germany and strangely a lot of Germans like and want Jeeps. Mostly the Grand Cherokee. It's crazy.

  • @musubi69 Well, as German i have to tell you that the Germans you met are exceptionnal. American cars don't have a good reputation here (except Ford, which is almost a german Brand for most of us :p), including Opel. Nevertheless, I like Armerican cars, and Opeldrivers are going to throw rocks at me for saying this.

By the way, Opeldrivers believe the Insignia is a German invention, and that Vauxhall, Holden and Buick stole it. No joke.

  • @volnick1986 Take a look at the 2011 jeep grand cherokee please! It is superior offroad (suspension boosts car up to 11.1 inches). It has a new 3.6 liter v6 delivering 290 hp with lots of torque in low range. The interior is comparable to a lexus...that is the competetition. It also has selec-terrain just like a land rover.

  • @drippinblood28 The new Touareg 2!

    watch?v=wCD4AlhFiQ4

    watch?v=Q5G-STHwhDU

    watch?v=IdK3-tCnpkE Touareg V8 TDI 137 MPH

    enjoy!

  • @drippinblood28

don't tell me that the interior of the Audi is worse that your jeep. because nobody will believe you. americans have the worst designs (and materials) on cars.

when I was in the Sates with a 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer and i found it horrible. the finishing was just crap!

  • 0-60: 8.3 sec

  • @junktoyota Thats a perfect time ! Lol , Gosh slow but it is a Hatchback you know , Give it credit for what it is now . :)

  • Its all about the torque! ;D forget Horse Power

  • This car is a full second slower then the VW Golf TDI. Still, love Audi!! =D

  • i wish they released the 3.0 tdi engines over seas down here in america

    those things HAUL ASS

  • none to 60 in 8 seconds not bad for a sedan how much is it

  • Hatchback

  • O.K

    Edit:

none to 60 in 8 seconds not bad for a HATCHBACK how much is it (U.S currency please)

  • $31,182.87. When converted from £20,375

  • that aint too bad affordable

  • @atgskater14 Thats alot for a hatch

  • its luxury audi is luxury

  • An A4 isnt that much more.

  • Actually, Diesel makes even more sense here in germany, because you pay about 30 eurocents less for the litre because of smaller taxes. (about 4 to 6 Dollars the gallon)

Thanks mpgomatic for showing me affordable american cars xD

    greetings from germany

  • Thanks, Felyxorez!

  • @Felyxorez

It makes even more sense here in sweden where diesel costs around 6-7 $ per gallon while petrol costs 7-7.50$..

  • @vikingby why more? thats almost the same difference than in Germany :p

  • @Felyxorez Well, almost, bout not entirely ;P..

  • @Felyxorez

never heard of a german liking american cars!

  • woweewow, that is quick revving.

  • What lag at the beginning!

  • @bg1379 hes launching it its not lag

  • @r3838

Looking at his other videos I do not see him launching any car. I don't know. I just noticed this because I just read a CD article citing the awful lag in VolksAudi's DSG transmission.

  • I started launching a while back. Some vehicles take to it better than others. Some not at all. I don't have the luxury of spending a ton of time on getting it just right.

An abandoned airstrip is at the top of the list of things to buy when this thing takes off ...

  • Hmmm, Seems kinda slow to me. Especially at the price point for one of these.

  • Specs show 8.9 or 9.1, depending on where you look. I was able to knock out an 8.5 without any prep. Take another look at the MPG gauge. :)

  • Yes, It does get some good gas mileage. But since diesel is more money anyway. Usually its about 10 cents more per gallon where I live, Would it really be worth it to get this car?

  • You have to do the math.

To make things easy to see, plug your annual mileage, fuel prices, and the MPG ratings of two vehicles into the MPGomatic mileage calculator (on the website).

Diesel fuel prices traditionally rise in the winter and fall in the summer, due to the demand for heating oil.

  • Oh I see, Would you recommend diesel fuel?

If you was to buy a A3, would you buy the regular gasoline version or the diesel?

I also hear diesel is not as reliable and is not good in the winter as it does not like to start up. I dont know much about diesel myself. =)

  • Diesel rocks! More torque. More MPGs. Forget about whatever you might have heard about diesel in the past ... it's changed. The new clean diesel engines are remarkable - fun to drive and fuel efficient.

I would love to have an A3 TDI (diesel) in the garage, if I could afford it. :) I'd personally wait for a Quattro version, tho (looking out at the snow that's piling up outside at the moment).

  • ahh yes I agree. Lot's of snow outside.

I'm not sure about diesel myself. I had a friend who had a early 90s Mercedes with diesel and it smelled really bad and was loud. Made alot of pollution, gas mileage was pretty good but acceleration was lacking.

For me its a trade off, I want abit of both. good mileage and good acceleration. =)

  • That was then. This is now ... ;)

A test drive in the A3 TDI, Jetta TDI, or BMW 335d will open your eyes. Cars CAN be fuel-efficient and fun to drive.

  • you should test the Escalade or Yukon hybrid. =)

  • @Forgoten214

He has tested the Tahoe, which is equivalent to the Yukon.

  • @Forgoten214 Are you kidding?! I mean, how can you compare modern diesels with some rubbish your friend drove?
