I grew up listening to Weezer but I matured to The Rentals. Why these guys haven't gotten bigger is beyond me considering the "indie" scene pretty much sounds like The Rentals now

Yep. The girls shred in this band. I couldn't believe how spot on the violin (viola??) was live. Usually that instrument has a hard time translating in a club sound system. The Rentals sounded great.

Yes. Matt Sharp was essential to Weezer. Rivers is amazing but the combination of the two was total magic. I am sure they butted heads and that is probably part of the mojo that was the first two Weezer records. However, 7 More Minutes might be a more important album to me.

Is one of the people in this video Rachel Hayden? Is the situation like with Weezer where new players are continually rotating in and out of the band?

are you 12? an EP originally meant extended play single, back in the 80's where dinosaurs roamed and there was no such thing as a hybrid or instant message. Maybe your junior high history book may speak of the 80's where big hair ruled and an old guy from hollywood was president....geez

i had a 45 collection that never grew beyond fifteen or twenty singles, with titles such as "me and you and a dog named boo" and "tears of a clown when there's no whole world round," none of which played longer than 3:00 or 4:00 minutes. I would have to say most of them ended somewhere between 2:45 and 3:15 per side. that was basically my grade six and seven collection. "go ask alice" was my favorite book.

I like their beautiful stuff a lot too, but I fell in love with the weird stuff. "A Little bit of you in Everything" has a tint of it, but I'm sorry to say that "Last romantic day" misses it. A certain tension, I don't know. Perhaps it's just the fuzz.

Well, Rachel Haden was a founding member. This is true. However, she didn't make that many contributions on Return of the Rentals or 7 More Minutes. She recorded maybe a couple of vocals. I also don't believe she toured with them. Whenever someone things of "that chick from the Rentals" they think of Cherie. Well, I do anyway.

When I saw them earlier in September, Matt said the new album should be released early-midway through next year. Oddly enough Weezer's album should be released around that time. Wouldn't it be awesome if they toured together?
