Hi, I was interested in purchasing the GKS190 but I noticed like all other Bosch Professional Circular Saws it doesn't have a riving knife? Does this not make it more dangerous to use than a saw with one?
@distortedvisi0n Bosch leave off the riving knife these days similar to most saws in the States for years. They believe a riving knife is very seldom necessary and are able to improve the durability and strength of the blade guard because of the lack of riving knife. They are also allowing the user to experiment with thinner blades. The lack of riving knife also helps when it comes to using the saw as a plunge saw.
