And also, roads might be traumatic, because friends have died on roads in horrific explosions. So, it might be good idea to not live in urban area for 6 month or a year, but in rural area, where there is hardly a car at all. Rent is also likely cheaper there. Then live with family. Otherwise you'll be stressed out on cars/roads, and also resentful of (living with) your family for not providing you with the relief from war situation, the home that you expected so much while in Iraq.
Also, I know through magazines and book, that in military they try to sell you only war movie/books. To make you think that's all there is in life. So detached from war, you feel almost useless. It's not how your person actually is, as much as how the military tried hard to make you into, for the convenience of how they employ you. Don't look at war movie/books, and go to the beaches or parks a lot, if you can. Get used to normal life, where sand+vegetation is not synonymous with danger.
good poems... I was also in camp scunion from 03 to 04 i stayed at the second floor building at the end of the hall. I was with 4ID and I remember when you guys came to replaced us.
