I sure do hope your son enjoys trail (North Country Trail?) enough to give the AT a crack. I met Bill Erwin, and his dog once on the AT, Have you heard of Bill. He's a great guy. He wrote a book called Blind Courage. A great read, very inspiring.

I will be hiking only 300 miles of trail here in wisconsin this summer with my son and service dog. If my son enjoys this hike when he turns 18 we will be taking on the at as well. Abby my service dog would be too old to make the trail by then but hopefully my service dog at that time will be happy to make the trail.
