@RainhadoCanto4 I suspect Fanny Crosby is rejoicing in Heaven. I do understand, though, your appreciation of hymns as they were written. I believe this arrangement is likely to be appreciated by those who did not grow up with traditional hymns. Our big God can work His will with both arrangements.
@RainhadoCanto4 Well, Mr Arbiter of Everything, maybe someone will be drawn to the Word through this. I don't think the Lord is offended by this beautiful tune, so don't you be. I love all the old hymns, but I was raised in church; not everyone had that opportunity. We're in the fire-escape business here, any way is better than no way...
@RainhadoCanto4 I'm a worship leader at a contemporary church. For younger generations, the only way to keep old hyms alive is to revamp them, make them sound more modern. I'd be willing to bet that the original composers wouldn't mind others redoing their songs and using them to reach others today.
You mentioning the fact that you are in a "contemporary church" speaks volumes! I have no doubt that when you debase something you are sure to "add to the numbers!" Vulgarity has that leaven effect! And numbers is what it is all about, isn't it?
Indeed, church is no more than an ENTERTAINMENT center for your kind! You may boast of the fact that you contribute to the decay of Society!
"For I am the LORD, I change not" but you ensure that the gap widens between Him and you!
@RainhadoCanto4 I feel sad that Christians label one another. Christians are perhaps more judgemental than anyone else. "My kind" has planted a church in our small town to reach the unreached. We provide a place for broken people. A place for them to feel like they are accepted. Traditional church is wonderful, but some people just aren't spiritually fed there. I reach people that you can't, and you reach people that I can't. And it never has been about numbers. We grow by building relationships
@jordanarrpresley Spiritually fed is by the Full counsel of God, the whole Word of God. I hope this church mentioned does just that. Col 2:8-11 1 Peter 2
As Newborn Babes 1 Therefore, (A)putting aside all [a]malice and all deceit and [b]hypocrisy and [c]envy and all [d](B)slander, 2 (C)like newborn babies, long for the [e](D)pure [f]milk of the word, so that by it you may (E)grow [g]in respect to salvation, 3 if you have (F)tasted [h](G)the kindness of the Lord.
@RainhadoCanto4 You assuming what kind of church I belong to simply because I used the word "comtemporary" has nothing to do with this beautiful song. My point, originally, was that redoing hyms is just another way to reach people who prefer to listen to newer music. There isn't a single thing wrong with it. I'm so sorry that you feel it's such a disgrace, but I can assure you that there are more important things to argue about. All we are doing by labeling each other is tearing each other down.
@RainhadoCanto4 Who wants to be a part of a group of people who tear each other down? Not me. Certainly not someone who isn't a Christian. I'm sure you're strong in your faith, but good luck reaching people with such a pessimistic attitude.
@jordanarrpresley Actually, there is one Who prophesied His very "pessimistic attitude": 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14 (King James Bible) I can do no better than He! I KNOW I am in very GOOD company! You?
@RainhadoCanto4 No one can do better than He. And I know that the company I am in is good as well. I like Matthew 5:9. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
@jordanarrpresley I enjoy the Traditional hymns, but am not against mixing old and new as long as the old doesn't focus on Humans, rather than praising God, which many do do.
This video is such a statement I have put it on my playlist and watch it daily. It moves me everytime I listen and watch it. It is all about DOING the Will of God.....helping others..spreading the news of the gospel...that is what it is all about.

What a pity such beautiful hymns must be butchered like this!
Fanny Crosby would be turning in a grave if she heard such travesty done with her work! Simply pathetic rendering of a beautiful hymn!
