I always ponder on what happened to the kokiri when I listen to this? Did Gannon wipe them out? Did they all die out and have no successors? I always thought it be neat to see Saria's ghost playing this song on an ocarina as Link passed her, she would glance at him and say something like, "You remind me of my friend... from long, long ago..."

@TheShadowEclipse841 That's what I thought when I was learning the Great Spin, but I realized that it couldn't be possible because A: OoT Link does not transform into a wolf like TP Link (although the wolf could represent OoT Link's spirit) and B: OoT Link never wears anything remotely similar to the outfit the Stalfos guy wears. Hope that clears things up.

So yes, the wolf form represents the spirit of the Hero, and this passing of the spirit of the Hero is very briefly mentioned in SS. Remmber this.... Kokiri Forest is hidden from the world. you only visit it in OoT because Link knows where it is, he is an honorary kokiri. IN Twilight Princess however Link is not a kokiri. To him, the same lost woods that was, to the previous LInk a safe place where he grew up and most likely played often was to the Twlight Princess Link a scary and inhositible land. The music here is the same as the Lost Woods but turned creepy. It's still probably played by saria somewhere offscreen

The widely believed theory is that when Zelda sent Link back in time after OoT the timeline split. The part of the timeline that was the future eventually went into Windwaker, while the timeline in the past went into MM and then Twilight Princess. After the OoT credits, it shows Link talking to Zelda again as a kid (In the past timeline) and many believe he is warning her Ganondorf will break the seal. This happens much later and the sages try to stop him, and fail. That is Twilight Princess
