Pro tip if you think there's a trap: sneak. If you sneak on a pressure plate and walk to the end of the block with the pressure plate while sneaking, you will no longer touch the pressure plate, but you will still be standing on the block. That way you can keep going past the trap :D

Alright. I just made this trap and I even made it better. If you make the fall really far, like to bedrock, you can kill some one even on peaceful in full diamond armor. Best part is if you have some water right at the bottom where the last space is in the landing area, you can push items off to the side. With that you can make a collection area and even rig an alarm to let you know you have items waiting for you. Took a bit of work, but it rocks ^_^

dont' use lava, use falling damage, you can collect their items!

now the really smart move is to do the inverse, have a hidden button on the wall remove the stairs to acces your hidden awesome mine, while the normal stairs just leads to a "unfinished" mine close to the surface. (placing the trap in the "hidden" part increases security even more)

When I try to cover up the redstone connecting to the pressure plate, the first "step" doesn't pull back till after I get off the pressure plate. In short, it's like a lag. I have 5 steps. The 4 pull back when triggered, but the first stays, but then when I get off, the first quickly pulls back and then forward with all the others. It's quite odd. Any tips?
