@bonyan127 Yes, that is indeed me. Sadly, I don’t play Tetris much these days; I just don’t seem to have the spare time that I used to, and when I do, I don’t get around to playing Tetris – I usually just play some old platformer or SHUMP instead. I have played Facebook Tetris, and I can’t say I’m a fan; it’s just too slow and laggy (particularly if you have a naff internet connection such as myself).

@necessarykarl I'm not sure I fully understand you're question. Are you after the program Allegro 4.2.1? If so, than this is available from the Lockjaw website (see the video description for a link) Just download than install this and Lockjaw should be good to go.

sorry if this is a stupid question but how do you install skins onto lockjaw?

@no3ggs4u This is not a stupid question; it’s a common one. You cannot install skins on Lockjaw, you have to make/edit them. To do this open up the ljblocks.bmp and ljbg.jpg in a paint program (such as MS Paint) than edit away until you’re hearts content. - Jono

Yes I do. Starring (mostly) at the "piece preview" is the best way to play faster - besides lots of practice that is. - Jono

@jono103 Excuse me, but I need your opinion - I recently just started playing Tetris, and I'm fairly good, (01:16:07) but I need your opinion:

Do you recommend using "Z and X" for turning blocks and using the arrow keys for moving them around? In case you didn't know, I'm using a different block system, and I'm not sure whether to adjust to Lockjaw's default or keep to my original system. Please reply, thanks Jono!

A common question this one. Ok, my preferred control method for playing Tetris is in fact the same as the default settings for LockJaw (Z and X for rotating the blocks, D for hold, and the arrow keys for directing the pieces). Whilst these are the control settings I use they are certainly not the most ergonomic to use (particularly if you’re a left handed person like myself); I only use these settings because I am EXTREMEY comfortable/familar with them.

i think what type of keys or console you play on makes a huge difference on your time because depending on which your more comfortable with so play with controllers if keyboard isnt your thing

@jono103 Well played mate, do you try to take in the preview and the board all at once by sort of glazing your eyes over if you know what i mean? how far down the list do you think? Or is it a case of just looking out for the odd ones you need?

@keflar5 Good question mate. I actually play (or should I say “used to play”) in a rather small windowed screen.- never full screen mode. This way its much easier for me to view the entire screen/playfield, rather than having to focus on the “grid” and take quick glances at the “piece preview”. Thanks for your interest.

No worries,

I use Z, X for rotate, d for hold, arrow keys for directions, and upfor hard drop.

As for game settings: (rot=SRS, lock=Move reset, rnd=7-piece Bag, spin=3-corner T, speed=Zero)

(grav=Naive, drop=None, are=0 ms, das=116 ms Instant, shadow=Faint color, next=8 pieces)

that's pretty interesting, I assumed you'd be using the home keys (asdf jkl; or some combination of.) thee was a thread a while back on TC where caffeine decided that was the optimal configuration. Although you are faster than him, so...

comfortable with. For me it would be alot harder
