  • this is the most awesome video in the world and billiumweiss is a troll

  • (Constructive criticism not meant to be offensive in any way) but i honestly cant see the creases, because the video is a fairly bad quality.

  • I love how you just toss the unit, like "whatever..."

  • Valentines day :)

  • i know you have heard this a thousand times, but where are you from again?

my guesses are: Finland, Sweedan, some form of Dutch

  • I real not like

  • "The other top right corner" xDD

  • @billiumweiss I actually find his video better than the highest rated one on youtube on how to fold this. So my advice to you is to stop trolling or soon everyone, yes even that old lady on the park bench feeding pigeons, will hate you.

  • can you use oragami paper also instead of reguler paper

  • But seriously now, wtf is an asshat? great vid, love it.

  • BAHAHAHA, normal paper paper

  • oooh this is so magical!

  • @billiumweiss Man, it's been a while since I got a troll on this video. x.x

  • @billiumweiss You were trolling. Otherwise you wouldn't have told me that I didn't show the paper enough when I obviously did. If my fingers were any thinner they'd break off, how exactly to you figure I should show the paper better? Plus, you're the only one with this "problem" others can follow me fine. PLUS, even if it WAS a bad tutorial, it's free and I'm not forcing you to watch it.

There's criticism and then they're just plain bitching.

  • @billiumweiss don't like it find another video you loser. this is one of the easiest videos i've seen.

  • @billiumweiss

The rose is beautiful and it was a great idea. If this is what you go around doing all day then you are the one who needs a job. Asshat.

  • @billiumweiss Legitimately pissed off at a video? I don't think there's any reason to get pissed off at a computer..

    You get a job, asshat.

  • @billiumweiss i followed his perfectly. and this is the first origami thing i made unless you count a paper air plane... haha

  • How big or paper do you use

  • it was great...................

  • I've tried this over and over but I can't get it right. Tomorrow is my friend's birthday, and she loves orgigami, so I though I'd make this for her. But I think it might be too hard for someone as inexperinced as me. :'(

  • jag har fastnat pa 3:01 ..

  • 神奇 @@

  • i struggled with the green pieces, but they aren't any difficult! now i know how! thank you!

  • i think the swedish dude is sexy!

  • ingredients... i just love it! :-D you seem to be good fun!

  • I love how you just throw the modules after you're done folding them...this video is very helpful, thank you for making it!

  • everytime i make the red one there is a small gap between the two folds should that be there??? i can't see in the video so i dont know.....

  • it sez hes swedish at the end..

  • Your english is very good :) Love your accent; are you swedish?

  • Yup. Could you tell by the accent alone or did you cheat and look at my profile? :P

  • oieee men !!!!!!!!! gracias por el videooo (Y) tiene tiempo k buscaba como hacer la rosa....gracias

  • will post its work??

  • in some stores you can find coloured post its without glue on the back, and they'll do just fine! But it has to be a perfect square and without any adhesive...

  • thanks for making this tutorial:) I've got the exact kind of paper, it's post-it's without the sticky part:P

    Ha det bra!

  • Lol, finally! Somebody who doesn't need to ask me what paper I'm using! :P

That Speeding Cars song sounds nice though, I'm going to have to learn that.

  • hehe:) If you'd like the music sheets just send me your e-mail. And you might like other of Imogen Heap's songs if you haven't heard of her before:) Thank you again for posting this:)

  • This is a great tutorial! I was able to make it on the first try.... However, the paper I used is pretty big, so the rose looks big & a bit strange when I open it. What size paper is used in the videos?

  • If you search for magic rose cube on youtube you'll find people that have made this thing out of big squares, it works just as well it's just that it looks better if it's small. :P The paper I use is 9 cm x 9 cm.

  • awesome. thanks again!

  • Ok now i know it doesn't matter about the size but im confused or i don't know how to fold at 4:42 the part where you fold its very confusing do you mind making a video or explaining because i don't get it.

  • It's the exact same fold that you do at 2:50 you just have to do it on the other side of the paper. Practice making that fold on one of the sides so that you know just what part of the paper goes where. Then when you're at 4:42 just make a fold like that. It does look confusing but most of the paper will want to be folded in the places you want it to fold. :S

  • dude u need ur size of square i used a bigger one and its a lot diffrent it doesnt fit

  • Dude...they're squares. If it didn't fit you didn't use squares or you folded it wrong. It doesn't matter how big it is.

  • n he did a step wrong i watched another one and i did it in like a min

  • Good for you. x.x

  • I don't have the size of that paper or the color i have origami paper... i don't wanna cut it because i will mess up...

  • It doesn't matter what size, just make squares of any paper you can find. If you don't have colored paper: try coloring white paper with something. Even if you use craons.

If you shade them softly red and green it will look pretty enough and kind of artsy.

  • thnx a lot 5 stars

  • that was prettyeasy to follow i liked it yay hahahaha

  • Dang, I used papers with one side white.

Still, the design is simple, yet ingenious.

  • no woz i got past

  • can u plz help me im stuck on 3:17

  • Thank you for the two videos! I'll be working on this one later.

I have some origami paper specifically designed for roses, but I'm wondering if I should use a thicker paper or a thinner paper? The rose paper I have is quite thick and I wanted to know if it's easier to complete this design with something thinner.

  • Use thick paper! Since it's supposed to be a box-shape it needs to be rigid and stuff, so thick paper is good. However, I recommend that you make one practice rose out of your normal paper first and make another one with the rose paper afterwards.

That way you can see which works best. They don't take that long to do either way. ;)

  • Thanks a bunch, I'll take your advice! :]

  • u can get it at ebay or at el centro mall michaels

  • Or you can make one yourself for free. x.x

  • wow the last part on the green one is hard!!!!

  • you have a very deep voice:)

  • thank you? :P

I don't know how to respond to that, heh. x.x

  • cool!

  • you could at least try to be original, peon. x.x

  • lol i hate haters. nice vid btw

  • you kan git origami paper form hoby loby

(at least thats how i got mine)

  • I got mine from Borders(a book store)

  • sorry

  • lol ingredients =P

  • Your tutorial has helped me immensely. i usualy cant learn how to fold from videos but this time i had to have the video to learn how. keep up the great work

  • nice tutorial, this sure ain't for beginners, I just completed it and can fold out the leaves (green0, and can "almost" fold out the petals (which make it look like a rose) but my version looks crude and un- rosy, anyways im going to try to minaturize it! think 4 times smaller than your version, wish me luck! :)

  • good luck...you'll need it for a rose 4 times as small. :S it's going to be tricky. but cute if you finish it!

  • Es increible! lo voy a intentar... (it's a beautiful video, I will try to do it). Thank you!

  • waht have you done with the sound? my subwoofer kills me!

  • you've probably set the bass too loud. x.x you don't own a dance-club man, turn it down. unless you do own a dance-club.

  • i cannot make this!! can someone do it for me or something??

  • so does yours, my friend...so does yours.

  • LOL ingredients

  • i dont want to annoy you but could you make another video maybe a private one just explainig how to make the green module a bit better sorry i cant get it

  • Yeah...

  • haha. i have been looking for a rose for so long, and happened upon this, which is a bonus rose from what i want. happy now. you also made me laugh with your little inserts. btw, your english is really really good, and even those of us who have spoken english from birth make mistakes like that. its alright. and thank you for letting us know you are swedish. i knew you were from around that area, but not sure exactly where. cheers

    Peace as always

  • hey, thank you. that makes me happy to hear. it feels good to help people, even though I learned this originally from a tutorial online myself.

    here, have a cookie.

  • Which one did you learn it from i wanna see it O_O

  • I actually haven't been able to find it again. that's why I made this tutorial. because nobody else on the web seems to have a tutorial up. :S

  • well thx anyway!!

  • Nevermind! Hehe. Sorry.. I might need help later on though :)

  • ya me 2!

  • Could the square be any size? Because I'm using regular paper and my paper doesn't look like yours. o.0

  • Thanks for this video!

  • After a million hours. I made my first rose. :>

  • i love ur accent its so cute!! how old are you?

  • I wish I was making cake. oh I wish...

  • that's cool... I'm going to try it for sure.

btw, I don't know why the others are complaining on your english!! I can understand it very well... if you gonna make other video like that, make it in your language and let them find a translator :)

and yes I'm not good in english ;)

  • sonobe units

  • wait nvm

  • Rubik's cube anyone?

  • Either you fall under the category of genius, or non-genius, that's the sad truth....heh try driving stick shift while talking to your cousin on your cell-phone, asking him how well his piano lessons went, without an instuctor beside you. Some people can do it , some people can't.

  • most cars in sweden are stick shifts. I don't even know HOW to drive an automatic. x.x I guess you just...use the gas pedal.

  • the thing that makes it a bit difficult is you use paper that's colored on both sides, so people who use origami paper which has a white side and a colored side, sort of don't know where to begin.

  • I'm pretty sure this model is best made WITHOUT origami paper. origami paper is kinda bendable and wrinkly, isn't it? normal paper is more stiff and square so you can fold/unfold the rose better.

if you have two colored paper, I honestly don't know where you need to begin, so sorry.

  • this sux

    its so hard

  • that's what your mom said. (I had to say it man)

  • i rekon

  • practice on ur english.....i can't really understand you or even hear you...sorreee...btw, nice vid ^___^

  • I wanna cryyy..I'm not able to do part 2:55 :'( HELPPP

  • Yayy i got 2:55..but now iam not able to get 8:30

  • the fold at 8:30 is exactly the same folk as the one at 4:12. it just looks a bit different since the green bit has an extra fold on it. try comparing it to the red piece of paper and folding it exactly the same? :)

  • oh, just remember the language of flowers. one red rose means "I love you", yellow means friendship and white means "I'm sorry".

just so you don't accidentally tell someone you love them or something. :P

  • =D i made a couple with 7.5 cm paper, and then i decided to give it a shot with the 3.5 cm paper. it worked!! now i have this cute little rose cube that fits in the palm of my hand! i'm so excited.

  • 3.5 cm? that's insanely small. now try making a kawasaki rose that small. :P

  • kawasaki rose?? never folded one b4... i'll look it up and give it a try though! =p

  • wow, thanks!! i saw pictures of this on origami websites, but could never find anywhere to learn. then i realized that there must be something on youtube!! haha your accent is great!! again, thanks a lot for posting this!!

  • Thank you for putting this video on youtube! I'm one of those weird people who can't lear my reading or looking at picutres. I have to SEE it being done. Thank you. This is a cool origami craft! (Even if I cant make it myself xD)

  • I think your video sucks!!! I can't understand your accent and how can you not know where to find origami paper? You can get at craft stores!

  • 1. don't watch it then.

    2. everyone else apparently understands my accent, maybe you're just a bit dim?

    3. there are no craft stores around where I live, that's what I mean when I say I don't know where to find any. I could order it online but then I'd have to buy bundles and it might arrive all bent and stuff. plus you don't actually NEED origami paper on this one. so I don't use it!

are you sure you're not dim?

  • i like your accent! lol 'Grease' :P

  • this was the HARDEST thing i have ever done i want to but i cant fold it

  • its so cute how there are so many guys on youtube doing origami! hehe

  • hey, the ladies do love getting a paper rose on the first date. *winkwink*

  • Or a real rose inside a paper box!

  • real roses die. I don't like giving away things that die. :P like "here's a gift, it'll only last a couple of weeks and you have to water it every day... have fun!"

  • I know! A rose-scented rose box!

  • i used to look for the instructions everywhere, but i couldn't find them. Then, today i remembered this model, searched for it on youtube and voila, i finally found it! thx for posting this video.

  • that's actually why I made the video, I couldn't find the instructions anywhere. and I thought people would want to learn. :)

  • what size is the paper?

  • made this 1 once... but forgot how to.. so thx for this vid ^^ now trying to find out how to make a nice stem for it... must b perfect for a special person...

  • thank you for posting this! i can finally make it!

  • i love this video :) thanks so much! it would make a really nice gift for mother's day coming up.

i kept wondering what your accent was right when you said "did i mention i'm swedish?" haha nice :)

  • all swedish people sound like that when they talk, it's funny. though we don't add "ja" after every sentence like the swedish stereotypes do in the movies. ;)
