What is any%?

Fastest possible completion time using whatever means necessary. Opposite of 100%, which is the fastest possible completion time while collecting everything in the game (like all Pieces of Heart, etc).

any% requires insane path planing.

0% might be imposable, so we won't include that :P

100% is without a doubt the hardest to do. I didn't really do much of the route planning for either run (MrGrunz, Slowking and petrie911 are the great minds who did that, and I'll be sure to make this very known when I finish the any%). I'm doing the any% run myself, but the 100% is going to be much, much longer, so I've considered coauthoring it with a few other TASers if we ever decide that we want to do it.

When you are in dungeons is it time limit there too? i feel the time thingy annoying... i mean you cant take your time you have to hurry to figure out what to do so you end up playing with a walkthrough lol.

there is a time limit, but u have to remember that u can slow down time by half. i completed the game without a guide without a problem, u should just reset time before u enter a dungeon so u have the full time

At the start when you look out at the telescope, outside falls a Moon's Tear, you have to take it, go back to South Clock Town, when there there is a Deku Flower(As I call them :P) Basically when you get close to it some Deku Scrub flies in and says it's his property and all that, what you've gotta do is come closer to him, talk to him and trade the Moon's Tear for that flower, then fly from the flower to the upper ledge of the clock tower. At midnight of the Final Day there are stairs in there.

as soon as the time is done the moon reaches earth. You are entitled to fight the boss at this time. If you run out of time the game will do a dramtic cutscene of everyone dieing or w/e and then you have to start all over again no save

If you watch his video 'Super Mario 64 "0 star" TAS by Swordless Link (5:39)' very carefully, you can see the program he uses for the first few frames. I just don't know what the program is called, or where I can find it. Any ideas?

The author uses slow down and frame advance in an emulator to control input with 1/60th of a second precision. This speedrun is recorded in a file of button presses at any given 1/60th of a second.

This is all "possible" on the real cartridge, but not feasible by any individual. The author uses the tools to play at a superhuman level and provide entertainment to the viewer.

This is done extremely well. I assume you know what you are doing, but a couple of questions though SL: 1. Why not use the goron mask to roll out of the forest and to the potionshop? Are the frames to transform make the goron roll slower than sidehopping?

2. I think it is best to go get the hookshot before you go to the Woodfall Temple so you can do the Temple all at once instead of in 2 parts. The first and second rooms will go a lot faster if you goron roll and hookshot onto the torches.
