Go beyond the NRA. They're known by real gun rights groups as "Sell-outs" for helping to write and push through all sorts of "feel-good" nonsense restrictions.
I'd love to see Obama's political career come to a quick end, and him put in jail for treason. We need to get Ron Paul in as President, who's pro-gun, pro-freedom, and will not back the UN on their stupid disarmament agenda.
This is a typical Right Wing ploy; be completely off the wall and stupid and nobody will say so because that's rude. Well, it could be rude, but it could also be dead on accurate - here, it is just accurate. Paying taxes is bad but paying rigged prices to oil companies or health insurance companies is OK. There's no "ouch" there? Having your politicians purchased outright is OK as long as they are doing something that you think you want. (?) - that's not an argument, that's stupid.
psssst.. government is charging the oil companies those taxes they charge something near 18%.. and Oil companies actually don't make very profits in comparison to many other industries....
and as far as right wing Ploy?? most of the "bought" politicians are democrats and self proclaimed "progressives"
@PaintMaryconley do you honestly believe that somebody who controlls oil sales should be getting profits? so that he mother earth's precious, very limited oil can be in the hands of some guy who just wants to sell it all away? are you serious? really now, think it through one more time. is this really what u think is the right thing to do for our civilization? you agree 100% with these politics?
@leirgauk what kind of stupid question is this ..? right now OPEC and the FED control oil(a socialist system ). NOT the laws of supply and demand (ie.. capitalism is not controlling the price of oil. like it SHOULD be).
People who carry guns are weakminded, scared individuals who claim they want to protect themselves...from what.. other people with guns? Whatever happened to a good old fashion beat down, which allows someone to live to fight another day?
Nonsense. There is no valid reason to fight except to protect yourself in extremis. Someone attacks an innocent, you don't allow them to live to fight another day! Use the best means to legitimately end the threat, then call the police to clean up the mess.
Who's more scared? Someone who agrees that it's everybody's right to defend themselves with any means, or those who want everybody disarmed because they don't trust others with the responsibility?
.22 LR never dies. It's always plentiful and cheap. If you get a .22 handgun, get a revolver (preferrably an 8-sho0ter or anything made by Taurus). Self-loading pistols in .22 caliber typically aren't known for reliability. Some are, but most aren't. Definately get a shotgun (preferrably Mossberg or Maverick). As for self-loading pistols: Bersa Thunder (.380), GLOCK, SIG/Sauer, Taurus, HK (any model/caliber). .40 S&W is great. Plentiful nowadays. GLOCK makes the best compacts.
Bah, screw that. Get an automatic .22 pistol and put a silencer on it. You'll wonder how you found the .22 useful before you put a can on it. Using one on a revolver increases cylinder gap pressures and makes firing louder.
and we can still vote these bastards out if we reclaim our roots .i have faith in that and that fact that only 25% of the population actually voted for Obama . the other 75% either didn't vote due to disenfranchisement, or voted for another guy. so i think ther is 75% of this country that can mobilize to vote these bastards out. they need to be replaced by people like me and you and the common man
@PaintMaryconley ah, okay :) well thank you for proving yourself completely unworthy of a debate. like many others you are incapable of taking even the smallest glimpse at the other side of the coin. you are a living example of why people should not have a governing power through voting. u honestly believe that some sleezy guy named rico should have the right to buy all the oil in the world and sell it to the highest bidders - who will waste it all rather than save 5/6 of the worlds population.
i don't belive in useing force against the governemyt at this juncture i don't belive we are to that point yet and won't be for at least a few more years . i still think this can and will be turned around . Obama is failing .
PaintMary, I believe you are doing a great service in standing up for the second amendment. No one is forced to own a firearm for self protection in this county; but, they should be allowed to, if they so desire. The forces of gun control are attempting to outlaw firearms for law abiding citizens in an incremental fashion. No criminal will ever obey any law like this, should it be passed. The old adage is still in force. When guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns!
2 cents worth .. practicing with an inexpensive .380 with standard "ball" ammo will expedite your comfort with "owning" a gun at home. I have 6 past female students who chose a .380 with hollowpoint ammo as their all around "home defense' gun of preference because of its size and ease of operation. you still have many choices in Calif. (for now) Just do your homework, be safe and practice adequately for control. That is the best choice. Best wishes...
Don't waste your time with a 22. If you want to go somewhat small get a .380 automatic. It's the same size as a 9 mil. but but has less powder so less kick. Still has prenty of stopping power at close range. They are also relatively inexpensive.
i carry a .25cal because it is so small i can carry it in my pocket and is completly unnoticeable. and before anyone comments that the caliber is too small, remember a .25cal in your pocket is deadlier than 9mm at home.
For personal self-defense get yourself a .38 special revolver with hollow points. (Simplest gun most reliable gun in the design alone). Personally I hit well with them (2'' diameter groups @ 15 yards). Another point is new shooters are often intimidated by semi-autos. Agree with you about Obama and Gun-control.
No they do not "explode" on impact. They are designed to *expand* so they do not over-penetrate thus possibly hitting an un-intended target behind your initial target. You are also less likely to cause fatal injuries as a human targets entry and exit wounds (/w a FMJ) will bleed more than getting hit with a hollowpoint. So, all in all, a "normal" full metal jacket bullet is more likely to cause fatal injury (mass blood loss) than the hollowpoint which will expand upon hitting the target.
So not only are hollowpoints actually less fatal than a full metal jacket, they provide more stopping power (thus stopping the threat against you). Think of it this way: Which is more likely to stop your car. Impacting a single brick, or a(n entire) wall of bricks? In the comparison, think of a single brick as the FMJ (stays the same size), & think of the entire wall of bricks as a hollowpoint (starts out as one brick but expands into a wall).
Not to sound like any bullet can't cause fatal injuries. I see the logic in how a FMJ can be potentially more fatal than a hollowpoint. Although, they do expand inside your target, I think the biggest "fatal factor" would be the specific hit location, but I guess at least you wouldn't bleed to death as quick as w/ a FMJ (just hope the DRs can fix you up from the expanded bullet)! Then again if you're defending yourself, why care about what happens to the person that was attempting to harm *you*!
hollow points don't explode on impact, the whole idea why you should use hollow point is to avoid over penetration..I.E. your bullet not passing through the target and potentially hurting someone on the ohter side...they are also more effective because they cause a larger wound channel...I.E. they are more likely to stop a threat faster with fewer round expended...that is why all law enforcement use them
Great video. I too enjoy Steven's videos. The guy nails it every time. Please stay safe. Hopefully you don't experience any more break ins. Sometimes the mere presence of a gun can scare a criminal away (not too many I know of are eager to charge a person down pointing one at them) or even just the sound of one. Nothing else that I know of sounds like the slide of a firearm going into battery.
I have to say after looking over several of your video responses I certainly have the utmost respect for you! It's nice to see someone willing to stand out of the crowd of the usual Cali Liberal/Democrat society.
Bravo :) I look forward to seeing more of your video responses!
Might I suggest that you purchase a Glock 29? Caliber: 10 mm -Length: 6.77 inch / 172 mm slide -Height: 4.45 inch / 113 mm -Width: 1.27 inch / 32.5 mm -Barrel Length: 3.78 inch / 96 mm -Barrel Rifling: Right, Hexagonal -Length of Twist: 9.84 inch / 250 mm -Magazine Capacity: 10 -Gun Weight: 24.69 oz / 700 g empty without magazine. -Magazine Weight: 2.40 oz / 68 g empty -Magazine Weight: 8.29 oz / 235 g Full -Trigger Pull: 5.5 lbs / 2.5 kg -Trigger Travel: .5 inch / 12.5 mm
advice - don't get something too high caliber as you don't want the bullet to go through the criminal and subsequently through the wall and hit a neighbor (i.e. I wouldn't get a magnum). If I was in an apt., I'd get a 9mm; .38 or .40 cal would be an absolute max imo.
I have been watching your responses to Steven for a while now. I totally admire you. When you have a chance I would love to talk to you about homeschooling and get some advice regarding that.
i'm not really the homeschool person becuse i don't have kids yet .. BUT i can refer you to some home schoolers that have been and maybe the flat Glenn or Stanly projects

dont get a .22, get a 9mm. it has low kick (but some) and it wont take a full clip to kill someone, because its more powerful.

Unless you use an expanding bullet (which I'm guessing are probably illegal in California), a 9mm won't really stop someone either.
