@waxypotatoes Uh no, the man is genuinely funny, and if he was alive in today's political climate and culture he would probably be considered one of the most dangerous men in the world as he was already considered that in his time. He would be leading the revolution and not just talking about it. He is a great man and not just because he is dead. So, please stop speaking for those of us you know nothing about.
@J101191514 I think he's ok. When he was alive I never bought into the 'dangerous' label that he was given. He was then, and still is now, just ok. That's just my opinion. I do not expect everyone to agree. He wouldn't have wanted that ;-)
@waxypotatoes Yes he brought stand up comedy at a whole new level but he's ok..
He started making people understand that having fun doesn't necesserily mean that you shouldn't think at the same time..ok..Having the balls to say radical things in the conservative(in its majority) american society, standing against the current and being constantly judged about it..its ok..sure..an everyday man right there. No wonder why this planet is such a nice place with so many people like him.Ok.

They pollute Bill Hicks with that masonic american flag ideology and americanism crappola. He was not saying americanism was his ldeal, in fact exactly the opposite. He was saying think for yourself people. What an unadulterated piece of crap, piece of propaganda. Bill Hicks would tell you they are using my name to push their socialist agenda, don't you fu*king see it?
I used to see him at the Comedy Workshop in Houston, along with Sam Kinnison, oh this would be 87, 88 around there. My wife at the time was a cocktail waitress there, and man, the stories she would tell about those guys!

I honestly dont understand how anybody can dislike this video unless you're a fundamentalist christian, pro-lifer or just hate humanity. This right here ladies and gentleman is a man who saw beauty and good and wanted more people to see it.
"Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all the money we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we can explore space together, both inner and outer, forever... in peace." -- Bill Hicks
Remember. All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration... ;-)
I'd like to point out that the "You're Right! YOU'RE right!! Not those FUCKERS WHO WANT TO TELL YOU HOW TO LIVE!!! YOU'RE FUCKING RIGHT!!!" was Bill talking about how the movie 'Basic Instinct' was a piece of shit. :D

I wonder if I could get some advice from people who've seen this.
A local cinema is going to screen this, but I was thinking I'd rather spend my money on a DVD/Bluray.
I can't afford to do both, so I wonder if someone who's seen the film could tell me if it's got enough visual and audio flair that it's a must for the big screen?
Or, despite it undoubtedly being amazing: is it going to be just as amazing a film if watched on my TV at home?
@cinesimonj Buy the DVD, it's 2 discs. You get added replay value and there's 5 hours worth of bonus stuff; plus the most important one..you can show it to everyone you know!
I REALLY REALLY ADORE THE GREAT BILL HICKS HE WAS FUNNY AND INSPIRING THANK U life is only a dream and we are the imagination of our selves AMAZING I LOVE U BILL AND ILL SEE U WHEN I GET THERE PEACEANXXXXXX
The reworking of the facade of the dry cleaners to say Comedy Workshop... hilarious. The workshop was NEVER architecturally aesthetic enough to have anything like a facade. It was never that kind of club. It never had a McCondo behind it, either. And Mike Vance has all of the footage of the workshop guys being interviewed. I'm just as interested in seeing that as this, if not more. Comedy Workshop was the launching pad in the late seventies, early eighties. Miss it, too bad.
Im sure every1s gonna hate this comment, but I feel completely gypped being forced to see Doug Stanhope attempt to be the new Bill Hicks when in reality he doesnt have half the vision or ability that Hicks did. Not that doug sucks, but Hicks blows him outta the water!!
I was hoping the movie would be three hours of bill footage, sans the outsider speculation angle ... I mean it's not like he held anything back, it's not like he left room for interpretation. He spoke for himself quite well.
he wasn't really a comic, he didnt really make "jokes" per say, he made points and pointed out facts, which people thought were funny, he merely expressed his views in a passionate way that people thought were funny, i dont really laugh when i hear bill, i mostly agree with what he's saying, and sometimes i'll laugh at the way he points it out, so when people say he's a comedian in a different class thats the reason why, now go and watch.....
billy connolly, look for a video called religion from his show called "was it something i said?" in fact heres the link, add it to the youtube link then come back to this video if you enjoyed it and tell me what you thought, heres the link watch?v=SMx8QvhULIs&feature=search now thayt is comedy, and i think you can tell the difference, let me know, am sure you will enjoy, and for those who arent intelligent to realize, am not disrespecting bill, just pointing out something which is obvious!
@SteevK69 check out billy connolly on religion here on youtube youtube, i promise you it wont dissapoint... and he is alive thank god!!! a living legend!!
@dntpay4sftware i think im getting a bit off track to my original argument.
The fact that you like chris brown and you dont care about the record label and THEIR hidden agenda contradicts the fact that youre against youtube, the producers of this movie and their hidden agenda, ok? the fact that chris brown is fed to us in such a way doesnt effect you liking the music.
@MrToby1994 Well guess what, youtube is a hearless corporation at its core, but that doesnt change the fact that it provides brilliant people (as well as morons) that would otherwise go unnoticed a chance at an international audience, as well as every song ever made and brilliant people like bill hicks a chance to be exposed to a new...dare i say...generation: as in an age group born in a certain period of time, who didnt get the chance to see bill hicks when he was alive.
@dntpay4sftware chris browns talent is subjective of course, and thats irrevalent because im against the way his "music" is exposed, there are a million bands that deserve to be that popular but they arent fed to the world in such a way. And as i think ive already said the fact that the producers are trying to get money out of the movie is irrelevent aswell, we can still take advantage of this fact. what you think bill hicks did his shows for free?
@dntpay4sftware it must suck having such a bleak outlook on life. the least you could do is focus youre negative thought on real problems, religion perhaps?
and stop listening to chris brown! wtf? can you be a bigger hipocrit how about you listen to non manufactured glamorised BS thats popular purely because of the record label that its signed to. ewww
@dntpay4sftware huh? i havent seen the movie and im not speaking for anyome but myself. Theres a difference between being a cynic and being irrationally critical of everything. Im fairly sure bill hicks was a rational person and he would of seen the benefits and practicality of a site like youtube, instead of needlessly critisizing every single little thing about it....despite any of the negativity he thinks it has
@dntpay4sftware no youtube isnt on our side, its a corporation that wants to make money. but that doesnt change the fact that we can take advantage of that fact that it wants us as customers.....wtf youre completely irrational
@dntpay4sftware "what is money but the invention of a deluded society". is what i assume your reply will be, or something filled with useless jargon that isnt helping anyone
@dntpay4sftware youre a negative douchebag...plus the mere fact that your on the internet contradicts everything youre saying. for your sake i hope your a troll, if not you need to stop being so negative, theyve given people who otherwise wouldnt of heard of bill hicks a chance to know him. You realise that its not possible to produce a movie without money dont you?
@dntpay4sftware umm, its so youtube doesnt get spammed....its not a mindfuck its a security system so we dont get to read too many annoying advertisements
Bill will not have been happy ... Russell crow is apparently playing him ...thats harsh...and its called american he would of hated that I know he is american ,yet he has said before his not a fan of that label.. 'Oh shit, bills back, and his pissed off' .. The man was a genius We need him back to stand up for us people who just dont fit in...
@dntpay4sftware whatever dude, don't torture yourself. They created something for the world, didn't get paid for it, and a whole load of new people are gonna find out about Bill. You have some dark energy there dude
Its true what he said; that he will be waiting at the evolution Bell curve for the rest of us to catch up. I think i finally found him there; where truth and laughter abide. He is there to greet you with a smile if you are brave enough to seek truth at all cost.
"People ask me 'are you proud to be an American?' and I say 'I don't know, I didn't have a lot to do with it. My parents fucked there, that's about all.' I hate patriotism. I can't stand it. It's a round world last time I checked."
thank you for pointing that out. as a native american, no i'm not proud. i'm ashamed that most of my fellow natives have bought into the welfare system. they should get pissed off and stand up for themselves.
patriotism is just one more brainwashing tactic by the gov't and political groups to hasten their agendas.
Stop the bickering stop your gluttonous desires and stop your carnal insticts and evolve thats what bill wanted stop thinking soully for your-self and care bout the world and everything in it!! " I be waiting at the evolutionary belt curve waiting for people to catch up I l be waiting a while" the late great Mr bill hicks
yo, they even have him playing in Australia... wtf!!!! Why isn't the US playing him? Is this some type of weird conspiracy or is it just me? Yeah it's just me... but damn... this will wake up alot more people.

I honestly dont understand how anybody can dislike this video unless you're a fundamentalist christian, pro-lifer or just hate humanity. This right here ladies and gentleman is a man who saw beauty and good and wanted more people to see it.

@TRdonkeyshot We despise all reverences and all the objects of reverence which are outside the pale of our own list of sacred things. And yet, with strange inconsistency, we are shocked when other people despise and defile the things which are holy to us.

Or, despite it undoubtedly being amazing: is it going to be just as amazing a film if watched on my TV at home?
cinesimonj 1 year ago
@cinesimonj Buy the DVD, it's 2 discs. You get added replay value and there's 5 hours worth of bonus stuff; plus the most important one..you can show it to everyone you know!

He spoke for himself quite well.
onlywhenprovoked 1 year ago
he wasn't really a comic, he didnt really make "jokes" per say, he made points and pointed out facts, which people thought were funny, he merely expressed his views in a passionate way that people thought were funny, i dont really laugh when i hear bill, i mostly agree with what he's saying, and sometimes i'll laugh at the way he points it out, so when people say he's a comedian in a different class thats the reason why, now go and watch.....
ScottieWallace 1 year ago 76
billy connolly, look for a video called religion from his show called "was it something i said?" in fact heres the link, add it to the youtube link then come back to this video if you enjoyed it and tell me what you thought, heres the link watch?v=SMx8QvhULIs&feature=search now thayt is comedy, and i think you can tell the difference, let me know, am sure you will enjoy, and for those who arent intelligent to realize, am not disrespecting bill, just pointing out something which is obvious!
ScottieWallace 1 year ago
@ScottieWallace A lot of comics nowadays don't make jokes in the literal sense. Not to be a jerk, but what comedians make jokes anymore?

@dntpay4sftware i think im getting a bit off track to my original argument.
The fact that you like chris brown and you dont care about the record label and THEIR hidden agenda contradicts the fact that youre against youtube, the producers of this movie and their hidden agenda, ok? the fact that chris brown is fed to us in such a way doesnt effect you liking the music.
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@MrToby1994 Well guess what, youtube is a hearless corporation at its core, but that doesnt change the fact that it provides brilliant people (as well as morons) that would otherwise go unnoticed a chance at an international audience, as well as every song ever made and brilliant people like bill hicks a chance to be exposed to a new...dare i say...generation: as in an age group born in a certain period of time, who didnt get the chance to see bill hicks when he was alive.
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware chris browns talent is subjective of course, and thats irrevalent because im against the way his "music" is exposed, there are a million bands that deserve to be that popular but they arent fed to the world in such a way. And as i think ive already said the fact that the producers are trying to get money out of the movie is irrelevent aswell, we can still take advantage of this fact. what you think bill hicks did his shows for free?
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware it must suck having such a bleak outlook on life. the least you could do is focus youre negative thought on real problems, religion perhaps?
and stop listening to chris brown! wtf? can you be a bigger hipocrit how about you listen to non manufactured glamorised BS thats popular purely because of the record label that its signed to. ewww
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware huh? i havent seen the movie and im not speaking for anyome but myself. Theres a difference between being a cynic and being irrationally critical of everything. Im fairly sure bill hicks was a rational person and he would of seen the benefits and practicality of a site like youtube, instead of needlessly critisizing every single little thing about it....despite any of the negativity he thinks it has
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware no youtube isnt on our side, its a corporation that wants to make money. but that doesnt change the fact that we can take advantage of that fact that it wants us as customers.....wtf youre completely irrational
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware "what is money but the invention of a deluded society". is what i assume your reply will be, or something filled with useless jargon that isnt helping anyone
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware youre a negative douchebag...plus the mere fact that your on the internet contradicts everything youre saying. for your sake i hope your a troll, if not you need to stop being so negative, theyve given people who otherwise wouldnt of heard of bill hicks a chance to know him. You realise that its not possible to produce a movie without money dont you?
MrToby1994 1 year ago
@dntpay4sftware umm, its so youtube doesnt get spammed....its not a mindfuck its a security system so we dont get to read too many annoying advertisements

thank you for pointing that out. as a native american, no i'm not proud. i'm ashamed that most of my fellow natives have bought into the welfare system. they should get pissed off and stand up for themselves.
patriotism is just one more brainwashing tactic by the gov't and political groups to hasten their agendas.
