In fact, I thought that "adding skin" around the mouth, in order to preserve troubles mainly with the background of the mouth, was not necessary, but I found out that it is really needed when you use the "interpolate sub-layers" option. Thanks again!
but an actual question is, can you explain in detail EXACTLY how you create that skin layer please? like all i got that works is creating the lines around the lips and then clicking Delete Shape. Thats all that works. I dont understand the rest... i would really appreciate maybe in a little YouTube Mail or something exactly how its done. I would be very thankful
ugh i cant do this! i have anime studio pro 8 and idk i just cant get the part at 4:07 where you start to do the whole Skin layer over the lips.... im a failure...
Thank you so very much. I'm new to Anime studio and I was so lost at first, but thanks to you I now know how to animate a pair of giant lips (haha) now all that's needed is to learn how to do eyes and the rest of the character :/ Thank you!
Great tutorial! I was wondering if you might do a tutorial or share some thoughts on your post-production editing and such. You'd mentioned that you render the Anime file without sound, and then work in other tools. Could you share some more details? Or a tutorial? Or even just let us see how you work in post. Thanks!
HI, thanks for the tutorial. Im getting problems with the 4:07 part. I don't know why I can't do it.... I hold shift, and then I try to select the lips....then I try to click the outline (the part where the teeth are, the "same way as you show in your video" but I cant get part 4:19. When you deselect the points of her mouth-4:16 what do you do to restablish the red selection? I hope you can help me (and sorry if my comment isn't clear enough)
Sorry but I don't understand how youput the two shapes in the switch layer. I put em in just like you but when i right click nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
I have a question,i got vegas pro 9 and i made two clips but i dont know how to line the picture with the words since its going so fast can u help me somehow?:(if not ill try this way
@CartoonZack Doubt that using actions for lip syncing is gonna be more effective than switch layers. Same sounds are often of variable lengths during syncing, while actions are a set number of frames. Secondly, I don't think I can make smooth transitions from sound to sound using actions.
But you are welcome to prove me wrong and I'll gladly learn from you.
I somehow manged to delete your comment, sorry Spida. Here it is:
"This is a very great way of lip syncing, smooth and not too complex, I was thinking that the entire mouth for each letter can be placed on a single layer within the switch layer so you would have a single "A" layer with teeth, lips and tongue all together instead of being separate, is that possible? but further more this is a great tutorial Mr. Maxim, very helpful.. keep up the work.
@Spidamation Thank you Mr.Spida, I'm glad that this info was helpful, maybe we'll see some results maybe even upgraded ones in your upcoming animations.
As for your question: well actually I've started playing around with one layer for all the components, teeth tongue and everything. BUT in order to make the smooth transitions (interpolating layers) - they need to have the same number of edges.
(continued) So what that means is, for example: When you go from an A shaped mouth to a closed smile - where do you put teeth and tongue? Sure you can squeeze them down or make their shapes transparent or something in that nature, but as you can see it creates more work and tweaking. But again it might work for and you can find a way to get around it. If you do let me now. :)
just picked up this program its a lot different from flash finding my around atm, thanks for the upload its helpped.

@LaraGabriela you gotta make sure you shift-click on the anchor points, not just the outline (using the 'create shape tool' as mentioned).
Hope it works out.

so your masking out around the lips area?
YUPchannel 11 months ago
@YUPchannel More of a 'patching out', because there is a masking feature in AS but I
didn't use it here.

waht does the interpolate sub layers option do?
jessicaworks951 1 year ago
@jessicaworks951 automatically animates the smooth transitions between the mouth shapes. Check out my animation clip to see what I mean.
M4KS1M 1 year ago
you should use actions for that mouth
CartoonZack 1 year ago
@CartoonZack Could you elaborate? Actions for lip syncing?
M4KS1M 1 year ago
Yep. Just make one mouth and move in in the different positions (AI, E, etc) for each action for the layer.

Look at my "asdfcomp" videos and "FluffeeTalks Intro" I used actions for the mouths.
