  • SO pointless, who can be bothered getting batteries for a guitar lead?!? No-one's going to notice the difference and also, I'll bet people like Hendrix, Page, Clapton, EVH and Brian May never bothered with any of this nonsense and they got some of the best guitar sounds ever.

  • UGH clean sounds like shit

  • Power wire with distortion? Check out the TS09 Power Wire

  • I proposed a battery powered pick, with one side fatter than the other to match this cable.

  • Yah - your right. I mean, why would anybody be crazy enough to use those things called "active pickups" - like put an amplifier right next to your pickup so skip all the crap that your cable adds to the signal? Yah - Gilmour must not know he is doing using those EMGs, right?!! Yah- I would much rather run a raw guitar coil signal over a long length of cable to a preamp so my preamp can amplify the noise from the cable. Hey guys - please do us all a favor and stay out of engineering school, OK?

  • Just use a preamp.

  • The generic kind of sounded better...

Plus, if you're going to invest in the cable for your guitar, you're likely a profesional guitar player, and if that is the case, then why the hell would you want to use transistor amplification?

    Tubes please, thanks.

  • I wonder how it sounds on a bass guitar? If it acts like active pickups it might have a bass boost.

  • Bravo-Serria! That sounds a hell of a lot better - it definitely sounds like the dynamic response is better.

  • That sounded almost exactly the same, except the regular wire sounded cleaner

  • HAHA he changed the pickup too

  • sounds like crap to me! i like the generic one better

  • Sounds like having EMGs for whatever guitar hljr playing but without having the mess of installing them because it follows the cable.

  • does it make much of a difference with a distorted tone? never heard of a cable like this before =/

  • gives it more of a live, professional sound. i gotta check it out

  • when you look at your hands does it look like you're an idiot?

  • really cool, i wanna test it out for myself

  • Isn't that driving the input of the amp a bit hotter besides the sound quality??, as if we were using a hotter output pickup? thus also changing a bit the tonal characteristics of the setup?? sould we use less gain in the amp compensating this???

  • That was a much bigger chance than I'd expected in sound quality. Definitly getting that one.

  • It's just a gain booster. It really isn't worth it.

  • it's probably cheaper than buying a booster, but boosters are probably better

  • yeah you would want a pedal i mean how would you switch back and forth between them when your playing, just get a tube screamer

  • tube screamers are the best, but whats wrong with amp gain instead of this cable, kinda useless

  • Every cable has capacitance - the longer the cable the more capacitance. High cable capacitance in combination with high output impedance creates a higher phase shift - low frequencies travel slower through the cable than high frequencies, garbling the sound at high and low ends. Guitar coils have high output impedance so they contribute to the phase problem. A preamp right after the coils (whether as EMG pickups or on the cable input) reduces phase distortion, making highs and lows sound better

  • Shit, that actually sounds really good. I'm going to have to get the 6 dB fixed gain one.

  • you can hear more of the dynamics in the playing, i definitely have to pick that up some time

  • is it true that small cables dont make to much sound?

  • Nope it is the other way around, they loose fidelity the longer tha cable.

  • sounds alot fuller

  • Anybody ever try running a 40 foot cable during gigs? Maybe this preamp on the front end makes it sound better over a 40 foot length? The video says gain options of 0, 3 and 6 dB so it sounds like a gain boost of 2x maximum.

  • haha i have an ebow, not that i use it everyday, but i've used it in the studio...

this cable might be good if you had a bunch of pedals in front of your amp...

  • its probably more expensive than its worth....a bit like that stupid ebow thing...remember those???.....can you still buy those???

  • just like added some gain

  • I prefer the normal sound, without that wire.

  • It seems to me like its a small preamp, almost like having EMG pickups, so I wonder how it would actually sound with EMG's? hmmm.

  • THATS WHAT SHE SAID AT 0:49

  • He........

  • i want ur guitar

  • So it ruins your clean sound....

    COOL!

  • Yeah lets ruin are clean sound! Im with you! lets make a band with a ruined clean sound! just you and me ruining clean sounds on every guitar known to man lets do it! YEAH!

  • ehh

  • pointless unless you gig a lot

but then again if you gig a lot, why not just get a wireless unit

  • Love that SOCAL he is playing! CHARVELS ROCK!

  • not bad, slight difference in sound

  • i would so love this it makes it seem better but im not really gonna get one tbh

  • yeah they probably cos 20 quid more than your standard cable

  • i know it gives it a bit of a better sound and like a bit of a second fast but what are you achieving???

thsi is more like an item if u got the money buy it kinda thing ygm?

  • That's cool.
