I think all the branding on longboarding videos is lame. I think most people are just pissed cause they spent so much money on a name brand board and still cant do shit. I bought a board on Ebay for $40 complete, I have slowly been replacing and upgrading. This is the way to do it. You only need to upgrade your equipment when it starts limiting you. and replace it when it breaks. Frankinboard all the way!!! "Paradise" pintail board, "Crown" trucks "sector 9" wheels, "Red" bearings.

wheel softness is a matter of style, sometimes grippy IS better in da pool, i prefer 90a though, and big (for skateboarding not longboarding) wheels like 60mm, anything smaller slows me down, and anything harder makes me slide out

86A is still quite soft if your just going to be skating pools it would probally be better to get a shorter old school style board with 90+ wheels.

Probally be better to have a board for pools and one for cruising and bombing because having really hard wheels on your longboard and bombing isnt a good idea

It's all personal preference. I have longboarded for about 6 years and I think Abec11 are the best wheels I have tried for carving and racing. I will be getting some sector 9 gear shortly and I am looking forward to it.
