I couldn't imagine having my house flooded and losing all my stuff like that and maybe even a family member. I just see this country as a weather safe place to live. Obviously not.
In my village we found that most of the water SHOULD have escaped the built up area through a dyke between two rows of houses. This had not been cleared since 1983. We even found one clown had put some gas pipe in as a culvert and filled in the dyke to gain space. Two years down the line we are still waiting for the dyke to be cleared out and hoping there isn't another rainstorm like 2007
Architects, Builders, Code Officials and Homeowners are all turning to SMART VENT automatic foundation flood vents to protect homes from the destruction that a hurricane, flood or other natural disaster can cause. SMART VENT is designed to provide both flood protection & air ventilation, and is the only ICC-certified vent to meet the requirements as set forth by FEMA and the NFIP for all homes or buildings located in a floodplain.
Educate yourself, be safe, and save on flood insurance.
I knew Mike a little bit, he used to sell me my marine fish and stuff. He was a really nice guy whenever he served me, sometimes threw in a free hermit crab if I bought a lot of stuff from kingston koi company. :( RIP
north people stand pround , this racist goverment only care about southern countys in england not the northern onces, why do u think we got no help and the southern bastards did !
Fuck Hull its a shithole anyway . . . Constantly voted as the one of the worst places in the UK to live in for a very good reason. . . It's a full of slags and cunts who rape the benefits system for every penny it can get. . . The whole place should have been swept into the Humber.
@wizard4513 If you think the government CARE about us southeners, then get down here and take a look at our horrible counties and cities! You should be thankful that they haven't turned your counties into the shitpiles that they've turned ours into!
My sisters school flooded last summer because it is right next to a river. Anyway they repaired the rooms but didnt build a wall or anything next to the river and a few days ago she was sent home early because they thought it was going to flood.
People just dont no how much this costs to clear and fix the damage that has been done in Hull. Mike Barnett, aged only 28, died just by trying to clear a drain near his home
Brave man! and like amandaslim: said, people just laughed when making the videos!
its nice to see someone posting who actually cares.many who posted vids just laughed it away, i dont think people thought at the time how bad it actually is to clear up afterwards.
my heart goes ot to the brave man who died in the drain trying to save his town from disaster.

This is why I would NEVER live in a house unless I knew it was out of the flood zone. It's terrible what these people went through.

tasteful way of showing reality. No drama, outside the obvious. Good.
