This isn't remixed. Merritt released this song in his synth-pop phase around 1998 as a single. He re-released it on the i album, which was part of the 'no-synths' trilogy, so it didn't have any synths. I prefer this hyper version as well though.

First of all, you're ahead of the game already because you know of and like Magnetic Fields. But the video could've used more cuts (less static scenes). Also, converting it to black and white would instantly make it cooler, since your video's color looks so sickly.
