  • No surprise that there's paranoid conspiracy theorist schizos commenting all over this video. That's just something you can bet the house on.

  • ЏОЛИ АНЂЕЛИНА КУРВА ФИНА

  • whats the name of the song that starts at 1:51 plzzz

  • Where are the sheep ?

  • is this good?

  • @xraidedlok

Yeah, it's just very long film (about 3 hours) and it's nothing like the Bourne Supremacy, if that's what you're expecting.

  • I used to be a Good Shepherd, the I took an arrow to the knee...

  • THE Washington movie.

  • the little boy is tommy nelson... one of my brothers good friends

  • the whole challenge of a good spy movie is how to balance mystery/plot complexity and action/movement. The key is casting, you need well known actors that the public recognizes easily, and ambiance , you can't go into full fledged lenghty explanation. Unfortunetaly the main character is purposedly bland, damon has no charisma, there is no chemistry with jolie so 0 emotions and there is no ambiance.British will stick it to Americans when they'll show how you do it with tinker, tailor, soldier, spy

  • I loved it.....5 years ago. Now..still not sure.

  • praetorians soundtrack :D:D

  • Both of my grandfathers were in the navy at the same time in the 1940s just like The Good Shepard

  • Some of this was true and some was bullshit. Some of the killings didn't happen. Angelina Jolie crying and bitching, they could have left that out. I couldn't hear anything. Music was to loud and everyone was whispering. I had to watch the movie 6 times to understand what was going on. The Yale Skull and Bones part was gay as hell. Nude male mud wrestling. The plot was about the Bay of Pigs fiasco and a couple of KGB defectors. One was Lee Harvey Oswald's case worker in Russia.

  • oh ya matt damon is a baby daddy in this movie too lol

  • no emotion in this movie so this was the perfect matt damon movie mark wahlberg woud of been good in it too because hes another emotionless actor. oh ya and everyone in this movie whispered lol lmao whispering secret men lol

  • this movie talk about the Masonic movment

  • Fell asleep, booooring.

  • @Idefixen21 reeaaaaliityy

  • This movie was so so so long and boring. Don't bother watching it.

  • Is this the true story or based on the truth of how the CIA was formed?

  • @stitchesful yes. and very much the look of old Washington.

  • fuck this it takes 3h to watch this and its boooring

  • Al-CIAda!

  • @FeelGood30 People are scared to like this because their afraid "they" might be watching :/

  • Im 14, and i loved this movie. Dont Go into detail so much people. The Movie Was Great...End Of Story.

  • Matt Damon is made to act in movies like this

  • this movie was bull shit

  • This movie was...............well, pretty good, but it REALLY dragged a lot of the time. And did it REALLY need to be 3 hours long? Excellent performances, overall, though...........especially Damon's. My grade would be a B -.

  • For some reason I always find myself drawn to this movie when I'm feeling down. Perhaps it's the cold efficient nature of Damon's character, or perhaps it's because of the quality of the movie. I'm not sure I'll ever know, but I love it all the same.

  • @js8552 the same with me.It helps me to concentrate my thoughts.

  • everything is connected... the dots are there, analyze, act, do not react. THE END! a/4.24

  • nothing happens in the movie, booring

  • Am I the only one who thinks that this movie lacks something. I mean, the historical events described in the movie are very interesting, the actors and the acting is great, but the movie itself.. Just the number of fragments of Wilson's life put together in a strange way and not too interesting. Personally I hoped to see more about the work of intelligence, intrerrogation, investigation, more interesting depiction of historical events. But obviously I expected too much.

  • @Sharukkin you just expected a different genre of movie. Its like when people watch "The Thin Red Line" expecting to see "Saving Private Ryan".

  • @corporateCoffee Yeah. Obviously I expected to see kind of movie like Bourne supremacy etc.

  • They picked a great cast for this movie. Thumbs up if you had goosebumps from 0secs - 2.26secs

  • @BeautifulRose16 I agree.Deniro directed the movie so he would only cast the best, whether they're big names or not.(guys like Billy Crudup & Lee Pace are great, but many pople don't know who they are) Plus what actor is gonna turn down a chance to work with a legend like Deniro. As 4 the movie, it took some patience to get through bcoz it was slow moving with a lot of different stories but it all ultimately came together in the end, sort of like Syriana(coincidentally, another Matt Damon movie)

  • @vidlvr99 :)

  • i just wish robert deniros role was bigger in this movie he's only in 3 scenes & i wish joe pesci had a bigger role too. he's only in it for like 2 or 3 mins.

  • Matt Damon is a gorgeous man

  • looks good, lets try it out :)

  • in my opinion this cud beat any harry potter movie

  • @nigouer I gave your comment a thumbs down, not because I disagree with you, but because of the sheer ignorance radiating off of you. You hold the Potter movies in such high esteem that you find it worthy of comparison to the Good Shepherd? I mean I love the books and the movies are enjoyable, but what a joke. Make sure your balls drop before you consider critiquing movies.

  • This movie is so long and boring. I could barely sit through it. And the guy they have play their son was so ugly. If he's supposed to be the offspring of Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie they should've gotten somebody a whole lot hotter.

  • i laughed my ass off when they tossed that bitch out the air plane

  • @sourcemaster Oh gosh and I thought I was EVIL LOL! I am not the only one XD

  • Quit now while you still believe ... while you still have a soul.

  • Just a father in law who likes teaching sky diving

  • the music at the start sounds so familiar

  • The was a solid movie, but Angelina Jolie was miscast in this role. They needed more of the "nice girl" and no matter what you may or may not like about Jolie, "nice girl" does not in any way describe her.

  • @sunnchilde very true

  • @sunnchilde no I suggested her, the washington ladies at that time were beautiful, the men were important and quiet the women were wow.....that's how it was and the fashion. The Washington film.

  • i liked the end of this movie its very FAIR

  • whats wrong with batman?

  • i have to say that lee pace is just a sexy man. and also matt damons son. also matt damon was really good. but might i say he was a soul less bitch. he played the role well. this movie scared me the cia is freaky

  • does anyone know the name of the score that plays almost everytime alec baldwin talks to matt damon in the bus?

  • "Behold!in the creation of the heavens and the earth;in the alternation of the night and the day;in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit ofmankind;in the rain which Allah sends downfrom the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead;in the beasts of all kinds thatHe scatters through the earth;in the change of the winds, and theclouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;(Here) indeed are Signs for the people of intellect"

  • The CIA, or FBI, or Any of peoples... Who can mess with Allah?

Who can mess with the creator of the heavens and earth?

If he were to punish us, who can stop him?

And if he were to show us mercy, who can stop him?

  • @FreeSoul790 I can mess with Allah. I'm real.

  • @FreeSoul790

I'm not American nor Lybian, but I would rather be ruled by the CIA, FBI or even by Ghaddafi than by God. All of them are more merciful than God. With God you never know where you stand. Today He blesses you, tomorrow He kills you and all we can do is wonder why. Of course we can't stop him, but when is He going to treat us like children instead of slaves? Why would we HAVE to submit when we love our freedom?

  • @RienVesseur

There was once a time, when you weren't even a thought!

You are alive today, but you will not be alive 100 years from now. You will be dead.

There is no choosing who is your creator, as you did not even choose to create yourself.

Did you even create one finger in your body, to claim Anyone, let alone yourself, as the creator?

Allah is most merciful. You have eyes to see this post, fingers to type this message, a mind to think, and a body to use.

Little thanks you give to him.

  • @FreeSoul790 Well, thanks for your concern, but I once was a believer and thanked God every day. Then I found freedom, Looking back I would say that I was the imprisoned soul then and I am the free soul now. Which isn't to say I don't thank the Creator, because the world is a wonderful place. But submission? Why would God even want that?

  • @RienVesseur

EVERYTHING, is submitting to Gods will, hence EVERYTHING is Gods Slave. The planets orbit and rotate about there own axis (as stated in the Quran), by Gods will, as he created them to do so. The trees, grow, with sunlight, and water, as God directed them to do so.

EVERYTHING is in his hands. Our free will, is granted to us by God. You are free, whether society says you are, or you are not.

But its your choice, that will lead you to your destination.

  • @FreeSoul790 I'm not saying the He doesn't exist, but I'm saying that He (or She?) is not interested in your and my submission. You can bow to the earth 5, 10 or 20 times a day, it means nothing to him. I was in a cult myself, so I have heard the perverted explanation of what "freedom" is. In strict religious systems, they say freedom, but they mean submission. Freedom means NO submission. It's as simple as that, my friend.

  • @RienVesseur

Look around you, open your eyes, and your mind. You have that freedom.

Think about an African slave a few centuries ago. They had eyes, brains, everything, a person has. They could think, but their society forced them to be physically enslaved and mentally tortured.

If their environment allowed them to educate about the world around them, they would be MORE free. If you educate yourself, you know more, and can be free more, in many different ways.

    Allah's word is his guidance.

  • @FreeSoul790 Yes, now you and I agree, at least in words. It is the voice of reason.

Except that usually when religious people say "educate", they mean "indoctrinate" and when they say "knowledge", they mean "dogma". Take they African slave. Why was he enslaved? Because white man's religion told them that the black man was inferior, a thought that is still prevalent in the Muslim world. Was the white man "uneducated" in his religion? No. It was his religion that gave him the strength to sin.

  • In the Quran, Allah encourages us to study the surrounding world. this is why the "Golden Age" of the Islamic empire for over 700 years flourished in sciences, math, astronomy, education, innovations, art, etc., at a time when Christians were still stuck in the dark ages. They were in the dark ages, Because their pastors and priests changed the words of Jesus (pbuh), and for this this will pay in the day of judgment.

ALL the prophets preached the same. They were ALL created by ONE God.

  • @RienVesseur

"And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain" (38 : 27)

And follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the fuad (heart) of each of these it will be asked (17 : 36).

'And of men and beasts and cattle in like manner diverse hues. It is the Ulama—men of knowledge—among His servants who (reflecting upon the magnitude of the creation and the Divine laws governing it) feel awe and are wonder struck' (35 : 27-28).

  • @RienVesseur

    41 : 53

And We shall show them Our portents on the horizons and within their own selves, until it will be manifest unto them that it is the truth.

    22:54

And that those on whom knowledge has been bestowed may learn that the (Qur'an) is the Truth from thy Lord, and that they may believe therein, and their hearts may be made humbly (open) to it: for verily Allah is the Guide of those who believe to the Straight Way.

  • @RienVesseur

Many Atheists believe in Darwin, read this:

    29:20

Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation: so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.

Read this Surah (its pretty short):

quran explorer DOT com / index /Sura_ 045_ Al_ Jathiya_ CROUCHING DOT aspx

There are SO many scientific proofs of God.. open your eyes my friend. Here are a few major signs of your creator:

speed - light DOT info / angels _speed _of _light DOT htm

  • @FreeSoul790 Don't forget: many believers in God believe in Darwin as well, at least partly. The specific creation of every kind of plant and animal has been thoroughly disproven. Species do develop from other species, there is no doubt about it. Life is very adaptable and everything changes all the time. But why is life so special, so versatile, so diverse? Could it have been creation that made life so? I think that's a possibility. Literal interpretations of Bible and Quran are outdated, tho.

  • @RienVesseur

If you look at out cells, and mirco-organisms, they do in fact allow for the creating of new species. That is not debatable, as there are proven facts to this.

Darwin went as far as to say that man came from Monkeys, but that does not mean the smaller organism don't change in order to habitat newer species.

I have read nothing in the Quran, nor hadeeth that goes against Darwins theory. So it may or may not be true, from a God-believing stand point.

  • @RienVesseur

You shoul check out "Zakir Naik" on youtube. Or "Ahmed Deedat". They have studied many of scriptures, and give very logical debates. Athough, Zakir Naik is different, in that he has actually Memorized MANY of the scriptures (Everything from the Bibles, to Gospels, Hindu Scriptures, Buddhist scriptures, and even scientific scriptures.)

Knowledge is knowledge.. today's Christians understand that, and the Jews have understood that. And Islam has understood that. It just takes study

  • @RienVesseur

If you want scientific proof of Allah's existence:

speed - light dot info /angels_ speed_ of_ light dot htm

He has given us MANY of proofs of his existence. If you choose not to believe, that is on you.

If you choose to turn your head, that is on you. But do not say on the Day of reckoning, that you were blinded.. because you are unblind enough to read this very post.

  • I don't think they water boarded people yet

  • The gretest cia and spy film . A real masterpiece!

  • 1:52 That's a park in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic :D yaaay (my country)

  • wow..watched it on bbc1 last night..best movie ever!..very intelligent.

  • Great movie. Although Shepherd was humourless and dour throughout. It was supposed to be what he became while working in high circles. I don't know if it was due to bad directing or acting

  • it's on tonight on BBC1 .. enjoy :)

  • movie "the company" is better

  • cia is behind from this world and is the father of wars at middle east...

  • @nickz1000gr

    Don't be a faggot.

  • What's the background music that starts at 0:22?

  • @giloulelarmou Its a soundtrack from the movie Jarhead. Its by Thomas Newman, the songs name is "Raining Oil"

    :)

  • @Zork1915 thanks!

  • "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free". Man this is twisted.

  • The mossad >CIA

  • @TheMossad921

    Mossad are pussies.

  • @beowulven you have to be joking? they wrote the book on intelligence ops

  • This is not a good movie it a sad movie Let people know how America is truly evil !

What a bunch of Freemasons and Devils !!

  • @TheCollege100 hmm apparently you dont know anything.....what do you think freedom was just given to us? no we do bad things to bad people....every country does it welcome to the world you dumb fuck.

  • Comment, debate, comment, debate, debate.

These moral tales are all just a distraction.

And yet you've kept falling for it again and again.

If you feel comfortable in what you believe the world to be, then you're wrong.

  • The Bad Shepherd is the sequel

  • As much as I hate the CIA for all the shit they've done, I want in.

  • Here's a very significant clue. Alec Baldwin plays a huge part in this movie. And Alec Baldwin narrated the most riveting of all the videos ever sponsored by People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals -- Meet Your Meat.

  • MIIIAAAAT DAYMEEEEEEN

  • Fantastic movie.DeNiro is genius and in other fields!Angelina is wonderful and Matt Damon the leader!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @macspectrum You took this quote from the movie and its funny how you Americans think that you are greatest and yesterday it was only a colony freed by the French power.America is truly a great nation but alone can't do shit so watch the movie and enjoy and when the movies finishes wake up to reality.

  • @inurt203 Perhaps you're a little envious? Not every American thinks that. You're only showing your ignorance. Wake up to reality? Reality is that the United States could single handedly destabilize your country. I'm not even American =) Cheers.

  • @DefconEast Im not Russian :) you are wrong and yes its true that the Soviet Union collapsed with help from inside soviet union.I dont think that US broke USSR with no help from certain USSR "nationalists".Anyway USSR didn't fall apart youre wrong it felt apart only on CNN and BBC :)) The power still lies there and that country has influence in many country as before.

  • @inurt203 I am not American. Funny how you assumed I am. I am well aware that if it were not for the French, the Americans would still be sending their tax dollars to "her majesty."

  • @macspectrum Im not Russian either and i don't have nothing against US or western countries.United States is superpower i just wanted to say that even the Roman Empire didn't last so this world is changing more powers are rising is going to be different and Us and Russia they are going to be "forced" to mantain a close good relationship for the world to be safe.

  • @inurt203 When John Lennon sings the song Imagine, I wonder if he is referring to the Central Intelligence Agency. The organization founded so at least some group on this planet could see the forest for the trees. Literally.

  • @etbella3 I love that songs and by the way John Lennon is great a it will be but to bad that he died sooner. But going back at what you said i really dont know :)

  • @etbella3 what the fuck are you talking about?

  • Truly an underrated movie.

  • the best quote from the movie that explains US foreign policy;

"Soviet power is a myth. Great show. There are no spare parts. Nothing is working, nothing, it's nothing but painted rust. But you, you need to keep the Russian myth alive to maintain your military industrial complex. Your system depends on Russian being perceived as a mortal threat. It's not a threat. It was never a threat. It will never be a threat. It's a rotted, bloated cow."

  • @macspectrum Todays its the same thing...the communist ploy, the accusations and right wing fear tactics would target all those with weak minds. They would be easily pushed by fear and ignorance into believing the lies of the cold war. Today history repeats with the "war on terror." yesterday it was communism today its terror tomorrow it will be something else. Just wait and watch.

  • @Azamspazam91 see now u r smart.

  • very good movie for those who didnt like it

go watch spiderman or batman forever

  • @mouta2004 LMAO good one! yea this was an awsomeeee movie! well cuz matt was in it lol im kinda young so yea lol

  • @mouta2004 what's wrong with spiderman?

  • @mouta2004 the impact this movie had on me... its beyond my ability to articulate. The impact on me was tremendous..

  • dont they take baths in horse shit and pee on each other?

  • @TheIcantbelievethis They're the Aristocrats.

  • Its a real life story.Such movies have great story rather than made ones.....I really love this one.

  • great movie.

  • fucking one of the best movies ever,..by far

  • I couldn't get through this movie. It was very slow and boring. I've never seen a character like Matt Damons that had such little personality. Would NOT recommend.

  • @TheNaziFollower FUCK U!!!!!!!! .Guys like u are the killers of good movies!!!!.Its a real life story ,so morons like u wont like it. Its a damn good movie.MUST SEE !!!!!!!!!!

  • this film sucks! is tooooo long and boring!

  • @945france loool stick with it its genius is in fine details

  • @945france his whole life sucks! his so called career is tooooo long and boring!...pityful life.good film in that way.

  • Masterpiece! Fantastic game. Matt excelent. I`ve never seen him like that before.

  • I was under the impression that the Russians killed the fiance. Now someone on this board says that it was Matt Damon's character. Which is it?

  • just watched this movie. wow 2 and a half hours and absolutely nothing made sense to me. it was a really confusing movie

  • @greatcanucks that's the same what I have to say about this movie ! kinda boring to..

  • great cast but it seems boring

  • Matt Damon, my all time favorite actor. He rocks!!! Thumbs up for Matt if you enjoyed the movies he stared.

  • THIS MOVIE TELLS YOU WHO CREATED IT THE **C *I*A*. IT WAS CREATED BY THE SKULL AND BONES secret society. till this day the c *i * a* controls most of the world. they are not what the american people thinks they are. They are very powerfull and wealthy. watch the m o vi e. ZEIGEISTMOVIE.

  • @maumau151 that is a point the movie does not seem to make. It makes the point that for better and worse, it (CIA) was born out of the ethos of such people as inhabited those positions in society. While Edward sits atop society (culturally as he does not seem overly wealthy) , his position and upbringing compels him towards the idea of duty and self denial but in his idea of his service to others and to his heritage, he looses himself.

  • @Sbisbee3 Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The enlightened elite can afford to look at the entire planet and do what it takes to save the 3rd rock from the sun. "We keep the wars small". Jay Edgar Hoover never had a family. In the TV show Dexter, his family starts to interfere with his mission in life. If the Marines wanted you to have a family, they would have issued you one. Full Metal Jacket -- "we play fair". The warriors of the planet -- is it fair to put loved ones through that hell?

  • @Sbisbee3 The movie Wall Street teaches that Washington politicians believe "Greed Is Good". Even when the elected start out with the best of intentions-well I have wondered if there is something in the Potomac water or maybe all that rich food gave the Washington politicos mad cow disease.Either way, if you create a watchdog agency that consists of the privileged class in every sense of that phrase-money, education, class and integrity-the CIA would be less likely to succumb to greed is good.

  • @etbella3 Has the CIA ever dropped the ball? Only their hairdressers know for sure.

  • @Sbisbee3 Just the opposite. He finds himself, and his family is secondary to the Main Event of his life.

  • Was I the only one having trouble hearing this movie?

  • @pwife4 : no!! i can hear it...

  • State of Play is better

  • saw this movie when i was 15. loved it. made most sense in the second half.

  • im confused who killed the sons fiance, the russians? o his father

  • @luisywilli his father.

  • @ImNotThere100 thanks

  • @luisywilli gooooood question.!!!!

  • oh my god

  • America needs to bring back the WASP ruling class. The country went downhill once they lose their grip. This movie is full of WASP's lol.

  • chills go up my spine when they show the cast at the end, my jaw literally dropped! my body became numb for a second and i couldnt move, truly epic!

  • really good movie

  • I really like this movie... I really can't help myself to wonder how hard would be the life of being a james bond....

  • This movie has great acting and the scene were the sons fiancé is thrown off the plane left me in total shock and sadness.

  • @teta809 you left such a spoiler for the people who havent watched it :P thank god i watched it though. :P

  • @wereinsaneproduction Im sorry-that part left me in so much shock that the second the movie finished I needed to post my sadness that the scene caused me somewhere:)

  • will watch it

  • It was slammed because it's close to the truth. Even though this film credits the British for the US espionage tactics it actually runs further back into principles described by Tzu's Art of War which was evolved by Japanese Ninjitsu.

  • @stuntz99-I didn't think it was a bad movie, just an inaccurate one. And the whole Yuri Modin interrogation, complete with waterboarding and hallucinogen-fueled lecture on how "Soviet superpower is a myth" perpetrated by CIA and US gov't. to build up the "military-industrial complex" is Hollywood preachy-ness at its absolute worst. Sure...KGB operative would actually say something like that...sure. That said, taken as a fictitious story with some elements of fact, it wasn't a bad movie.

  • Why did everyone slam this movie so much? I thought it was fantastic.

  • I went to the first showing of this movie in Reno, Nevada, it was a let down, showed the truth, but like the waitress said, long and boring, another whitewash. Francis Ford Coppalla is a member of Bohemian Grove, if you search, you will get so many hits your head will be spinning, I think the skull and bones mafioso are not happy with me. Check out Eli Lilly, Bush, Lay, all those loads of morphine so sad, morphine should not be refrigerated, who turned off my reefer unit?

  • jesus christ i get the goosebumps when i see the cast of this movie at the end of the trailer it sends chills down my spine! so riveting and suspensful

  • @Gambino199 Why in the world would you get goose bumps seeing the cast names scroll on the screen?

  • @pwife4 because the cast of this movie is fucking epic thats why!

  • Read the book, "The Legacy of Ashes". It talks all about the CIA.

  • where does 1:41 take place? what part of DC?

  • Fuck you!

  • a lot of this trailer was not in the actual film

  • The involvement of skull and bones in this movie is questionable

  • It is well established that the Skull and Bones were involved in the early days of the CIA: it is no juvenile conspiracy theory.

  • Wrong, "Wild Bill" Donovan, considered the founder of the CIA and head of OSS, went to Columbia University. (DeNiro's character is based on him.) James Jesus Angleton (Matt Damon's character, loosely based on him) went to Yale, was not a Bonesman. Richard Bissell, also a founder of CIA, went to Yale and was not a Bonesman.(Was responsible for botched Bay of Pigs operation.) So the Bonesman connection is essentially BS.

  • Good to have someone who knows all the "facts". If you only could present a source..

  • For one, Edward J. Epstein's "Deception", which contains interviews with Bissell and Angleton. Tim Weiner's "Legacy of Ashes" would be another, though highly critical of CIA.. Thirdly, Skull and Bones, while a secret fraternity, is not secret about its members, of which neither Donovan, Bissell, or Angleton were a member of. So no, "Hollywood" got it wrong...again.

  • Well, wrong or not, it's still a film. They don't need to think what the real person is or isn't when they create a fictional character..

  • Not sure what you mean. Whatever the case may be, people have a tendency (as evidenced on this thread) to think that Hollywood is telling the truth, when in fact they're bending things to fit their own pre-conceived, left-leaning world-view. Unfortunately, that makes a movie like this damaging. CIA weren't terribly competent, namely because the KGB had a deeper understanding of espionage. But they weren't a bunch of Skull/Bones Yalies.

  • @JohnACorp782 Please stop harrassing, people are totally tired of people who change the subject, harrass, another tactic of compartmentalized "cult of the cia" ways of disinformation. Please get a productive job, Cult of the Cia is an excellent book.

  • @badattitude77769 You need to learn not to stick your nose into business that ain't yours.
