There is no such thing as a peaceful nuclear program. It is technology that no matter how used, will create problems. Israel knows this and we all have plenty of sun to finally make use of for power. There is no need to build new power plants, ask Japan. The Iranian army has mostly old Soviet era equipment and out dated tactics. If it comes to war the U.S won't make the mistake and try to occupy Iran, just blow the crap out of it and leave. There is no such thing as a peaceful nuclear program. It is technology that no matter how used, will create problems. Israel knows this and we all have plenty of sun to finally make use of for power. There is no need to build new power plants, ask Japan. We would all like to recycle these plants, but Iran's nationalism is as high as it gets and their leaders literally call for destruction, total of entire countries. If you are afraid, I suggest you turn your focus on Iran's politicians.

@jonny7748 As much as you'd like to believe that solar is a viable solution - it isn't, the maths doesn't work. We can't make industrial scale solar generation viable - if it was that simple we wouldn't be giving our money to the middle east for oil.
When you accept that oil and coal are going to be non-viable, and that few renewable options are viable - nuclear becomes the only option left.
This unfortunate truth has been known for over a decade now.
