  • Can someone tell me if this rig will be good?

    Core 2 Duo E7400 2.80 GHz.

    Gigabyte EP43-UD3L

    Sapphire Radeon 3870 512 MB

    250 GB Western Digital HDD

Xion Solaris ATX Case w/ 450watt PSU

    2GB PNY DDR2 PC6400 RAM

  • Nice rig but I would go for a 4770, 4830, or 4850 as they are newer and much faster.

  • Yeah But I am on a budget for about ehhh. 400$. and this is exactly 388$

  • out dated, if you're going for c2d go at least 3.0ghz (though id suggest 2.6ghz c2q or ci7) go with an nvidia video card (any 200 series will work) get a 1tb hdd (they're cheap now bout $80) and if you're going to get a psu that low wattage make sure it's a corsair - also you need at least 4gb ram...and make sure you get a 64-bit OS

my rig is faster than that and it is 3 years old

    2.4ghz c2d (except the CPU :( )

    8gb ram

    320+160GB hdd

    580w psu

8800GTS 512mb (i overclocked it, forget to what)

  • I'm on a budget for just about 400$.. with a monitor my total is about 550$ And I dont want it going over 600$ cuz thats all I have

  • go with AMD then, if u have a tight budget

  • My rig is faster than that Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 OC 4.33GHz Akasa AK 965 (Socket 775) Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3 8GB Corsair Dominator PC2-8500(5-5-5-15) Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan XFX GTX260 Black Edition 896MB DDR3 Seagate 500GB HD + Maxtor 1TB External HD Coolermaster eXtreme Power 650W Pioneer 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit LG 22" 16:10 Widescreen 5MS Logitech G5 Gaming mouse Logitech G11 Gaming keyboard
  • Nice, mine is abit worse than urs... intel core 2 quad Q9400 2.66GHz Asus P5N-D 4GB OCZ SLI ready ram 6 Noctua NF-S12 Fans ASUS nvidia geforce 9800GTX+ 1GB 750GB hdd samsung spin point 550w psu sony 20x DVD±RW Dual Layer Windows 7 RC1 samsung 23" tv G5 mouse and G15 Keyboard oh yeh and the best part.... 1 OCZ Vertex 250GB ssd and OCZ vertex 60GB SSD In raid 0

  • Rick how much will u sell one for im really interested?

  • Looking great, and as others have said, I can't wait to see it complete with the rig and cables all set up and running!

  • I think they are 6-32 cant remember use them for fans.

  • lookin good

  • Looks good Rick! 5/5

They sell U-Channel with adhesive already inside the U-Channel, check out Crazy PC.

Also not sure where you bought the rubber and how much you had to pay for it, but I just bought a 12"w X 24"lg piece from Amazon for $8.00

    Keep up yje good work

    LazyMan

  • Sweet deal got a link to it if they got more? I got it from Lowes its called non adhesive shelf liner. Payed like 5 bucks plus tax for a 12"w x 5 foot roll think it was.

  • Sounds like you god a pretty good deal at Lowes.

But if you want Neoprene Rubber just punch that in the search tab on Amazon's website.

  • wow great job rick :D

  • Looking good Rick. I think that rubber will help to keep all the screws and other stuff from sliding all over when you work on stuff.

I dont know if I would worry too much about cable management on a tech station. If you are going to keep changing out boards you will have to redo the wires a lot.

  • sweet rick its coming along great

    5/5

cant wait to see the finished product

  • Looking good Rick... looking forward to seeing the final build with some components!

  • bbabble

  • looking awsome man your really making me want to make one myself looks fairly easily made

  • won't it waer through the u channel?

  • nice job. Its looking great!

  • whats the purpose of the tech station ?

  • sweet!

  • did you ever install that 64 bit XP ?

  • Not yet thanks for it btw!

  • no problem

  • looking good :3

  • Thanks you guys are a great audience!

  • if you decide to sell these, how will you get the mobo trays?

  • I think for final stations will go with CM HDD cages and CM trays they are cheapest I can find to suit my need.

  • Looks great! Are you going to be getting some wheels on this?

  • Naw just the feet more then likely.

  • Great video!! well done
