Egypt is a beautiful place to go - I've been twice and visited the pyramids and the Museum in Cairo. We also went start-gazing and camel riding in the desert and scuba diving in the sea. It was really strange to see people walking on motorways and a Mcdonalds right near to one of the pyramids! I am going to try to go to Luxor to see the Valley of the Kings and maybe a few other places. I absolutely fell in love with Egypt and definitely suggest people go there on holiday.
The Egyptians cultivated the arts and sciences, and their kings busied themselves in erecting those wonderful monuments in the form of tombs, which still remain to a considerable extent. After the conquests of Alexander the Great, the port of Alexandria became the great commercial metropolis of the world, and Greek merchants settled there in large numbers. The economy of pharaonic Egypt has been called an ancient command economy.
Ever since I was little I wanted to go here. I just sure hope I'd capture the amazement in the whole thing rather than be too overwhelmed to appreciate it. I am sure I would have to sit there and stair to let such a thing sink into my brain.

thanks every one i am Egyptian and i am telling u every city has it's bad stuff and good stuff we have lots of bad things but we have every thing els.........
In 10,500 AD we were in the age of Leo which interestingly is when the sphinx was most likely built. It is also when Orion's belt/Osiris would have alignment from the Queen's chamber at Giza.

i have been to egypt twice when i was 16 and 17 it's a great place to go and so warm we took the canal cruise and payed 200 pounds to visit all the tombs and temples we also went to a island where they kept live baby crocadiles in a stone box. You must visit
Someday I wanna ride a camel while watching the sun go down and the sky is red, blue, purple and you can see the shadows on the other side of the sand hills miles ahead,........some day.
One day I hope to be riding on a camel with plenty of water watching th sun go down in the east on the sand hills, I'vee been thinking about it for some time, I'm just 19 but someday I will make it happen.
Yup, I wanna Ride a camel watching the sunset go down, to you that might not meen much but it sounds so great to me, I should start saving now, sort've a University grad pat on the back, Probibly need atleast 5-7'000 thousand for a trip there........But someday.
The Pyramids are probably 10,500 years old. Egyptians merely stumbled across them. At that point, the body of the Sphinx was buried in sand and earth. They recarved the lions head to honor a Pharaoh. The Egyptians also tried to recreate the pyramids, but failed considerably. See the "bent pyramid" for example. Advanced civilizations existed long before us, and were perhaps wiped out by floods, and famine due to natural disasters. Instead of this being secret, we need to learn from it.
Many fascinating feats of engineering, but the whole of the Egyptian Empire was an obsession with the afterlife, the underworld, and Pharaohs leaving monuments of self-importance.
I really wish I could go. Even dressed up as an ancient Egyptian woman for halloween. Really beautiful ancient culture.
I just wish they could have left the mummies untouched. I understand it was all in the name of science, but it's best to let the dead lie as they are. Or they could have at least put them nicely back in their place when they were done studying them.
I saw a documentary where an Egyptologist or archaeologist or someone of that caliber showed us how the egyptians were able to build, transport, erect their magnificent statues, pyramids and obelisks. They used sleds, animal fat, sand, manpower. They were clearly sensational architects thinkers and engineers. You can see their trial and error perfected in the pyramids. Their texts and heiroglyphs are no less facinating. What accomplishments what facinating people!
I think the most beautiful women of the ancient world were the egyptian women..their dresses..the make up..the hair styles....majestic and sensually beautiful for that time of civilization.
something about egypt always has everyone going crazy. i myself always find myself reading or searching more about old monuments and ancient times, no matter what it's all started from people just like us. and it makes us somehow all connected to one another. I think that's why we're all so driven in to learning more about this.
Yes and live that way of life. I am reading their texts knowing their Gods. I've only just started but I already see the mystery, beauty simplicity love of Egypt. They were obsessed with life not death. They believed in living a good decent life they believed in helped each other. Called on their g/Gods for help Gods who weren't solely intent on punishing. In fact we find the Egyptians knew secrets that we don't know even today.Amun-Ra accept our adulation our appreciation for your great people.
When I saw an egyptian woman as a little girl, I was hooked. I loved her dark skin, cat eye makeup and her gold jewelry. Wanted to look just like her. <3
Every one wishes to visit Egypt coz Egypt is the mother of the world & I heard some Islamic schoolers said Egypt is the heaven of Adam & Eve on the earth !

i would really love to go and take some pictures too.=D
and i wish that when that day comes i hope i can still see the pyramid standing in front of me.=)
i know that i still have a long way to go, for me to go to Egypt cuz' i'm still kido.=D
i've dreamed of traveling to egypt since i was a little kid. why? i dont know. whenever i see something or hear something that reminds me of egypt, it brings me back.
i agree, when i saw the pyramids when i was 8, i was interested, i bought books about it, and i memorized them, but i am still reading over, over, over. i just cant stop reading about them i dont know y?
That is really interesting. Anything is possible. It would have been really cool if I was apart of ancient egypt so long ago.. in my past life... now im wondering why im so interested in it.. very good point!
I'm a 18year old guy from Norway, and I have been to Egypt once, for about 8 years ago, when I was 10. And even though I was just a child back then - I can still remember how extremely fascinated I was, you know - by the pyramides and all the history, of course! This is definitely one of my best childhood memories! I hope I can go back someday, I bet it'll be more fun now that I'm older. Man, I love Egypt!!
This is good for modern Egypt's economy. I just really wish they could restore some of the monuments to their former grandeur but that would take a lot of money!!
I want to go some day. As for the weathering on the Sphinx, I've heard some speculate that there are water channels from rain and that Egypt may have been more like Savannah in ancient times, so it's not that it's older, but the climate weathered it faster in the past.
OhmyGod when i see this video i cannot wait untill November when im going to Egypt , too go too Egypt is my wish!! THE VIDEO IS GREAAAAAAATTTT!!!! IM SEARIUS!!:D
im Egyptiannn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..ancient Egyptians or Coptic people(which are now known as the Coptic orthodox church) have a great history..they were the first people to know that there is only one God..they also made a hole in the ceiling in one of their king's palace to get the sun to shine on the kings face twice a year in his birthday and in the day that he became a king..they also built the pyramids with really no tools!..Egyptians have a great history!
Great video, congratulations, beautiful photos and beautiful places, I know one day, a pity I live so far away I am from Brazil, which by the way did a great video if you want to look at the address that is below,
also see my channel Up More ... /watch?v=42JhgBotuYs
I need to see it before I hit the bucket. I have seen Greece and Europe and I believe Egypt would outshine these two places. I am still looking for a cheaper price for the trip.
On Cleopatra's facial reconstruction Archaeologist Dr Hilke Thuer from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, who led the discovery, says: "It is unique in the life of an archaeologist to find the tomb &the skeleton of a member of Ptolemaic dynasty. The results of the forensic examination and the fact that the facial reconstruction shows that Arsinoe had an African mother is a real sensation which leads to a new insight on Cleopatra's family & the relationship of the sisters Cleopatra & Arsinoe."
There is no history that competes with Egypt's, it's incredible...
The first Egyptian farmers, the Egyptian Pharoahs, the Ptolomics, the reign of christianity (coptics), the reign of Islam, the Ottomans, The Mamluks, the Kings of Egypt, the Arabs, Modern Egypt...
Great video, yes I don't think anybody could call that ancient civilisation 'stupid' considering some of the blocks are the size and weight of freight trains that take the largest heaviest cranes to move in the modern day.
After spending time in Egypt especially after standing at the feet of the Sphinx, my life has never been the same. I am very sensitive to the environment, when I visited the area I had to leave very quickly has I could not cope with the physical experience of standing near this edifice. There is something quite strange about this place, quite unexplainable in our language to tell the story of what I felt there.
Sumer was a great civilization but china and India's influence was more limited. but Egypt is mother of human civilization. It is cradle of human origin
most folks are comming around the west discovery. the skeptism you battle with in rooted more in educational and phycological isseus than any historical understanding. LOL.
And as someone who lives on a river flood plain I can assure one and all that the erosion patterns of flood waters are quite markedly different from those left by rain.
Flood waters flow along the ground sheet creating horizontal scoring; rain water rivulets from above creating, well, river beds.
Make note of the difference between a flood plain and a river gorge.
Depending on locality, 'Mother of all Greco-Hebraic civilisation' would be more accurate. I'm sure some current Islamic Egyptians are all fired up about my reference to Hebrews but then the Pyramids weren't built by Islamists or even Hebrews.
India also gave us zero and several sanskrit words such as brother.
I learn about egypt! and I have to go and see it,cause everything I've been reading from the books about the pyramid, culture, hieroglyphics and the pharaonic tombs just sounds so amazing and it's fun to learn about it(whell to me it is)
Thank you for sharing your travels with us! I have always had a deep burning passion for ancient Egypt and that passion is what made me decide to study Anthropology/Archaeology in college right now. I hope to one day have the chance to visit this wonderful country and many others. For now, your videos help to satisfy the hunger for knowledge and travel. Thanks again!

You know what i liek about egypt ?
Although the pyramids are perfect, and have straight lines... everything else seems nicely and enjoyable ROUNDED.
The art, the houses, everything... lovelly rounded, basic shapes... no need for straight lines and sharp images - just lovelly rounded shapes.

im Egyptiannn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..ancient Egyptians or Coptic people(which are now known as the Coptic orthodox church) have a great history..they were the first people to know that there is only one God..they also made a hole in the ceiling in one of their king's palace to get the sun to shine on the kings face twice a year in his birthday and in the day that he became a king..they also built the pyramids with really no tools!..Egyptians have a great history!

I wanna go so badly, I'd choose going to Egypt over a million dollars.
Brightangel001 2 years ago 4

"Very true, religion science everything came from the nile valley"
you forgot at least Sumer, China and India, not to mention south american cultures..., so no, not everything came from the nile valley
truthspeaker969 3 years ago
Sumer was a great civilization but china and India's influence was more limited. but Egypt is mother of human civilization. It is cradle of human origin

Great video. Apparently the Nile used to swell up to the Pyramids. This could also cause the weathering of the Sphinx.
ocseans 3 years ago
The top of the Sphinx is more weathered than the bottom, so it's impossible
FredL777 3 years ago
A lot of the Sphinx used to be covered in sand (half buried), only the top may have been exposed, I am still skeptical
ocseans 3 years ago
most folks are comming around the west discovery. the skeptism you battle with in rooted more in educational and phycological isseus than any historical understanding. LOL.
alchemistvstiger 3 years ago
actually the Bottom is a lot more weathered

And as someone who lives on a river flood plain I can assure one and all that the erosion patterns of flood waters are quite markedly different from those left by rain.
Flood waters flow along the ground sheet creating horizontal scoring; rain water rivulets from above creating, well, river beds.
Make note of the difference between a flood plain and a river gorge.

"mother of the whole world's civilization"
You got your cotton from India and your silk from China.
IsaacBickerstaffEsq 3 years ago
Depending on locality, 'Mother of all Greco-Hebraic civilisation' would be more accurate. I'm sure some current Islamic Egyptians are all fired up about my reference to Hebrews but then the Pyramids weren't built by Islamists or even Hebrews.
India also gave us zero and several sanskrit words such as brother.
