I think the increase in precession is more so due to the added weight of the cover...
I think I might have missed the purpose of this video, though. :/

that's gyroscopic precession. The electric motor in that thing is basically a gyro but it has a small rotor, the added rotors when attatching the clip might be what's responsible for the increase in precession.

Now try it in a round floating tub. use blue-tac to stick it to the base. it may or may not do the same?
Vibrations are used to lift grains, granules etc. up an incline, against gravity.

The frequency of the vibrations is greater imo. Just from the sound itself u can hear the pitch is different.
