This tutorial is awesome! There are all kinds of tutorials and if people want to watch more slow, detailed and explained tutorials they should look for those as those are good as well... but for getting key techniques for people that already grasp basic modeling concepts this is very very useful. I would only add a final rendered shot so we could have an idea of what it looks like but it's very good indeed! thanks alot! =)
Dude, now THAT'S how to do a tutorial. I can quickly extract key, technical points; I can watch your pop-ups without listening to time-wasting audio commentary/jokes; and I can slow down in VLC on key parts! Masterful. (only higher resolution would make this PERFECT). Thanks. Please do MANY more tutorials on 3ds Max.
cool but too much work if you use small world and an ordance survery map it will extrude all the houses without the hassle. terrain shade add house and land hieght automatically gives shaddows overall looks more realistic instead of computer generated
i need some help, ive been working on my character for a few days now but just now the zoom is really strong (zooms in really far and goes past my object) what can i do someone please help!!!
Nice video man, but you really need to add text to it. In your editing app, you can put text layers on top of the video, so you can have it stay on-screen for as long as you want, instead of for just a few frames.
Also, it would have been nice to see a final render with AO at the end, not just the real-time display and not so sped up. :P
Great tutorial, thanks!

It's a button in Max 2010's Graphite Modeling Tools menu. You can select a percentage og random polys.
