EMGs are good if you know what you're doing. They're pretty advanced pickups, I mean, they're battery powered for one.

Seymour Duncan pickups are the best, in my opinion, for Heavy Metal in general. Personally I enjoy the sound of the Strat humbuckers, whatever the name of those are.

yeah i was wanting a les paul for a while but i tried to do sweeps on my friend's les paul and it didn't work out. then i played my other friend's guitar (dean), and it was easy as hell to do sweeps on and it makes the master of puppets solo sound like a blur. so i'm thinking about getting me a dean razorback v w/ floyd rose, 24 frets, and explosion graphics. or just a jackson.

most of them do have 22 frets, but there is a certain version w/ 24 frets. but right now i'm just happy w/ my guitar. i got an ESP EX-260 and it is awesome! it's pretty easy to solo on but i can't do sweeps on it but it's a shredding guitar. if you can't afford a dean or jackson then you may wanna go w/ the esp. tey are fuckin awesome
