  • Cool drinking game: Every time he says, "Newly matched pairs", drink a shot.

  • Got this far and fucked it up !!!!!!!!!!

  • Does anyone else wish pogobat taught this?

He got me through the 3x3 and the 4x4 without too

    much difficulty

  • @MrJJThePenguin yeah man i too looked a lot for pogobat's 5 by 5 video

  • I love how the view drops as the tutorial gets harder

  • This was helpful

  • *headdesk* He's even confusing himself.

  • Solved it, but the only problem I have is my bottom 4 corners are in the wrong spot. White is my top, yellow my bottom, red my front, and orange my back. So on my front face the bottom corners are orange/blue, and orange/green, and vice versa on the back. Green/red, and red/blue. Is there a way to fix it, or do I have to start over again.

  • But wait there's more. "a faster way to get it off is to take the stickers off then put them on in order. there isn't life better".

  • @JrdSpr99 ur joking right?

  • @79bommer yes

  • bring this down, put it over there, bring it back puting this edge peice over there and the creating a thredge when you bring it up

  • wtf?????????????? you say newly matched pair way to fucking many times. plsss talk to us like we are dumb asses........PLEASE

  • @RobH0629 Hey Rob, when I solve my 5x5 like a three by three I sometimes get the yellow cross parity error, the 4x4 algorithm doesnt work properly as it only flips the middle edge piece, what algorithm do I use and how?

  • Can you show the last step to finish solving the cube?

  • Brilliant guide

  • Please make some algorithms, i really don't get the way you're cubing in this vid.

  • lol

  • this part is hard///

  • Your voice also sounds like Hiccup's in Dreamwork's How to Train Your Dragon! It's fun with you teaching!

  • :( this part is so hard... can't cope up...

  • YOU BETTER BE VERY SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS. Thundercats know all

  • he is an person man

  • Am I the only person that doesn't think he sounds like that damn frog?

  • @xpunkxrocker48 he might have a chip munk voice...

  • Dude your awsome!!!

  • 1:15

    TIP:

later, when thu upper layer has only 1 empty space left; the empty space must be on the back(if turned clockwise) or in the top-front-edge(when the top layer is turned counter-clockwise)

  • when i saw that sims commercial put in front of this fideo i thought: "they should make a rubik's cube item mod with rubik-furniture in it..."

    what do you think?

  • I SOLVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 26 people gave up once they reached this point.

  • U make everything too complicated. Check out a rubies cube how to solve by Pogobat.

  • @ibetweetinonyou Pogobat is actually harder (I couldn't understand his 3x3 tutorial AFTER learning from someone else how to solve it) and he doesn't even have a 5x5 tutoral.

    Very bad advice.

  • @anticorncob6 keywords: couldnt understand after learning else. besides he does have a 5x5x5

  • @ibetweetinonyou where does he have this tutorial?

  • He talks to me like I'm a retard

  • @DrDeevin, I'd rather be talked to like a retard, than a pro and completely miss the point of the tutorial.

  • wow.. i can do the part 2 and part 1 but how to finish part 3?? i can save all of that move in my head!! it's make me sick :&

  • @Dammy2kill

your grammar is good not, translate better of next time please.

  • watch?v=SDug7A4a8Pw

Try this if you are having trouble, I guarantee it will work!

  • i wonder why he has 3 4x4's and 3 5x5's , he must do this all the time haha he has no life

  • @MisterWybea1 good one

  • jah wij gaan bicky's halen !

  • IM SO PUMPED THIS IS JUST LIKE THE4x4x4

  • what if i have 3 unmatched tredges?

  • @RobH0629

hey do you have to start on the whites/ yellow corners?

  • @deathboarder129 no u dont

  • @deathboarder129 no its just the way he does it. You can do it with any coulor.

  • I cant get any unmached pairs help?

  • I swear this guy sleeps with this cube..

  • what about hairy nipples?

  • why can't you bring the tredges down ?

  • your tutorial is so much better than MeMyselfAndPi's, he's just "bring this up, now bring this down, replace the edges with these, blah blah" it drives me crazy.

  • hermit the frog this is too hard T.T wrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrap

  • thanks for helping witht the algorithms. they really help me to solve it faster. Although I do happen to be slightly annoyed by all the obvious technicalities such as matching all the "tredges". I know you want to be thorough but anyone who can solve a 4x4 and a 3x3, its basically common sense.

  • i don't know the method!

  • All my inner and one out are solved but one of them

  • Very impressive method but this method is not the same as my method in 3x3 cube

  • @slkittykat5 it's simular to the 4x4x4 Rubik's Revenge Cube. You bring 2 edge pieces together using THE method, and eventually get the paired piece and a unmatched piece using THE method.

  • this is fucking ridiculous. why can't i solve the last three god damn edges?! it keeps fucking them up and you didnt show how to fix it!

  • @johnishable simple.

solve one edge, and you should have 2 unmatched pairs. then make sure that they are both on the same layers and have the same colours on the same face and perform the algorithm (Dd), R, F', U, R', F, (Dd')

  • @phantokamistika2008 my bad bro. xD i figured it out as soon as i commented this. i can solve a 3x3 like a beast ;D so i was like OH IM A DUMMY. haha

  • @johnishable I have the same problem, it's almost impossible to solve the last 2-3 edges. If I solve one, another one gets fucked up. Extremely annoying. Help anyone?

  • @KeyboardDude94 Actually they just did a study where they discovered our perception of intelligence isn't correct and our IQ isn't defined for life (and actually the more you believe that it is, the less it will improve). The whole thing is pretty cool considering it means we have a chance to control our intelligence to a degree!!

  • 18 seconds into the video and guess what! And ad finally decided it forgot to load... why not stop the video and play that shit again! :D

  • i F****** hate advertisments

  • You can also pair the tredges the same way to pair the dedges in teh 4x4 tutorial..

  • great tutorial helped me alot on the parity errors

  • It's a good 5x5 tutorial, but in this part I got a little confused.

When I do, following other tutorial, i have to bring 3 pieces with the same color together, then bring they up, put a wrong one in the place and do the others..

If i have one central piece in the wrong position I have to use algorithms, and now, I saw your tutorial and it's completly different, but, as I sad, It's a good 5x5 tutorial.

  • duuuuuude you are awesome you are like the best cube expert that i know and maybe that's because you are my only one that i know and thank you sooooo much.

    i don't know how to solve a 4x4x4 but i know how to solve a 3x3x3 and i solved it ..

and again thank you so much!!!!

  • thanks this helped a lot even though I just used the first part because i just did everything else like in a 4x4 thanks anyway

  • THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

  • Ohkay.. You didn't show us the matched pair. I'm so confused. I'm trying to get mine to look similar to yours.. But, It's not working. I have the 2 matching pair. but not the other set. I don't know how to look for them. Please help. Thank you

  • Your mom is a unmatched pair.

  • @Cydinio gooooooooood one

  • this is the best 5x5 rubiks cube tutorial i saw in my life.

  • @husam134 Ur language rocks

  • 0:01

  • 0:00 skip ads

  • do you have to make edge pairs in any specific order?

  • WTF IS WITH SUBTITLES. Lol.

  • i always end up with 3 tredges left that i cant solve, if i try to solve one it messes one up... what do i do???

  • cool, thanks for doing the last part so fucking fast! now i messed everything up!!

  • that last fourth was way too fuckin fast man!

  • Comment removed

  • lol after solving the centre pieces im lost

  • @movieb0yreturns same here

  • I solved my 5x5 without a guide except the parity problem i had to look that up again but ther than that i know how to solve it now :) thanks

  • can someone please give me an algorithum for when you get pieces that are opposite and have the same orientation?

i.e White facing up red on the side opposite white facing up and red on the side.

I know how to do a 3x3 but not a 4x4 so anything that is relating to 4x4 will be useless

  • as i watch, i was thinking how do u know how 2 solve 5x5x5 cube

  • GREAT!!! Also great is the clear way of talking, very coherent - most tutorials are too sloppy or one can't understand a word.

No doubt one of the best. Especially for people who are still not really familiar with the different algorithms. I can see for those who just need a bit of refreshing because they forgot the moves they once knew, this is a bit long but for sure everyone who needs help with it will find it here in this and all of Rob's other videos GREAT!

  • hey i dont think you showed how to match the last 2 edge pairs ?

  • @louisff8000 explained in parity error part

  • nice vid, it helped me alot!

  • great tutorial! a little bit too much repetition though...

  • man, i could swear this is the guy that does the voice of Hermit the Frog

  • @AirsoftSniper11223 I think you mean KERMIT

  • @jamezy1963 kermit the FUCKIN frog!!!

  • @AirsoftSniper11223 You mean Kermit?

  • For AirsoftSniper11223

Anyone here would swear you're the bigest idiot on earth

  • @AirsoftSniper11223 yeah, but i honestly think it's more like kermit the frog...

  • @AirsoftSniper11223 HA he yeah but you do mean kermit :)

  • this tutorial gives a big contribution for me... and as a teacher i have relayed the knowledge that was shared to me by this tutorial.... thanks for posting such a nice tutorial from alvans

  • i like how u say Newly Matched Pair so funny

  • alvans : your all right guys this tutorial gives a lot of knowledge of solving the mystery of rubiks

  • Halfway trough this video I had already solved my 5x5 for the first time :D

  • it doesn't matter where the unsolved pair is, as long as its in the top layer

  • when is the last time this guy had sex?

  • kuraku3 your comment is irrelevant to a certain topics... your so sloth... mahiya ka naman sa sarili mo.

  • @kuraku3 It was when he did your mom. =)

  • Best newbie solution Video ever! Now I was able to solve my 5x5x5x cube completely (exactly one year ago I started with my first tries and I gave up a multiple times).

Thank you so much! Now I finally can start to solve my 4x4x4 cube. Hopefully it's easier than the 5x5x5...

  • @brandonxshirey09 got anger?

  • @brandonxshirey09 WTF is that?!?

  • @brandonxshirey09 WTF is that?!?

  • @southparkisthebest12 : arent you the one who still dont know how to solve it? you the sucking one !!!

  • without this video i solved a 5x5x5 with only knowing how to solve a 3x3x3 and i figured it out im only 12

  • YOU LUCKY BASTARD!!!!! LOL

  • haha, im 12 too and i can solve all the 3 cubes too :D

  • @thomasbomvu yeah right I figured out how to solve a 9x9x9 and I'm two. (NR like yours)

  • @thomasbomvu I don't think your age really matters. You have the same IQ through out your whole life. It doesn't change.

  • yeah but antony492 i tried that but i got confused anyway! and i have mastrd the 3x3 and 4x4 and it is still to fast even when you pause it its still really confusing! :(

  • @penutbutter98 sorry but your dumb then. Iv mastered them too, and i am not, quite able from this video, learning the 5x5

  • Yes!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • if you want free stuff message me!!!

  • @tailwhip101 *cough* lockerz *cough* haha

  • omg i make no sense -.- sry

  • arnt you a geek for watching this video?

  • mate robH0629 i have solved this part but after i combine all pairs its ok but on my blue-yellow middle edge ,the left and right blue-yellow is on the right position but its flip.the blue faces the yellow and the yellow faces the blue.what should i do?the others are on the right position except those two.

  • omg i have 8 tredges stored up on the top and bottom. and i have just finished one tredge in the middle but where do i put it? like whenever i try making a new tredge it messes up the tredge i just made. so where can i like store it to prevent it from getting messed up??

  • @ITZNDREW thats the problem i have also...

  • i found how.... ok keep the 8 tredges on the top and bottom face... well i cantr explain this well but. then the middle edges do exactly as the regular like say the top and bottom have 8 tredges and the front face a dedge ( double edge) and then last piece to complete the Tredge is in the right place then u just turn the front face counter or just clockwise and then use the regular thing where u bring it together then store it on the top face but u use the other middle edges...

  • Since u turned the face sideways the middle edges should be on the top... then just solve it regularly -.- omg i am so bad at explaining lol i wish i could just make a vid but im not sure how : P oh yea this is a reply to artistbydefualt

  • If you find the 2 parts of the edge you need to pair up and put them in the front face, rotate the back face 90 degrees. This will bring down 2 matched pairs, which will split when you rotate the centres, but they will realign when you bring the centres back together again after you put the newly matched pair out of the way :)

  • lets say you use yellow as your top and white as your bottom (center 2x2s indicate this), when you make your first tredge store it on the yellow face and do the same for your 2nd, 3rd and fourth tredge. For the next four use your white face to store the next four (eight completed).

  • same problem

  • this guy goes too fast i dont know what i am doing in this step!? what do you do after you pair up the edged and hes lik "now we can go a little faster" i dont think that i can i like him better slow! (\___/)

    ( ='.'= )

    (" )_(" )

  • @penutbutter98 you can pause the video, and replay if you find it so fast

  • where you asking me or him

  • hey i loved how you explained the parity i thought that it was very helpful

  • where did oyu get that exact rubix cube cause i got one that wll randomly fall apart and turns poorly

  • WHen ever i try making a new tredge another tredge that i stored keeps gettting messup : [

  • @ITZNDREW You should look up pogobat. He has video's that show how to solve the 4x4, which has applicable methods that will helps prevent that from happening.

  • ty so much : ]

  • hey rewatch the vidio because you missed the part where you need to make sure that you have a non-matched pair above the one that you want to aline it will help alot.

  • THANK you but am a bit confuse on part 2 so please help

  • what parity error i DIDNT GET A PARITY ERROR

  • You will eventually. Don't worry.

  • hi

    hihihihihihhii

  • to fast. cant solve the last four edges. can u help.

  • Gotta thank you for this tutorial, Rob - you're awesome. What I'm doing is following Rob's advice on what to do (centres first, then edges, then solve parity, etc), then basically screwing around with the cube seeing what does what. I was fortunately able to solve parity in my own way, rather than looking at the tutorial, because just plain messing around teaches you so much about the Cube.

  • hey i know you are so right it does i just want to know how the cube was made.

  • I GOT NO PARITY ERROR HAHA! lol Thanks for the How to Rob

  • lmao

  • @clawjungleranger

    You will, sooner or later.

  • wow this really helped..i just got my 5x5 for christmas nd i tried to solve it by myself cuz i already knew how to do the 4x4 nd the regular cube..nd i figured out how to do the first part of edge paring but i had trouble paring up all 3..i feel like i cheated tho by watchin this..but thanx it really helped

  • i had exactly the same problem.. im just waiting for the vid to load and hopefully i can solve the final edge pairs :D

  • It's not that difficult to solve the 5x5x5 if you know how to solve the 3x3x3 and 4x4x4.

  • this rubik's cube takes more common sense then algorithms, for u rage quitters...

  • to frigging confusing. put in some algorithms or something. one of the worst tutorials i have seen sorry

  • nah mate this better cause your actually learning what your doing and how your doing it

  • worked as well thank you

  • No you're just a rageful idiot who cant solve it

  • what if i have no pairs that are both switched?

  • 1:25 so if it is on the left turn it clockwise?

  • You are a genius, I love your tutorial, it is so easy to understand!

  • thanx!!!!! im keepin up well

  • I have absolutely NO idea wtf you did around 8:57, dude. You spin the cube around WAY too much.

  • thanks ;]

  • Look on eBay or amozone to get a 5x5x5 cube

  • @Pet2geo i got mine at the local mall at a toy store

  • were do u get 5x5x5 rubik cube i had a 3x3x3 rubik cube and i cud solve that but i have lost it so i whant to know were to get a 5x5x5 rubik cube

  • you can get them in the store. if you cannot, try ebay.
