  • i miss the violin in this version though

  • another beautiful song from Cat Stevens.Who cares about his religious beliefs,it's the MUSIC and the message of love that matter.

  • Although "Cat Stevens" claims orothox greek lineage.

He is in fact a partial Sephardic Israelite,"Jewish - Person"

He is undergoing de-proraming in Tel-Aviv.

  • My Lord so beautiful.

  • Lullaby..................

  • ..Thissin's one of my Favorites frum one of my all time Favo--Rite arteests. {don't he jest seem ta git rite on in "There" whar it feel like Home??} =))

  • @ThunderheadNebula ..why do you want people to fight? we are here for music & i believe any divine, almighty God is well capable to fight thy own wars.. why should we fight? Preach love not destruction.. The world wil b a bettr place.

    good song!

  • I was born in 1972. When I was tiny I had a pair of red tights...Dad called me Red Legged Chicken. We listened to Cat Stevens and many more on the 8 track of Dad's car....I'll never stop listening to this music. Just sublime.

  • ah. personifes the 1970's

  • So Sweet!

  • His lyrics are somewhat reminiscent os Bob Dylan's...

Teriffic performer, miss him and the memories of a more innocent, less jaded time.

  • "A sad blue-eyed drummer rehearses outside

A black spider dancing on top of his eye

Red-legged chicken stands ready to strike

    And everything emptying into white"

A great poet, musician, and humanitarian. This is my favorite song of the artist formerly known as Cat Stevens.

  • Oh The 70s how beautiful it was and so was this....

  • rrr

  • One of Cat's best songs in my honest opinion. I've always felt it captures Zen so well.

  • Cool

  • Great song.......Great days

  • Cat Stevens makes death threats I think as far as this writer is concerned, unfortunately, he has been irresponsible with his freedom of speech. Salman Rushdie or indeed any writer who abuses the prophet, or indeed any prophet, under Islamic law, the sentence for that is actually death. It's got to be seen as a deterrent, so that other people should not commit the same mistake again.

so the writer of "Peace Train" sentences another writer to death

Cat Stevens hypocracy of the sickening kind

  • @redshirtish he discussed that in recent many interviews.. u can youtube it!

    i think it's a bbc interview..

  • @elbasha123

he denies death threats to Rushdie on TV later restated at univerisity talk and to a reporter while in the mosque London tried to remove vids here Stevens has never apologised to the family of Rushdie for inflaming the fatwa and calling all moslems to burn and kill or advised muslims not to kill

decent men of God would not hurt Rushdie his wife child and family sharia law demands death for "insults" to islam Stevens a muslim cannot go against this

    God "thou shalt not kill"

  • his music speaks to my soul!

  • Epic xo

  • I fucking love this song! but WTF is he talking about hahaha..I'm normally great at decoding :(

  • @creepske

maybe its about heaven? Into White'

  • @creepske I believe he's exemplifying simplicity and appreciation of pure existence

  • @creepske In 1968 Cat spent many months convalescing in a London Hospital with a collapsed lung & consequent Tuberculosis. During this time, he penned this ballad that alluded to his experiences in the institution. He was surrounded by other tubercular patients, some of whom didn't make it. He was close to death himself but fortunately for the music world he survived. It changed his outlook on life profoundly.

  • What happened to ya, Cat, Islam gotta hold of you and you freaked out.

  • I got this album for my 18th birthday. tea for the Tillerman. Simply lovely and Its been 37 years.

  • Everything emptying into white...such a beautiful image.

  • Wonderful - Fantastic performer - great Man - Always in my Heart :)

  • just thanks Mr.Yusuf

  • I think it is about the virtue of living a life of peace and simplicity.

  • AWESOME AS USUAL, THERE IS NONE LIKE HIM

  • Such a lovely song.....nice to see him playing his Gibson Everly guitar - and accompanied by the great Alun Davies.

  • A great song from one of my all-time favorite albums

  • Another incredible song off of Tea for the tillerman. This performance was shortly before he went to the Middle East and became a Muslim. He's been back for a while and has an album. I really have to check it out as I'm dying to hear what he sounds like now. In this era he was nothing short of Brilliant. When he started out fans were almost as crazed about him as they were acts like the Beatles in England.

  • No this was early in his career around 71 or 72.He didn't convert until the late seventies.

  • That's sorta what I meant. He converted after the "Majikat" Earth tour in 1976. That was his last performance and the DVD/CD they made from that tour is a must have for Cat Steven's fans. Awesome song selection and he's at the top of his game.

  • class act .. one of the best singer/song writers of all time.

  • this song seems very magical to me.does anyone have any ideas what its about

  • Beautiful...

  • Excellent, excellent, excellent

  • That is so beautiful, but for some reason ithe performance makes me want to cry ...I don't know, innocence lost or just plain you never anything that wonderful in music today. As a sixties person, (I was born the same year as Cat) I always knew I would love Rock and Roll, but sometime during the last decade I got left out. I'm glad young people are getting to know our wonderful music again through, dare I say it, youtube!

  • @KatAshley2 im 15 and i refuse to listen to crap out now. all i listen to is the classics lol

  • @KatAshley2

hum, I feel exactly the same, only I was born a decade earlier

  • @KatAshley2 This song has the same effect on me. I cry and wish I was back there.

  • @KatAshley2 I know how you feel, the reason why you want to cry is because you tuned in to Cats message without realizing it, his music and words goes deep into our imaginations and can conjure up things that can make us laugh, cry or ponder, all of his music is written like this, he is and will always be a seeker and the people who relate to him are also seekers in their own right, feel good that you are a sensitive human being with deep thoughts, because the world and people can be very cold.

  • Wooooow, I love Cat Stevens voice

Que hombre tan hermoso, que voz tan dulce, que serenidad hay en ella

  • What a gem!! I was asked to pretty-please play a Cat Stevens song, so I checked him out & found found this!! I knew of the guy, but this totally blew me away! I painfully learned & played it & now 10,000+ YouTubers have heard my effort!!I think it's all down to the pussy cats vid, but thank you x10,000 for this post :)

  • =[) WOOOOOOOOOOO

  • So pure and enchanting. Love it :)

  • Dark Angel and Fair Angel, again, and somewhere I think is Larry Steele (with the Jimi Hendrix hairdo).

  • Ooooh a house just like that!

I love his songs, his voice and his serenity.

  • If Jesus were a singer will sing like this.

  • Great live version from 1971.

  • hello

  • hello

  • beautiful

  • WOW.

  • an amazing sing....really brillant...!!
