Can you have a non-Christian in your worship band?

It's really simple. Scripture says in 2 Corinthians 6 verse 14. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

There is a greater responsibility as a musician. When you are called by God you choose to answer. Remember many are called but few are choosen. A non Christian does not have the ABILITY to serve if he is not saved. How can he lead someone to salvation

@TheCelestialTeacup Being accepting and welcoming does not mean that Christians accept sinful behavior. Love the sinner. Hate the sin. There are many times where we are told to rebuke people for misdeeds.

I would welcome anyone into our worship service who is seeking to learn more about God. That doesn't mean I would invite them to teach a children's Sunday School class. The purpose of music in worship is to bring the congregation closer to God. How can non-Christians do that.

@hrprivett well, yes i was replying to someone else's comment, but there is a difference between a non believer and a non Christian, believing just means you believe he's there, a Christian walks with him in there everyday life. Just because you're not a Christian doesn't mean you don't believe in Christ, it means you're not saved, you're not living your life for him. hopefully that clears up what i said.

You know,i was almost afraid to watch this for fear that he would say something like you just have to go with your gut feeling, but was so blessed to hear him use the scripture. There is no missing the mark on using the scrituers it is Gods word. i am a worship leader and am going to share some of this wisdom that he has said with my worship team.

Non-believers means people who have never placed their faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God will not simply let everyone into heaven who believes in Him. Even Satan believes in God. Only in the cross is Gods perfect love and perfect justice satisfied. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but by Me. That excludes ALL other religions. Thats right, the Bible is politically incorrect and is totally exclusive. But it is the Truth.

Excellent video! Non Christians should be welcome in everything EXCEPT service/leadership. The worship band is pure service & leadership: singers, instrumentalists & ALL. The ushers, the preaching, the elders... are all leadership positions. A non Christians should not be put in any such position, unless God asks for it which will be a one-of-a-kind request for a rare, special reason. The non Christian can be a guest musician if their music is pure, but they must not be given service positions.

No, I'm not. I used to be a sinner, and I have sinned, but the saved are not still sinners because they are no longer slaves to sin. If you are going to argue about that don't bother cause i won't. Jesus hung out with sinners and ALL SINNERS SHOULD BE LOVED AND WELCOME TO CHURCH AND SHOULD BE TREATED WITH DEEP LOVE AND ENCOURAGEMENT. But this is something else. @mmfootball13 I am NOT a sinner, and I can go a full day, and says without sinning. It is VERY POSSIBLE through the Holy Spirit, but you have to have that understanding to receive it. In fact, I am aspiring to the day when I will receive supernatural (perfect) love from the Lord and be perfect from that day on till I meet Him in glory. @baltusd God cries for every person who chooses hell instead of heaven. He created hell for the devil and the fallen angels who stood in the presence of God and chose to leave. I love how people try to use the word intolerant. We are called to love but we are not called to let the world in and destroy what Christ has built... Come to know Christ if joining a worship band is a great concern for you your life will be changed forever and you will live a life of fullfillment.

If you are calling intoerence asking us to give up what God through His Word has told us what to do then so be it. But I think you may have confused compromise and intolerence confused. Be blessed.

Tolerance is not a biblical concept. Jesus was not tolerant, he "hung out" with sinners, but he did not become a sinner. He challenged sinners to change their ways. Jesus was not a tolerant person because he wanted to "change" people. I think way to many people make Jesus the Jesus they want to "fit" their beliefs.

How is his scripture used out of context? It is obvious that there were no "worship bands" in the Old or New Testament. But there were the Levites who were a whole tribe of people who acted out religious duties, including worship leading. So as the argument follows, the only example we have of worship leading in the bible are people who are believers. Everyone on the stage is a worship leader, therefore, everyone should be a believer.

oh mi God! awesome ! i had a band and our drummer was not a christian ...one of the things that became apparent was he could not flow in prayer nor in worship..u know oft times when u sing ...u somehow flow into worship? it was so strange and very awkward for him.Everytime we prayed.. he would excuse himself etc. and i could go and on .If the priest in the old testament had to have a rope tired to him lest he die in the temple..hmmm... i think anyone in worship shld seek God's counsel b4....

I for one am not christian but my best friend is christian he does not hate me or try to force his relgion on me and i dont force my veiws on him either. If being christian means to be discrimnating then he fails. but hes a better person then you will ever be.
