It's actually not fake. You can get those curls, not just from that straightener, but from a simple cheap one.

You don't need any chemicals in your hair, you just need to have clean prewashed and dried hair.

Mousse would come in handy, but you don't need it unless you don't want your curls to fall out.

yeah I know what you should do: i have curly hair also, and it was a big problem for me before, but now I can choose, straight or curly ^^ FIRST of all, if you have a flattening iron, and you have tried it out, and it did'nt work; throw it away and get another proffesional one that can reach 200 degrees celsius at least. Then you HAVE to have some kind of protection spray, I use Swartzkopf osis+ flatliner 3. then remember to take small amounts of hair all the time, otherwise it wont work ^^

Those kind of curls look very fake and.... to done. I use a chi to curl my hair and when i'm done curling my hair, it looks very natural. Also the kind of straightners that kind of get stuck while in the middle of doing a curl make ur hair friz and go all over. The chi just glides right along!

looks great but surly this is worse for your hair as i have very curly hair and straigten it everyday nd its really bad. to do it like this you have to keep the heat on it more therfore causing more heat damage to your hair.

Well as a hair stylist, I'd say yeah it may look hard to do, but technically its not. As for the straight iron - its not really the best available. You can get a better one which is reknown and used by all professional stylists. The GAMMA, made by GAMMA International.  You can get ones that are made in all sizez, and even flat irons that are easy to use to make curls. Curls are easy to made with any straight iron if you twist the hair around the plates as you pull the iron down the strand.

This was done by Aquage. You should just use an iron instead of the flatiron. Cool trick but not practical to do your self. It's faster to just use an iron. Also, you must have products that allow the hair to slip or it will stick to the flatiron and scorch.

This works if you use a ghd, they have wrapped the hair around too many times and it shouldnt struggle through like that. Look up ghd videos on youtube and they will show you a waaaay better way to do it.

I don't know if you already got an answer, but yes, you can curl with any flat iron, but it has to be thin and round kind of like that one, not the ones with the kind of square shape.

For those of you trying to do this...make sure you don't have a BUNCH of split ends because that kinda ruins it. Also you have to pull a lot on your head for this style but it's all worth it because the look is beautiful!
