those turntables are the worst ever. they are sooo "empty" like digital sources! we love vinyl because of its free, warm, "human" sound. you can buy a cd player instead of a clearaudio turntable. they are both dry without "air". and i don't mean "colouring" the music, i'm talking about real music as it comes out of real instruments played by humans! i was one of the fools that once had one of the terrible clearaudio turntables! thank god i got rid of that!!!
I was thinking of getting one of these, Maybe a bluemotion or emotion Red. IDK I have been going crazy with all the specks and Audiophile TT prices. It seems the sky's the limit on these things. How do you like this one so far?
ur up the mountains...a wonderful place for ur system!...
all the time i record lp to cassette tape...its so nice..u get all the sweet frequencies....
i dont have to worry about wornout of lp...and always play the cassette before and while sleeping....hehehee...cheers for the analog sweet music...by the way i use cro2 cassette for better sound...
Boring Song..............:-(.With this turntable you used sould only listen classical music and nothing else.Symphonies, Tone Poems, Richard Strauss. You are listening boring music.....
I agree, throw the cd player in the trash and step into the analog world. Real HiFi delivery for about 100 years. I have a clearaudio player myself and i will never get rid of it.
....Have you thought of using a clamp? Or you have used a clamp and could not hear the difference? The clamps purpose is to eliminate/reduce slippage, this slippage can have some audible results for some ears,I havent heard the difference, but I have seen it played out, if you play a record with out a clamp and time it, and then play the same record on same table with a clamp, the clamped record will time out about a second maybe even slightly more, earlier than the unclamped record.
Screw Blue Note for 1) signing up a pure non-jazz artist to a legendary jazz label; and 2) not pressing a Blue Note record shown here on the Blue Note classic logo style for the label. Also great turntables can be found in thrift stores, look for Dual and, if you are extremely lucky, Thorens; Dual turntables are workhorses, you will niver pay over $20 in thrift stores, just put a new stylus on it and enter the wonderful world of analogue. On the low end, Radio Shack sells a standard turntable.
I had a Dual/Ortofon TT then switch to Shure V15 cartridge. Yeah, good work horse. Then later, a Denon DP-35F with DL-302 moving coil cartridge. the Denon blows the Dual away, and has clearer, particularly vocals, sweeter sound than any CD's I've ever heard. And well, we're not talking extremely high-end here.
When anyone says the name "Denon," you automatically bow, just as the Munchkins did when they heard the name "The Great Oz." Denon definitely is in a class all of their own.
I found myself a 1972 vintage Dual 1219 in mint condition. Cleaned it and relubed it using the Garage-a-records lube kit. It runs oh-so beautifully. As for this Clearaudio, I think its gorgeous.
As for Bluenote, the quality of recording is a lot better than most any other popular recordings.
Congrats on your finding a brand new and longtime "friend." The Dual will bring you much musical happiness for decades. I was so pleased to find Dual had actually made a 45 rpm disc adapter, which allows me to stack and play my countless 45 rpm singles. I have the 1218, 1228, 1229, all of them picked up in Los Angeles area thrift stores and yard sales for less than $20 each. Fix them with an excellent cartridge and then sit back and enjoy your entrance to another world where music comes alive.
@rolfruit Lovely looking turntable...What cartridge are you running? I have just upgraded to a Sumiko Evo 3 on my Roksan Radius 5. It's gorgeous but ridiculously fragile, and very exposed. I think I'm going to invest in a custom built cover for it, as Roksan don't supply them.
i have the same and i m thinking to go for level 1,i m confused as your champion is black and has a clear basis?or is the level 1 with black and clear basis???
hi there, the custom made bottom plinth was fabricated to the exact specifications with accordance to the Champion level 1 upgrade. I chose use clear acrylic instead of the usual black.

I love this track. I use it as a test track when I position my speakers - acoustic guitars left and right, and vocals clear and dead center.
