  • An American treasure, Mr. Willie Dixon.

  • One of America's great songwriters....RIP!

  • Awesome cinematography, audio, song, and man.

  • This is about my very favorite vintage clip of all time!!!! Thank you for posting this.

  • Weak brain and a narrow in the knee.

  • I think the sewing machine makes the video

  • Holy crap! The meaning in two of his notes is unbelievable. No more needs be said. Intro is like House of the Rising Sun!

  • the out of tune guitar works well (probably unintentionally) but manages to make it more raw

  • what tuning for this song?

  • @kickalion standard

  • great atmospheric number from a true great

  • " Weak Brain and Narrow Mind " is on many of his albums and is a well known song .

  • I do need to say this to you as I worked with Willie Dixon and was Marie Dixon's best friend . ALL OF HIS STUFF is copyright via " Bug Music " in Hollywood , and The Blues Heaven Foundation in Chicago . I suggest you get this off of youtube before you get into legal trouble with his estate . You have to get a license thru Bug Music for any of his works . I produced his last single before he died . I own the master and still have to go thru his people for a license to release it .

  • @Vernellsmusic It's been up for 5 years now... please don't tell on us! :-)

  • Dolphins Head Coach Tony Sparano sent out a spirited message to Dolfans! He said he needs you all at the stadium & that the team needs your support & undying loyalty. He finished up with "We're going to get there (GET THERE-WHERE? DAMN-iT) one way or the other. I hope its with you but we'll do it without you" What do you think about his message? Will you be cheering on the Fins @SunLifeStadium this season Sound off here @WPLG Your responses will be read on WPLG Local 10 News @6am "BELiEVE"

  • Wow! Fucking wow!

  • So powerful..gives me chills..a tender,insightful moment from a mighty,mighty man

  • the guy introducing dixon sounds like morgan freeman~

  • @allamericandiner Lol I never thought about Sunnyland Slim sounding like Morgan Freeman, but they are from the Mississippi Delta. Sunnyland was from Vance and Morgan Freeman grew up in Greenwood.

  • favfavfav yea where IS this solis chik he's talking about?

  • is this song in an open tuning or something? I looks like he's fretting a D, but it sounds like an Am!

  • Dolphins stink. They have such medicore talent. You think they can beat the jets or pats? The dolphins are racing to finish third against the bills.

  • thanks for the strong brain willie

  • Too beautiful to be removed. I think It's ok about copyright because it's old enough. Thx for this video, keep it up.

  • Great post!

  • Il est vrai. Pas de fioriture, pas de niaisage, pas de grimace. L'homme qui chante. Le blues people. On dit merci.

  • WEAK BRAIN NARROW MIND BY WILLIE DIXON AND SHOWCASED BY MRALLGOOD007 ON YOUTUBE HIS NEPHEW

  • Thanks for posting this. Just Sunnyland Slim's introduction was worth it

  • solo una guitarra y una voz....

  • awesome lyrics and chord progressions. this shit is amazing. willie dixon was the king.

  • Simply amazing. And by that I mean of course the man had talent no doubt but it goes to show that it doesn't take pyrotechnics and complicated arrangements and fancy clothes to touch a persons heart. This touched me deeply - it's so haunting & simple. It's beauty lies in it's simplicity.

  • @Mr1962KDSelvis Yeah...all those other things are there to compensate for the lack of real soul and feeling coming through in the music. I consider those kinds of people musical entertainers, and anyone can learn how to do that. This guy has something you could never teach, and all with one guitar and one voice! Doesn't even need a microphone, let alone a light show etc......

  • Happy B'day Willie!

  • this song is on the dvd American folk blues festival 1962-1966 volume one.

  • Oh this is just freaking incredible.

    RIGHT ON!

Thanks for sharing this man. Very cool.

  • Great stuff. Thanks for posting.

  • One and Only .. He was Blues !

  • Remember this guy wrote You need love, and there's Whole lotta love an Led Zep.

    And many other tunes.

  • khreat - 7.000 stars

  • wow,when&where was this filmed?

  • Somewhere between 62 and 66 in germany I believe. I guess it's on one of those blues festival dvd's. I have one. But it shows a different setting. Found this one on the net. Haven't seen it anywhere else since.

  • just enjoy

  • @nedodge0506 You can rent this from Netflix. It's a German TV show called "Folk Blues" or something like that.

    one of the greats.....

  • one of true legends i think that term is used to much these days

  • ...shouldn't be used these days

  • Thanks lampens..youtube rocks...I'm learning so much about the blues.. I can't stand it.

  • willie dixon was one great songwriter, one of the best. he definitely no virtuoso on the guitar, plays it like a bass haha. but nonetheless this song is phenomenal.

  • So cool to see him playing a guitar instead of that upright bass.

  • "The strong overpower the weak

    The smart overpower the strong."

This song is beautiful and incredible.

  • amazing like the face of the god head

  • a real genius!

  • If you got a strong brain and your mind is smart Nothin' in the world is gonna be too hard

We gonna keep on goin' before others start

  • Woah, this song really gets me everytime.

I remember listening to it in a time i was really fucked up, and it helped me to get through all the shit.

  • i feel you

  • This is one of the reasons I love youtube! Thanks so much for posting this historically important video.

  • The guy introducing Willie is another famous musician -- Sunnyland Slim was a barrelhouse and juke joint piano player dating back to the 1920's-1930's.

  • Wow

  • i was just thinkin' the same thing.

  • ty for sending this one...i thought it had been taken down. very rare to see willie playing guitar, here in chi-town we know him as playing that great big old stand up bass.

  • i always got your back bro!!

  • Willie was the Blues!

    Willie is the Blues!

    Willie will be the Blues!

  • Willie I covered this song and I hope i did it justice. The blues don't come easy.

  • Amen! That's why they're the blues.

  • folks, willie dixon is the greatest blues composer of the 20th century, that's just the way it is.

  • Great!

    Thanks!

  • Willie Dixon=Legend.

  • bluest blues

  • This is amazing.

  • Aside of wikipedia or any dictionary, can anyone chat off their connections with the term and the word and the perhaps emotion with the actual color "blue"

    thx

  • Knowing, sad heart, frustration, god witness, feeling someone elses pain,

    loneliness, texture of life

  • It's strange

The color blue in contrast to red is of a higher frequency.

You may have heard of "bluray" and whatnot. This is used for it's greater information density in the energy spectrum.

My wonder though is that perhaps there is some obvious correlation I could be missing. I normally associate higher frequency with excitement and a lower freq with something akin to "the blues".

  • A rare glimpse into the African soul.

  • He was American.

And it doesn't matter at all what he was. He ruled, period.

    that's the blues homie

  • Willie Dixon is my effin hero

  • What year was this made? Anyone know? This is such a beautiful recording, thanks for posting.

  • probably in 62, it's from American Folk Blues Festival.

  • A true genius.

  • The last record Willie produced was for 2 friends of mine: Chickasaw Mudd Puppies---check 'em out. Willie was the greatest.

  • There is a lot of life philosophy in blues.

Constipation blues and this one are good examples!

and what wisdom of life there is behind that voice!

Great and 5 stars - thx 4 sharing...

We are long gone when the....so true
