One of the best soloists in this industry. Makes everything sound like its floating like water. This man has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO PROVE. So for all the haters out there, this man has accomplished great feats. He's paved a way for all of us drummers to be appreciated along with Buddy Rich, Vinnie, Tony Williams, Chris Dave, and every drummer out there. There's a place for every type of music.

i think Dave Weckl has always had his best performances with Chick Corea (safe the solo on High Life; on notably the best DWB-output. i'm just having 5jM6O3IGUl0 play in another window ;-)

wow! now that's impressive! When you can make your own band mates during a gig say wow or just make them drop their jaws that's pretty amazing considering how often they play together, you would think they would know Dave's limits.... i guess he just proved he doesn't have any.

He's just SICK! In terms of speed/technique/precision, there's nobody better. JMHO. (And I'm a huge of Vinnie, Chad, Bozzio, Chambers among many others.) There's something about Weckl's playing that is... untouchable.

It seems to me that it is simple triple notes: both feet and right hand...simple to do it alone.. not so simple to put it along the music, as perfect as he does...

@felipeviegas Indeed, base base tom if i'm correct. But his triplets are amazing, in any form or combination of hand and foot.

He's playing 16th note triplets between his 2 bass pedals and his right hand on the floor tom. [floor tom-bass-bass] repeatedly and then in the last revolution he throws in a snare at the end. Rock drummers like Portnoy do this all the time (it's a way to save endurance, so you don't have to play the whole fill with your hands, or just add dynamics), except they usually play them in groups of 4: bass-bass-tom-tom repeatedly. It's very easy once you get the feel for it.

no i seen dave play this live and he doesn;t use two bass drums,he uses only the right pedal,he;s right handed.theres a video on here where you can see it.

@y2rock He's just doing doubles alternating bass drum and right hand. It looks like he's using both feet. I just use one foot though (I tried using a double bass pedal but didn't have the patience to work on my left foot). Its a fun lick to add to your vocabulary. Good luck with it!
