You know, the only thing I dnt like about Frida is that she left her children while they were quite young with her grandma to go and pursue her music career. Im not sure I understand mothers who would do that.
She is interviewed in Norway. But she speaks swedish, and the reporter ask the questions in norweigian. Swedish and norweigan are almost the same language. Frida was borned in Norway but moved to Sweden as a very small child when her mother died and have spend her upbringing and hole life in Sweden.
He was a Tv profile many years ago, and he asked her if it was okay for us (Norwegians) to claim a part of Abba on account of her norwegian heritage. I just thought it was tacky and bad taste.. He probably didn't know the story of Synni and Alfred, if he did I am afraid more braindead questions would've come out of his mouth.
Remind me again to translate this.. Although embarrasing, I will do it.. Right now I'm at work, so just a quick remark now.. :-)
Reporter: - I was wondering if you could answer me in norwegian, but your norwegian is rather poor isnt that so?
Frida:- Yes, it is very poor.. (In norwegian) Im not very good at speaking norwegian, but I understand it very well.
Reporter:- Does it occur at all, that you come here to visit old sites, here in old Norway? (He is using phrases that only norwegians use, wich make it seem like he is testing her ability to understand).
Reporter:- You know how it is, at least some of us likes to point out that i.e Tordenskiold (A norse warhero from the nordic wars of 1709 1720) has norwegian background, Holberg (A norwegian born, living most of his adult life in Denmark, - author and historian. B. 1684 D. 1754) wich was norwegian and now you aswell, .. we very much would like to claim some sort of norwegian part of Abba. Do you grant us(He is now asking on behalf of all norwegians it seems) this?
Frida:- But of course, all who wants can share a part of me as long as it doesnt (I cannot sort out what she is saying for sure, but..) get to deep.(??)
Reporter:- How is it now, in your young age.. Have you achieved, what I would call insane celebrity status?.. and I understand it also has resulted a great deal of wealth,.. What do you now desire?
Frida:- Well, I dont desire much else than to be allowed to carry on in this profession that I love very much. And its my wish that I can stay healthy, and that I can keep working with music and my singing. That is my wish. (A word here I cannot make out) All that (??) success, I have allready lived through, so that is not so improtant. But to be able to work, is something I very much want to keep doing.
Reporter:- Would that be on your own, or together with Abba?
Frida:- That is not important. As long as the group excists, I think its nice to work together with them. But I also think... (Something is lost here 1:29). .....- I cannot say, but probably for a few more years, I should think so.
Reporter:- So now you are dropping by in Norway for just a short while.. Its just a few hours.. Why is it people in your line of work always have so extremely short (cannot make out his word here, but sounds like fast time??) (1:47)?
Frida:- (Laughing).. Well, I guess its because,.. I assume its interesting that.. (The interview clip ends abruplty here)

I hope she knows that she is truly loved here in Norway.. Alltough her mothers story is a sad one, I'm still happy things turned out the way they did.
