This song takes me back to my Christmas vacation in Maui in 2009, I would get up at like 5:30 put on my yellow and black adidas runners and go running with this album on my ipod. It was so nice to be running that early, myself and all the other runners that were out that early had the place to ourselves. I would usually extend my runs by having a starbuck's by the palm tree's and ocean listening to some Metheny. Really really great album.
This tune really got me into Pat. A little Lee Riteniour, George Benson, Pat Martino, and Wes all tucked into a nice little package. I'm practicing my guitar against it as we speak. SOLD!
At that time I think Clear ChanneL faded and Greater Media took over but Greater Media did last long so it just died in but yes WjjZ was the best thing that happened to Philly like WDAS. WDAS changed a little but @ 7pm i can still get the 7o's 8o's in the evening. Shout out to PhiLLy ! =)
@cartoonist1975 - Yeah, fam - I don't know why that station went belly-up after moving up the dial to 90-something FM. WJJZ was the best thing to happen to Philly radio since WDAS-FM & WDAS-FM is 105.3 & still going strong. True smooth jazz-heads have been diggin' on PMG long before WE LIVE HERE but this venture seems to reach a broader audience & that's what matters. "To The End Of The World" is a nice, long, mellow joint, too. Great post. Peace, peoples
hello guitar fans, who want to know the work of tb Mazin Silva, Brazilian guitarist, feel free to listen to Brazilian guitar,,,, Mazin SILVA (search youtube)
this always came on the V98.7 Detroit's jazz station and it was the most catchiest off all the tunes.... this was the song that made me fall in love with jazz as well....i would always catch m yslef humming the chorus.... i've been lookin for this song ever since finally found it!!!!
It is a real shame that this awsome band suffered a terrible loss with the death of Mark Ledford back in 2004. I hope that Metheny and company will continue on with such amazing songs like this one.
My favourite part in this track is 4:30, the piano solo.
