The harpsichord is after Taskin (not, if memory serves, a rebuild of a Ruckers), conspicuously featuring a peau de bouffle stop (jacks are leather instead of quill, which is where the bass is coming from), of which Leonhardt made brilliant use. Leonhardt was the 1st proponent I know of to really 'get' inegalite. Almost syncopation in slow motion. Cf. F. Couperin, Prelude #7, l'Art....

Wonderful phrasing ... amazingly great harpsichord sound (was it the harpsichord built by Martin Skowroneck of Bremen for Gustav?)
