  • ...Duphly is rococo chronologically, with the difference that his conscious influences go all the way back to Louis Couperin and Chambonniers. Inimitable.

  • Many thanks to whoever uploaded this. Not heard since the ABC/Seon LP (1977?), bought new with allowance money.

The harpsichord is after Taskin (not, if memory serves, a rebuild of a Ruckers), conspicuously featuring a peau de bouffle stop (jacks are leather instead of quill, which is where the bass is coming from), of which Leonhardt made brilliant use. Leonhardt was the 1st proponent I know of to really 'get' inegalite. Almost syncopation in slow motion. Cf. F. Couperin, Prelude #7, l'Art....

  • Wonderful phrasing ... amazingly great harpsichord sound (was it the harpsichord built by Martin Skowroneck of Bremen for Gustav?)

  • @cabottobac no in cd leonhardt play rubioharpsichord after Taskin.

    thank you for listen!

  • Walking,Divinely through the clouds. What Music!!!!!!
