  • mr. kravitz had the best lines.

  • Tabatha is a brunette as a baby? She grew up to be a blonde?

  • Broom Jockey!!!!! Laughed my ass off hysterical!!!!

  • Bewitched was not shot in the early fifties. It aired between 1964-1972. By the third season, the show had switched to "living color" as was promoted in a voice over by Elizabeth Montgomery in the opening commercial. I loved the way Elizabeth spoke, and I remember as a young girl of 10 years old, rushing to sit in front of the tv in time to say her lines with her. And the color aspect of all the new season shows was the biggest draw of all as color tv's became more accessible to families.

  • LMAO @ 5:46 hahah ha Endora's face is PRICELESS!!!!

  • why does gladys look 50 pounds lighter in this episode...

  • @SexyRaww She was dying.

  • @IstvanN1961 from what?

  • I read that Alice Pearce knew she had cancer as far back as 1964 when she auditioned for the role of Gladys, but didn't tell the producers for fear that they wouldn't have cast her (whether or not she knew it was terminal yet at that point I don't know, but cancer prognosis in those days was even bleaker than today) She knew she could still perform despite the illness and she was right. Glad she didn't say anything until after she landed the part, and we at least got 2 seasons of her talent.

  • Alice Pearce filmed this episode (her final one) about 5 weeks before she died---she had already passed away by the time it aired. You can see just how sick she was, but she was a trouper, and her performance was as good and energetic as always. I assume the producers knew she was sick for a long while---long enough to keep the earlier episode ("The Prodigy", filmed 6 months earlier) in reserve before airing it at the end of the season as a tribute to Alice.

  • Endora had broken the Witches Honor. Shame on her!

  • Am I the only one who thought Derwood was a whiney crybaby? "Why can't I have a nice normal family? Why can't I have nice normal family?"

  • I wish Endora could read me a story :(

  • He wasn't trying to be rude or sexist...Harvard DID NOT accept girls back then...

  • Adner is incredibly rude, and also a boring character. Mrs. Kravitz is a great example of how it is often the case that the one who most tries to open people's eyes and reveal the truth, is also the one most ridiculed or dismissed.

  • @purplecornflake agreed

  • i just realized that endora has a lazy eye.. haha its kinda creepy! look closely and u can see it

  • You know what i want to know my tabitha grows up with blond hair

  • I like Darrin's jacket when he's at the office.

  • broomjockey! best insult yet, lmao

  • THE HECK WITH U ILL ASK TABATHA!! LARRY IS SO FUNNY!

  • "It's Darien! uhh..darrin."

  • Endora is truly the life of the show, love it!

  • Don't you luv how Endora just pops in @ the exact, right moment! Awesome...talkin' bout "..where do you think she got it..." Lol!

  • Haha..at 19:18-19:21 the reporter next to the lady in teal keeps moving his hands...XD...lol...cool stuff =P

  • Things have changed since then. Darrin said " Harvard University? But she's a girl." I am so grateful that things like this didn't stay as they were.

  • Yup. As I posted above, Harvard College didn't accept girls until 1972.

  • Not all things have changed for the better. In one episode Endora invites Sam to go shopping on Sunday, Sam replies, "It's Sunday, all the stores are closed" then came the invent of malls.

  • i like the total cereal commercials...NO SOUND!!!

  • mrs pearce passed away a little over 2 months after this was filmed. we lost a great actor

  • absolutely

  • The grandmother said "He's right here in my arm" when she was holding Tabitha...what's with that?

  • Mrs. Kravitz was so funny on the clip

    (23:08-23:14).. she is such a funny actress...lol

  • they r so dwnrite disrespectful, all of them.

evn if she could speak early, u dnt USE ur employee's child like that or ambush ur neighbors and try to out them like that without their permission

  • hmm darrin's eyes are brown, blue eyes are a recessive trait... and arent samantha's eyes supposed to be green?

  • If Darrin's genes are Bb as opposed to BB and there's blue eyes in the family, it's technically possible. What IS impossible is that he has brown eyes yet both his "parents" (I think) have the recessive blue eyes.

  • @jadealane0223

yes but endoras eyes are blue.

but its true that blue eyes are recessive

both my mom and dad have blue eyes

and so do i and both my sisters

all 5 of us have blue eyes

  • GOSH DARN IT ALL GLADYS AAAHG

  • at the point of the show in 19:25 - 19:28 the man in the light blue suit is moving his finger around while holding a pen and they're all suppose to be frozen i live finding out and noticing these small things i always thought they were in actual freeze frame like the studio took a snapshot

  • In Samantha, the dressmaker, they do the same thing. There's a time when everyone's frozen, and you can see people shaking and blinking :P

  • that's because now we can make people "freeze" through special effects. actors then had to literally hold still to create this effect. pretty hard. remember this series ran through the early 1950s

  • The colorization is amazingly done. At least I think so...but sometimes their eyes look a little strange.

  • Tabitha looks like a boy in this episode. Why?

  • Sam looks really cute with her hair up dont u think?

  • the people are still moving when frozen

  • I hate Gladys she's ALWAYS meddling!

  • did anyone else notice that mrs kravitz is wearing her sweater backwards

  • FYI...Prodigy was shown after this episode, but it was filmed about 6 months before. It was a flashback episode to when Sam was pregnant with Tabitha. The producers kept this show back and aired it as the final episode of the 1965-66 season in June 1966 as a tribute to Alice Pearce who died on March 3, 1966. Prodigy was also the final black and white episode of the show. When season 3 premiered in Sept. 1966, it was all color from there on.

  • hell! I wanna ring his neck!

  • RIP: Alice Pearce

As I watched more and more...I noticed how Alice got thinner and thinner. Then I realized she was sick.....It was sad for me to watch knowing that fact.

  • Who is Alice Pearce? What was she sick with?

  • She played the original Mrs. Kravitz. She later passed way because she had Ovarian Cancer I believe. I think she is the best Mrs. Kravitz. The lady after her...didn't really live up to the role that well.

  • i love how when people are frozen you can see them blinking and shaking

  • HARVARD UNIVERSITY! But she's a GIRL!!!

  • i know. that ticks me off.

  • At the time women were not accepted as individuals as much..

  • She's a girl as in she's a little girl.

  • Harvard College in Harvard University didn't become co-ed until 1972.

  • Alice Pearce was Mrs. Kravatiz right?

  • Yes, but then Sandra something took her place because she had died of ovarion cancer

  • i didn't know that at all, now i feel bad for disliking her character :(

  • gladys is my favorite character. she makes me laugh so hard. i just love her. :)

  • This is one of my favorite episodes. It is also the final episode Alice Pearce filmed before she died from ovarian cancer. Look at how painfully thin she is in this show. What a great and funny lady she was!........................."ABNER!!!!!!"

  • aww thats sad! Ya I was noticing how thin she was in the dress making one =(

  • wasn't she in the later season 2 episode, "the prodigy"? with her brother louis?

maybe the channel has the episodes out of order or something

  • No, kate9vb. They placed "The Prodigy" at the end of the season in tribute and honor to Alice Pearce. (wikipedia)
