  • Just read your comments below the vid. and seen you bought him that size. You may not be able to answer my question. Also, even at this age, he is also constantly nose rubbing the screen to try and escape, is this really a sign of being male?

  • @rvanderzel - yes i already bought him at that size, it generally takes a snakes 4 to 6 years to hit full size. and the nose rubbing thing is just a theory i had as all the snakes i have had that have been male have done that

  • I gotta ask man, how long did it take for him to get full grown. My Grey Rat is 2 years old and about as wide as my thumb but maybe a little bigger. He is about 36 in. and eating once a week. I am just wondering if he's small for his age. They say it takes 4 years to get full size.

  • Anyone knows the song? Artist or title, sounds really amazing.

  • there was a snake near my house that was sitting on a hay bail and it was about 8 feet long and some one told me that it was a rat snake but i live in eastern ontario and ussally u only see garden snakes and coper snakes so if u know if these live in eastern ontario near ottawa then can u plz let me now

  • nice snake :) shame you got rid :( just a quick question... i have a juvie bairds rat snake, when he is ready for his adult viv will a 36" be fine or do they need the 48"?

  • @sparkingtonstanly - i have another rat snake just like him look on my channel, and with your snake i think a 36" will do just fine i dont think he will be a 6 and a half foot to 7 foot monster, i dont think the bairds rat snake grows as big as the grey/black rat snake

  • Awesommmmeee

  • @4541mikey - if u like tht then check out my newest rat snake video

  • in the wild they eat tigers and rhinos. True story!

  • @hubertgreen -lol i wouldnt go that far but these things can amazingly swallow some large food haha mine swallowed a large chicken egg whole the other day, it sure was a mouthful

  • i found one of these in my backyard

  • @Implictdesert - i hope you didnt kill it lol

  • @Heatseeker872591 na i caught it and then let it go

    be free !!!!!!!

  • @Heatseeker872591 j'espère aussi c'est un magnifique serpent

  • Nice. Very nice!

  • why it dont attack you?

  • @ProfieHater - they wont attack if they are a placid species

  • how long is that snake?

  • @MultiGaryProductions- 6 and a half feet anbd he was just under 2kg

  • omg..the killer instinct theme tune!! i love that game!!

  • hi! i just got a very small rat snake a week ago, and i wanted to know what kind of stuff i could feed him (other than lil mice)..please! any tip could help

  • did u get him from the wild or CB? i hear they can eat very small lizards and things

  • sweet. my rat snake is onley 3 months old, so he/she is still very small

  • @RobTelrunia - yeah not very fast growers you arelooking at baout a 4 to 5 years wait before one is at such a size as the one in the video

  • Nice terrarium...exept for what's in it then ( don't mean the snake)

  • @qHighFlyerp - yes i understand i use a basic set up as it is easier to clean them out the snakes dont mind, but newspaper is far by so easy to clean out when they poo

  • Haha I found one of these under the seat of my go-kart while sitting on it and it bit my brother, sooo I love snakes now

  • normally how long will they get?

  • They make great beginner snakes they are actually recommended as beginner snakes along with corn snakes

  • Do ratsnakes make good beginner snakes? i have a BP female and was thinking of getting another snake and rat snakes look interesting :)

  • @Juvinator7 - alot of people think rat snakes are just like corn snakes but personally i would not say they are, you keep northamerican rat snakes at a slightly cooler basking temperature than that of a corn snake, (about 83F, where a corn will prefer 84 to 85F) also at snakes are capable of being double the size of a corn snake, not just in length but in bulk and head size aswell, my one is a beast and is capable of eating fully grown rats, i dont however coz i dont want him getting overweight

  • @Heatseeker872591 corn snakes are rat snakes they are in the same genus as a rat snake (Elaphe) that's why they call a corn snake the red rat snake

  • but depending on how long u have had ur python if u have had it for a long while then u should be ok with a rat snake

  • @Juvinator7 rat snakes make great pets for beginners. i have a yearling & my 2 yr old nephew plays with it no problem. sometimes a little skittish but not agressive

  • how long is ur snake ???

  • @199252208 - i believe he was in the 6 and a half foot to 7 foot range, he is an old snake i no longer have this particular one, but i have another now of the same species and almost as big as he was check him out in my videos on my channel

  • What's the name of this song its on one of my favorite games?

  • awesome grey/gray.

  • @FOLLOWTHEREAPER65 - he is a grey or gray rat snake,

  • corn snake is the same thing as a rat snake

  • @MrYawners - no it is not, the grey or black rat snake grows significantly larger and has a much larger head than that of a corn snake, enabling the animal to swallow much larger meals such as large rats, whereas the largest thing the worlds biggest corn snake could swallow is probably a small rat

  • @Heatseeker872591 but how come pepole say thay are

  • @MrYawners -because they are the same genus, the same family but they are different species. for example its like saying a tiger, lion and leopard are all the same but they aren't. however this specis can breed with a corn snake but the offspring would be a hybrid

  • That is a well nice snake

Thinking of adding one of these but will most rat snakes grow this big ??

  • Comment removed

  • Gorgeous boy. My female is almost as big laid 7 eggs yesterday, yay!) but grey rat snakes are pretty much the biggest North American rat snakes.

  • nice snakes..have a 3 lot like that...2 of which are lil over 8 foot

  • found one of these in my back yard that was 4 and a half feet, i killed it or at least i thought i did i came back an hour later and it was still alive so i cut its head off, these things are thuff

  • @appleipodtouch2g uhm, im just asking why did u do that its not like it could kill u or anything :P it doesnt even have poison

  • @TheTissManTADAAAAA Venom not poison... poison is ingested, venom is injected

  • @PHMamba yaya but u get my point :P

  • saw one of these crossin the road the other day, about a 6 footer. pretty common around here i guess

  • want want want want want want want want want want.... DAMN what a beautiful snake...

  • @CALLOFDUTYFREAK950 - not corn snake mate, this is a rat snake 6 and a half foot long, massive head and the girth near enough of an adult royal python, no corn snake gets this big

  • big snake!

  • Big azz rat snake

  • @daverunner - yes check out my new rat snake on my newest videos almost identical to this one

  • God this gives me the hibbie jebbies!

  • @pearldrumsarecool - u scared of snakes? lol

  • @Heatseeker872591 Yes very scared I was walking out to the shop a few weeks ago and when I opened the shop door it hit one of the bradford tree limbs right in front of the shop and when I hit the limb a baby rat snake landed on my arm and ever since then i'm kinda frightend by a snake thank god it wasn't a full grown one though or else I would have had a heart attack. lol

  • what type of cage would you recomend for a baby ratsnake

  • @12badluck - i woudnt really know as i not had any experience with hatchlings but most rat snakes can easily live in a 3 foot by 15inches wide and high until the snake exceeds 6 feet in total length

  • how long is the size of a average ratsnake???

  • @12badluck - between 5 to 6 and a half feet

  • THE DRAMATIC MUSIC MADE HAVE TO GET UP AND DANCE EROTICALLY

  • You can tell he is well taken care of... Great vid and snake.

  • @fishnmaster420 - thank you but unfortunatley he wasnt looked after by previous owner, when i got him i later found out due to unusual pooing behaviour that he had some sort of parasites which i was trying to cure him, unfortunatley even a great reputable reptile vet couldnt cure him, so sadly i passed him on to someone else who believed he could cure him, god knows where he is now. but on the other hand yesterday i got another specimen just like him and fingers crossed that hes a healthy1

  • @iGontierX -no fangs and not venomous

  • that snake is amazing

  • where did u get it

  • Ok i got a 2 part question. First are the males usually bigger than females cause i have an adult male albino and he is huge. I bought him full grown this year. and second, isnt that the killer instinct video game theme song you have playing there?

  • @nsane992002 - yes males are usually bigger but it depens on the genetics of that individual u get small males and big males and small females and big females, and yes it is killer instinct lol

  • Yes that was from killer instinct

  • killer instinct music?

  • I always find it incredible how tolerant snakes are of being handled by humans

  • uhhhhhhh! i looove ur snake mmmmm!

  • @heatseeker872591 hey ive been brought back to this video after a long time by your post about him on The Ratsnake Foundation

    weird

  • @TMSreptiles - yeah thats because that this is him lol i take it you seen this video before then? its my best video of him so far

  • omg my rat snake is crazy! i picked him up and touched him and he freaked out on me! good thing hes not really mine, only taking care of him for the summer. my corn snake is way nicer than him =.=

  • woah beautiful grey rat! huge too! what are the dimensions on that tank you have for him? i really like it!

  • @BingX14 - its 4 feet by 15"width and 15" high

  • @Heatseeker872591 id be worried about a heat bulb so low even if its in a guard.

im trying to get a4ft viv but it would have to be 4ft x18x 18 at least for me

  • so is this a corn snake????

    im confused

  • @TMSreptiles - not at all ,he is a 6 and a half foot , could be nearer to 7 foot, american grey rat snake. closely related to corn snakes and can infact inter breed with them to create hybrids or intergrades. but no corn snake could reach this size and im not talking about length im talking about head size and body mass aswell Magnum is capable of eating a fully grown rat

  • @Heatseeker872591 ok that makes more sense now i thought it might be like a strange overfed corn snake or something that didnt get obese or something

my brother was yelling and it was quiet and all i heard was "corn snake" and was SOOOOOO confused

  • @TMSreptiles - lol i can assure you, even the largest of corn snake specimens will be dwarfed by him. i think in future if i still be keeping snakes that these are what i will probably have, they have a minimum size of 5 feet and a max of 8 feet so no matter what they grow to a large size lol i have a corn snake also whos nearly 4 years old and only 4 feet long and hes got a tiny head lol

  • looks like my cock

  • @mustangcorbra - if your cock is nearly 7 foot long, grey and scaly with sharp teeth id go to the doctor lol

  • awesome and beautiful snake! you must have taken care of him really good! he's so big and healthy!

  • @geomango20 - well i have only had him 2 months, hes 6 and a half years old but as healthy as he looks he certainly isnt/wasnt, after i got him i realized he had mites, a mild RI and some sort of problem where he poops everyday. he definatley wasnt looked after properly by the original owner, i have taken him to the vets and managed to eliminate the mites and the mild RI but i am going to have to take him back again to see what is causing him the problem to shit everyday,

  • Nice snake mate!

  • he likes the camra lol how did you get his to let you handle him so well? he is beautiful

  • @DreamsofCentaurs thanks for your comment, i suppose he is used to human handling, as big as he is definatley a gentle giant

  • @Heatseeker872591 yes deffinatly gona keep him, or her not really sure if Joey it a boy or girl lol.

  • @Heatseeker872591

That male is quite handsome!! I have a female named Lusea. I have had her for about 2 yrs now, and when i first got her, she was little over 2 ft long. she is now 4 ft, 7 inches long. The last time I measured her was about a month ago when she last shed. She eats atleast 2-3 frozen adult mice per week when feeding. She looks like your boy here, only she has more black in her, and orange eyes. too bad u didnt live in michigan. i'd totally mate her with him!

  • @jeimikaze - many thanks for your reply. yes i totally am pleased to own such a huge rat snake. thinking of taking him to the reptile vet soon for a quick check up tho coz i just got a sixth sense that he wasnt looked after to well by the previous owner, as he has been pooping every 2 days near enough in the month i have owned him and i have only ever fed him 3 times in that month. (one small rat a fortnight) due to i think he has been over fed.

  • thats a big rat snake

  • @reptiles115 - thanks for your comment, thats the first thing i said when i first see him for sale at the pet store lol i just had to have him he looks so magnificent. the pet shop owner has had some big corns and rat snakes in in the past but SNAKE is the biggest lol

  • monster. very nice.

  • Sweet Snake~

  • hope the snake is all good and healthy... the snake looks like one good snake ;o)

  • @carscarsandmorecars - yes he is very active and constantly up against the glass, a bit of a shy feeder tho at the mo i had to leave the mouse in a dish and leave the room for him to feed

  • What a beautiful creature, he's so chilled out, do you know how old he is?

  • @BeneethTheSurface - pet shop owner said that he is around 6 and a half years old which isnt even old for a snake lol, original owner traded him in for a boa

  • :]] glad to see you got another snake :]

  • @puppetmaster2122 thanks, i always been into rat snakes and wanted the ultimate one lol looks like here he is. i know no corn snake will ever get this big, not even a hybrid one

  • @Heatseeker872591 :] no problem, yeah, corn snakes that ive seen dont get THAT big.

  • @Heatseeker872591 I have a baby rat snake I found him outside my door step hes sooooooooooooo cute ^.^

  • @DreamsofCentaurs cool are you going to keep him as a pet?
