@380003 lol mate. it was originally a 507 driving unit. .thats why i call it a 507/314 combo:P. its part of a 314 unit these days hence why it says 314203 .which was applied when it came up north
Yeah, I heard. Strange. Wonder what makes them different from the new advanced trains. Wonder why they can deal with the snow beter. Would love to see one on Ayrshire routes!
All 314's should be done up to look like the 0:07. Then they wouldn't get scrapped. Do what they done to the 318's. The thing was the 318's didn't need it, the 314's do.
Cracking video mate! I think it was me who said a while ago this had a Class 507 car on it. It's also named, so a very unique Class 314. To answer the question, yes it has been refurbished inside. The glass/plastic panels either side of the doors are completely different from the Merseyrail interiors and it's been painted blue inside.
Hoping to get to Glasgow soon to try some 314s out. I've heard it rumoured they may be staying on to 2015 though, so could we see one in Saltire livery? Hope so!
ours were refurbed in 2004, more extensively than that. unusual for one car to be different to the other 2.
and in reply to an earlier comment, If you were to put 3rd rail shoes on it and hook them up to the electrical equipment they would be able to operate on DC, they use the same DC switch and running gear as the class 507's and 508's just with ac adaptor equopment in the TOS car
the 507 car must have had an interior refurb? thats not the original 507 interior. before the merseyrail refurb they looked just like the second interior shot
A Class 507 set was destroyed as a result of a serious collision at Kirkdale TMD in 1991. Set 507022 was withdrawn due to a collision with 507004 at Kirkdale in 1991. Driving motor 64388 is now part of 507004 (as the latter's motor carriage was damaged beyond repair) and the other motor carriage, with a changed identity, now forms part of Glasgow-based 314203. To date, this is the only withdrawn Class 507 set.
yeah i noticed that myself:)i have them on video on here just in passing tho on one of my railways bits n pieces videos. wouldnt mind doing an actual pic of them tho:P
it says its a 314 on the black sing at the front and the back of it, if it was a 507 it would say that on it. ITS A 314
