  • They are all just variation of angles to the principle of scissor sweep

  • Is it a regular bridge on your left leg (using the reaction force from the ground) or is it mostly just "swinging" your left leg over (using the momentum from twisting your upper body, extending the hip and then at the end twisting the hips/lower body)? Maybe a little too technical/detailed biomechanical question, but hope you can answer :) Very nice sweep!

  • this is very nice i like this a lot

  • I do it very similiar..Only I establish a butterfly hook on his leg to help turn him over..I also keep the kimura lock the whole way through...Nice variation though..I'll have to try it..

  • @virginiabjj You are right. I should not criticize. If you can hit this sweep, great! I should have stated to be careful about the kimura counter and guard pass from this position. Demian Maia does a great job illustrating the counter to this sweep/submission attempt in his dvd series. Half guard is the game my school plays a lot of and I am just speaking from my experiences.

  • This move takes like a second. I would disagree with lucky. Chances are if he pops his arm out you just push and and flatten your back out. He makes no progress.

  • Bad technique here...if top guy fig 4 his grip...he reverses the kimura with superior position.

  • @luckydawg4life what are you talking about fig 4 his grip? this technique should work if drilled properly and you actually fake the kimura well

  • Jack I would agree with you, seems pretty practical too. Going to try it out...

  • haven't tried this, but looks interesting. basically a sit-up sweep, but done from half guard?
