  • Very nice video. I travelled to Philadelphia on July and I went to Independence Hall.

  • @felino3210 how did you like visiting my hometown of Philadelphia?

  • @Dannymac82 It was awesome! Philadelphia is a very nice city and I found it very quiet. I remember it was so hot and it was ver sunny! I'm coming back to Philadelphia in a week! Greetings. :)

  • lawl i went to a field trip their today

  • Not only is Philadelphia the birthplace of the Constitution, it's a front runner in terms of the birth of restoration of historic buildings. To think that the State House was almost raised for a more contemporary building is amazing.

  • I'm shure glad they saved it as it is an extremely important piece of American history. When was the building almost raised?

  • I believe some time in the mid 1800's. The building had already been modified with the tower and clock on the west side had been removed. They also tried to save the Wm Penn house called the "slate house" on 3rd st...but was unsuccessful since it was bought by a couple who had no regard for historical preservation...also in the mid 1800's.

  • Brings back fond memories of a visit to the entire Independence park area of old Philly. BTW, our kids are raised, and our buildings (thank G-d, not this one) are razed. Happy Independence Day one and all.
