  • Better british than chinese.

  • Comment removed

  • @slim22rj I agree with you, however people in China strongly believed that HK rightfully belong to China and not British.

By 2047, HK may almost fully Chinese when children grown into adults may became Chinese by hearts from learning how to be Chinese and loyal to their true motherland China and people who believed to be British or independent may get less and less in HK. That was one of Deng's plan before he died but Chinese and pro-Beijing HKSAR governments will carry out his wishes.

  • One thing, Hong Kong Island was never known as Victoria Island. There was once a Victoria City, where Central is today, but that was it.

    Good video btw. :) #longlivefreehongkong

  • @antonine426 On the map even on Google Earth it still says "Victoria" though also "Central" as well.

Victoria is not capital city of Hong Kong Kong - Like Singapore Hong Kong is their own capital city in itself.

  • good old days

  • ppl in uk still behave like they a big colonial power - maggie shit herself against the chinese ..she tried acting tough...but chinese would have forced their way in...UK is a second rate country now with little influence....this will be colonised by africans and muslims soon....inshallah

  • @sabineroad The UK has a permanent on the UN Security Council, Her Majesty the Queen reigns over 134 million people, the British Pound is one of the strongest currencies in the world and although we may not be able to claim Hong Kong again, her people will rise against the communist threat. God save the Queen!

  • Hear, hear!

  • @LordSpuggy You forgot the PRC also had a permanent on UN Security Council. Our PM and his government is too friendly with China cos they need China for trade and economics needs,

The Chinese lent two pandas to UK to stay in Edinburgh Zoo for ten years to mark friendship between the UK (particularly Scotland).

The only sour note yesterday was that the UK blamed China for vetoed the UN resolution against the Syrian government whom China and Russia supports.

  • @DavBlc7 I never claimed that PRChina were not a powerful country, I simply wished to oppose the claim that Britain is insignificant on the world stage as that is nothing but complete folly. I'm of the what I'd think should be a universal belief that the people of Hong Kong should have been allowed to choose their own future.

  • @sabineroad are you DRUNK???

  • @sabineroad Chinese already colonising the hong kong, also we don't think that we are big colonial power the only group of people who think this is PRC chinese. PRC chinese always want to colonise and destroy other places

  • 獅龍旗萬歲

  • salute to the british empire.hope one day the british will regain her strength to counter against the last communist in the world.China Communist!!!

  • @mindawareness Last communist in the world? There are still some other Communist countries left - Cuba, Vietnam, North Korea, and Loas.

At the moment China's army is still powerful thanks to money poured into PLA funds to be used for military technology, etc. She also had nuclear weapons too so best not make war with China cos that would lead to World War III (which most people of the world don't want).

  • @mindawareness At this moment I am afraid - our Prime Minister David Cameron wants friends with China and had lots of trade treaties with china, making it impossible for Britain to go to war with China at this moment.

Both sides's goals is to make peace, not war if just to avoid any cause of going to war and then there could be a unwanted World War III! Both have nuclear weapons but wishes not to use them on each other. The US does the same too.

  • @Timpetot

One country, two systems. And with a few rules of decency it's more than perfect seriously. They have much more freedom than their peers in the mainland even, these ingrates.

  • If HK couldn't broadcast the British royal wedding for fear of arousing pro British emotions, this sort of thing has been done by many countries after they got independence from Britain. (Including the U.S.) And India treated former Indian soldiers in the British Army very badly - wouldn't give them a pension.

  • China is a threat to the world!! HK independence is good for the world!!

  • an entire nathional anthem dedicated to the queen my goodness what about the rest, corny as hell

  • Are you aware that news of the riots here in Britain today will boost chance of HK pro-Beijing parties to gain more members.

It may also help pro-Beijing parties to win election next year. Chinese will says to HK people - "British is bad now and China will help you now!"

    Is British very bad?

  • @DavBlc7 The Chinese government spits out propaganda all over the place. It is a shame the Chinese people actually LISTEN to it, rather than realising what kind of human rights abusive and information censoring state they live in

  • @TalonMercenary Yeah that's right - Libyans, Syrians, Tunisians and Egyptians used mobile phone & computers to tell each other to rebel against their tyrannical government. Chinese government used blocking method to stop broadcasting anti-government propaganda and not only the Chinese but also Iranian and Burmese government used same methods.

I think that's why Chinese people listened to state propaganda!

  • fuck america

  • 香港淪陷紀念日14週年, so sad!

  • @fb8568 喜見今日遊行有青天白日旗及獅龍旗!

  • 14 years ago today, British Hong Kong came down for last time and HKSAR flag came up to stay for many years to come along with the Red Chinese flag!

I wonder if British HK flag finished forever?

Happy anniversary HKSAR or rather an unhappy anniversary :-(

  • @DavBlc7 Last year protesers carried small British HK flags but today they did not carry them any more cos I think government banned British HK flags cos fear that it would make Chinese Government unhappy or so I thought.

  • China is a shameless country. Mainland Chinese are just animals.

  • Even though I am American, as a Hong Kong resident I am very nostalgic for British colonial Hong Kong. It just seems things were so much more certain, and there was nothing to fear. People in Hong Kong are slowly being robotized like the mainlanders, only caring about money. The clock will run out eventually in 1947 when Hong Kong has its 2nd handover and the rights enshrined in the Basic Law are thrown to the rubbish bin. I hope change comes sooner rather than later.

  • typo error before " i very much hope its system can go on...!

  • @Timpetot I hear Scots will get independence if they says Yes within three years, meaning the UK could be broken up by 2030.

  • @DavBlc7 70% of the Scots want to stay part of the Union so I very much doubt it will happen

  • @aspiringdrummer17 At that moment, yes but I suspect the SNP may wait till time is right when Scots became fed up with the UK by the time referendum is held. That may be why the First Minister said they will not hold referendum at this moment - might take place within 2 and a half years and he also says support for independence is growing.

    Is he wrong?

  • @DavBlc7 He is right but the support is growing at a much slower rate than the nationalistic Scots especially will admit to. Let's not forget that all the novelties of living in Scotland such as free prescriptions and free University places are all payed for by English taxes. That will all go out of the window if they become independent. Overall it will be a regrettable move for them

  • hope Hong Kong can be back with the British

  • @THERHKP The Scottish National Party win election and this could lead to Scottish independence vote thus this could lead to end of Britain. N Ireland's Sinn Fein could be largest party and would ask for yes/No vote on reunite Ireland. Wales could be forced to follow Scot's example despite Labour's win there.

It will not happen however until the Yes vote occur in all these three countries of the UK. Independences for these countries could lead to dissolution of the UK by 2020 or 2025.

  • @THERHKP I hope not cos dissolution of UK could mean you have no choice but to gain independence (not likely) or stay with China.

  • Historically, the British used the Chinese in Hong Kong as their servants, helped develop British and not Chinese businesses, and banned them from European sections of the City. The Chinese were not even allowed to go out after dark. So yes it's clean, and the trains run on time, but at what cost?

  • I heard rumor that HK TV would not show Prince William & Katie wedding tomorrow (the 29th) live - only small clips. Chinese TV also would not allow it to be screened live too.

    Is this true?

  • @DavBlc7 I hope HK get the better.Wait for better times HK...Yours matheona

  • @matheona It will never get better as long as the Communist party still in power in china.

  • @DavBlc7 OK, I wish you to get to be better as soon as possiable.I believe the truth is still in our hearts forever.Good luck HK.Have a nice times Yours matheona

  • @DavBlc7

It's time to let go of the past. Kings and Emperors are to be respected, but they are things of yesterday. Is the Queen still holding the power to rule in England? Didn't the English parliament disrespectfully vote to behead Charles I on false charges of treason several hundred years ago too?

Look at yourselves, and look at China. China triumphs because they believe in themselves and what they can do. The spirit of man.

  • @SeventhSun: The Queen does still have the power to rule, she just doesn't use it.

  • @TheSmithersy

Yeah shut the fuck up you useless idiot. May you die of drug overdose worshipping monarch (what a great power-distance from ugly commoners like you!) in some abandoned steel mine or shaft. It isn't so hard for you.

  • @SeventhSun: No need for bad language. You've just shown what kind of person you are.

  • @SeventhSun you will die living in a rat infested commune where the dumb people rule.

  • @TheSmithersy Remember it is a constitutional monarchy which means the Queen almost have no power to rule, just reign.

Most of the power lies with the Prime Minister and the Government. Since our joint co-monarchs King William III and Mary II gave away power to Parliament. They're the last ones to rule Great Britain.

You're right, she don't just use it because Parliament have it, not her.

  • @DavBlc7 The Queen does rule and does have the power. It is just that her power is used by teh Govt. Though this can be revoked at any time. This would cause a constitutional crisis and the shit will hit the fan. WAR will occur.

  • @DavBlc7 Hi David, No, I would like to friendly tell you that HK TV in fact showed Prince WIlliam & Katie wedding live via satellite on 29th April already. Most Hong Kong Peoples watched the live that day, including me to enjoy and celebrate together.

  • @albertsamtam Indeed, I would have thought so - CCTV would not show live wedding programme as it was state-run always showing Communist propagandas in China itself - only clips showing the weeding.

I watched it on CCTV9 on that Friday (English language version on Sky) and found there were no live programme of the weeding - only clips of it on news programmes.

If it weren't for basic law protecting media freedom in HK, it wouldn't have showed it without permission of Chinese government.

  • @DavBlc7 Yes, you are right ! China commits Hong Kong to "one country, 2 systems" until year of 2046, that was signed between UK and China in 1984. But I very much its system can go on.....! I was borned in British Hong Kong, most peoples of Hong Kong are still missing and having the speical mood of those days, me too.

  • @albertsamtam That's true but I doubt if it's system can go ahead beyond 2047 (not 2046) but I should think Chinese government if still communist would have talks to sort it out with not only the British but also the US cos China needed trades with the western world.

I think the 50 years period is that to see if the system works peacefully well with China. If successful then China maybe could extend it.

  • @DavBlc7 Oh yes! should be 2047, thanks for your reminder. What you said is right, I hope it could happen. One of my sister's family has migrated to countryside of Lodon, UK for over 10 years, I have never been to UK, I am planning to visit my sister this year or next year; I hope my dream can come ture.

  • @DavBlc7

They certainly don't need arrogant aristocratic despots nor the lures of materialistic and capitalistic excesses to aid in their progression.

And so long as the wedding is shown wholesale in England and notably India what else does it matter as regards to other Commonwealth nations?

And what is so special about Hong Kong as just another a former colony other than the grand opium scheme upon it that your ancestors successfully plotted?

Why are you so hurt and in tears, fatty?

  • My dad lived under British Hong Kong and when we just returned in 2009 he said how dirty the place has become with the Chinese communists in power.

  • you're all fucking retarded they poisoned our country left and gave us all bno's none of us were even good enough to be considered true british citizens

fuck the brits fuck whitey the ccp will fall one day and china will be a place i will be proud to live in

  • @123420727 Well you can blame Mrs Thatcher and her Government, not us - they gave you away to the Reds!

  • @Timpetot Thanks for your deep interest for matheona films.Have a nice days Yours matheona

  • Farewell British HK forever. Fuck UK

  • It will be impossible for the British to take back HK nor gain independence for Hk cos when the 1984 treaty was signed off by Mrs Thatcher, one clause said that Britain must promise that she will not take back HK nor for the former colony to gain independence even after 1997.

China also have right to protect it's sovereignty over HK and put PLA in barracks to defend HK from attacks. China will not leave HK for ever or do they?

  • Cantonese is chinese, is part of china and will always be.

  • Britain = Fascists

  • HONG KONG=BRITISH

    MACAU=PORTUGUESE

  • @Lordiboy14 We Brits and the Portuguese not likely to return to HK and Macau but they can be made independent states and HK can join the Commonwealth as a former British colony if they wish.

  • @DavBlc7

Yay! Long live independent Hong Kong! Down with Chinese Hong Kong!

  • @DavBlc7

The problem is, they don't need your return. Does Brazil need the Portuguese to make a comeback too?

You're still clueless eh, fatty? Goddamn.

  • @Chinastar85 Sorry but after 2047 HK will became part of the People's republic of China and will abolish basic law and replace it with strict Chinese law. The PLA will be free to walk around outside their barracks even on leave.

HK may likely to be run by Communists and set up their party base there. That would happen unless the Communists would somehow be overthrown in mainland China and possibly replaced by a Nationalist or democratic government before 2047. British not likely to return.

  • @DavBlc7

    Sad, but true.

  • good old days.....

  • I love Hong Kong but I hate China!I hate the PRC.I hate the communist. It is really an unhappy memory to live in "Hong Kong China"We miss British Hong.

  • @kwok3708 To hate is not correct.....However I understand you aand thanks for your comment.Long life to Hong Kong.... Yours matheona

  • @matheona Sometimes hate is ok. When you hate evil for instance.

  • @CelticKraut I understand you pretty gooooooooood. My father fell in the Falkland war when I was just a baby.Oh,i undestand you but i am not able to hate very goood argentinians.I was over there.....great people...Sure They are very great people and Ilove them ,really.Question: Are you able to ask me if I feel them to be my enemies?????? Oh......God Save the Queen Have a nice times Yours matheona

  • @matheona

I'm a Hong Konger, I love British Hong Kong and am proud to be a British subject from Hong Kong. I hate the Chinese régime and Chinese Hong Kong as kwok3708 does, but I don't think I hate all Chinese people; I've met many nice Chinese at my current boarding school in England and in China.

  • @douglastytam Well you have no choice but to respect Chinese rule over HK because Britain will not go back to HK cos of promises in 1984 treaty that also forbids any break away from the motherland. that article also put in chinese law that any HK people who rebels against Chinese sovereignty will be punishable as traitors to the motherland - OK if basic law protect you as long as HK people respect Chinese sovereignty.

Imagine If you are British subject and rebel then Chinese will expel you.

  • @DavBlc7

Since 1/7/1997, I have always been respecting the fact that Hong Kong is under Chinese rule. I also believe that Britain will not go back to Hong Kong, neither can Britain nor does She want to.

By the way, if one is aiming at expelling the Chinese from Hong Kong then there is no point for that person to respect Chinese sovereignty; respecting Chinese sovereignty and advocating Hong Kong independence are fundamentally contradictory!

  • @douglastytam Well, about several years ago, Chinese parliament passed a law that forbids any territories that had declared Chinese Sovereignty even Taiwan to break away from China.

Hong Kong and Macao are included in it. Someone who wishes to break away from the motherland is declared a traitor to the country.

That law was made after Taiwan elected a independence-minded president. Nowadays, the law is still there even though Taiwan elected another president. who wanted friends with China.

  • @DavBlc7

Yes, I'm indeed aware of that. If one is determined to advocate HK independence than no matter what law the Chinese had passed it wouldn't be able to deter him/her. To avoid HK independence, deterrent is not a way out; the Chinese must get Hong Kongers and Macaolese on their side. Most Hong Kongers aren't happy about 'Chinese Hong Kong'; of course not all of these people support HK independence, they may be pushed to the pro-independence camp if the discontent continue build up.

  • @kwok3708

I think many of our fellow Hongkongers wouldn't mind being friends and good neighbour of the Chinese... but I'm most of us're NOT happy with the idea of being a Chinese territory.

Long live the Queen! Long live British Hong Kong!

  • @kwok3708 I hate the Communist. But I do not hate the Chinese.

    Can you understand my point?

  • @kwok3708 PRC can not be China

  • @kwok3708 If China was still ruled by the Nationalists instead of the Communist in 1997, would we Brits give HK back to them?

  • @kwok3708 Remember you should not hate the name "China" completely cos there are millions of Chinese people all over who love their mother country by hearts but mostly they are not communists themselves but hoping China will one day rid herself of the Communists.

There are two China, one is the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the People's Republic of China - You should hate the latter not the ROC! Many mainlanders secretly wished ROC would come back!

  • @DavBlc7 However, some people in PRC love their country blindly. They just hate some of the foreign countries for no reason...To be honest, I really want Britain return to Hong Kong. China government just try to control everything.

  • @bluewingerx Sorry cos Britain now recognise Chinese sovereignty over HK as promised in tthe 1984 treaty - also promises never to take back HK.

Also most countries including the UN recognise HK being part of China as well. China also have a security council seat at the UN as well so able to veto any British return to HK. the chinese also have legal right to protect HK since it is legally belongs to China since start of Chinese empire despite over 100 years of British rule.

  • @DavBlc7 agree.let's form a uprising army and help the roc fight back to china.

  • i wish hong kong still under the british!!! i wonder why the british scare of china so much???they have nuclear too.they royal navy also much more morden then the china navy.maybe in terms of army size, the british lost.but they still have the common wealth of nations to call upon to help.if only... but sad is briitsh got no balls to challenge the communist china.now hong kong is becoming a mess under the communist regime.british, why you so like that!!!

  • British gorund force is much weaker than the PLA;that's the direct reason. Thus, even if they had refused to return Hong Kong by 1997, Chicom would have simply taken in Hong Kong by sending, for exmaple, half million troops armed with modern QBZ95 rifles(which the PLA troops carried on the takeover in 1997). The only country which can defeat Chicom in a ground war is South Korea.Such a war would occur in Manchuria and end with a pyrrhic and meaningless victory of Korea.

  • @xxwzaebd do you think, oversea anti Chicom groups can united together and form their own army and bring down the ccp regime???

  • The Western leaders have too many economic interests related to Chicom while the anti-Chicom groups currently enjoy only partial support by the people. Once they start operating in a visible organised manner,CHicom wuill use the Western leaders to suppress such activities. We won't know when the time will come; for now, until then, preparations should be taken in an unprovocative manner, slowly, steadily but strongly.

  • @xxwzaebd Yeah, you are right pretty much. Britain may have a very advanced tank and highly endorsed special forces, but 40 Challenger 2`s and little under 10,000 men (half of which are cooks and the like) aren`t going to wink at fighting 2,225,000 active PLA personnel. In a battle where there were eqaul amounts of men on each side however, it would be won from the start to the British.

  • @OfficialFearClan British still have the Commonwealth Armies to seek from...

  • British Hong Kong was much better than the current PRC Hong Kong. But it has to be returned to PRC once the 99 years were over. UK could not risk ground war over Hong Kong in which a PRC victory was inevitable. We know have to accept the sad but ice-cold fact that China is the superpower in Asia. This is the reason why marxist tyrannies like North Korea and Burma exist. Hong Kong should prepare in a steady and invisible way for independence after 3 decades.

  • @xxwzaebd Nowadays Britain ants trade and relationship with China so could'nt risk Chinese anger so had to leave HK agenda out.

David Cameron, British PM is now in China to visit said he wants bigger trade and good relationship with China, could raise matter on human right without risk of Chinese disappointments.

  • The problem is that PRC won't listen. They are attempting to stop Mr.Liu Xoaobao from getting the Nobel peace prize. PRC has simply become too powerful. And we have to live with this fact.

  • @xxwzaebd british got no balls to challenge the communsit china.god save the queen!!! the once mighty empire of great britian ... gone to waste by carrying communist china balls!!! standup britian!!! dun scare of communist china!!!!

  • I miss British Hong Kong. But British Hong Kong is history already. Hong Kong should go independence now!

  • I still miss the days of HK under British rule.

  • I love British Hong Kong

  • @islandpac Thank for your comment Yours matheona

  • Long live British Hong Kong!

    Viva Hong Kong Britânico!

  • So Mrs Thatcher had no choice but to sign new treaty which both China and Britain agreed. China allows HK to stay with Britain until 1997 in order to have more talks and get it transferred to China properly.

China would said both HK and Macau are now recognised Chinese Sovereign territories and they will take action.

Talks with China on retake HK peacefully will fail cos China will not let them go so both HK and Macau will stay with China for very long time to come. I am sorry to say.

  • @DavBlc7 Hi, DavBlc7 Thank you for watching matheona films, also thanks for your interesting comment.I would like to invite you on my channel to comment over than 450 videos, also on my second channel matheona history and partnership channel moleye with karaoke of national anthems over the world. Thanks again, have a nice day Yours matheona

  • @DavBlc7 there are talks? or are prevised to?, anyway, do you think that someday macau and hong kong will return to Portugal and UK?

    Viva Portugal

    God Save the Queen

    Macau e Português¡¡¡

    Macau is Portuguese

    Hong Kong is British

    British was better

    and portuguese too

  • I agree with most of you here that HK should remain British - however in the eyes of the Chinese. HK was illegally taken over by Britain and they have the right to take over the stolen area back.

They said HK were Chinese Sovereign territory by right just like Hawaii as a kingdom before the US illegally took it.

Mr Thatcher, Prime Minister at the time tried to tell the Chinese to take over the New Territorial and Lantau island but not Kowloon and HK island but China refused.

  • Even if Mrs.Thatcher had refused to sign, Chicom would have taken Hong Kong by force-an action which would have resulted in total British defeat and absolute PRC victory. It was simply inevitable. Korea is currently the only country capable of achieving a very pyrrhic victory against the PRC in a ground war-but even such a victory will be too costly .

  • Many Chinese moved to Hong Kong to escape the tyranny of Communist China, only to re-enter it a few years later. I wish Hong Kong was still British... British was better!

  • @LordWellington15 Thanks for your comment.I will pleased to invite you on channel to comment my videos. Yours matheona
