(used a wiffle ball) So i tried this from 43 feet. and my time it hit the catcher was 2.5 to 2.6 of a second. I did this math equation and it said i threw about 99 to 100 mph is this correct?
easier way take time it takes from release to catchers mitt then divide 1 by that number. then multiply by 60, after that multiply by 3600 then divide by 5280. Simple
1 / Y x 60 x 3600 / 5280= mph: Y= time from release to catchers mitt
Also to make your stop watch times more accurate you can try timeing the same pitch 5 times then find the average. Then use that average to get a more approximate answer thumbs up if you think it would help.
60'6" is to the front of the home plate. What's distance to catcher? I assume most throwers will stop the time when they hear the ball hit the glove.
@andros1984 yes, but you also have to take into account the pitcher's stride. So, 60'6" will be right around where the measurement is from the pitcher's release point to the catcher's mitt. Every pitcher will be different though. Best way to find out is to measure it out instead of using my example.
@YouGoPro Yeah hopefully, if that doesnt work out ill just stick to the middle infield.
I saw that you hurt ur shoulder, my freshman year i was out for the summer because of a tendon in my forearm. i couldnt even pick up a spoon because of the pain. but its all good now
Hey John I'm sophmore playing right feild for my high school I wanted to ask u if know a way for me to improve my arm strenght. My coach say that the right feilder has to have the strongest arm in the outfeild. So haver any advice for me I would really be thankful.
@borjaman123 he's right about the rf needing a good arm. You should get on a good throwing program that you can steadily increase over time. Before you know it you'll be throwing worm burners into home!
@YouGoPro it says 98! lol I did it over and over again. then i started getting .40 havent done that one yet. Hope to be playing in the caribbean series soon. got a try out soon, but my knee is messed up. not gonna let it hold me back though.
this video kids is why you should stay in school hah!
