  • So this is how people from pre-CS5 days do a proper hair selection. I always use refine edge these days, simple as that. Thanks for the great tutorial man!!

  • final fantasy me gusta...

  • I feel like I'm in a damn video game -____- the sounds and the clicks omg, Zelda or some shix~

  • In channels It would have been a lot easier quicker and more accurate if you had used a brush in overlay mode and painted in black and white. In overlay mode white will not paint on black ,and black will not paint on white. And if there is not enough contrast in the image to start with go image- apply image, and (or use levels.

Then you can make a perfect selection. p.s make a duplicate of your channel layer first...

  • blonde hair is hard...is it even possible?

  • @re4gamez Yes it is. use the method I just posted. go to channels,(next to layers) pick red, green. or blue.(one with most contrast.. Make copy.. then go to image-- apply image-select overlay or multiply mode.

Then large soft brush (overlay mode) paint white on pale areas black on dark. (white will not paint on black in overlay mode and vica versa. You should end up with a complete black and white image. You can use the dodge and burn tools for ends of hair. Then drag down 2 new selection DONE
